God Bless America...
Coming from Buffalo Grove IL, 20 miles NW of King Richard Daley's
Fiefdom AKA Chicago,Illinois,USA the land of the free because of the brave..
Here's one of my first posts and observations on a then potential Obama presidency in Feb 07/ I'm no prophet believe you me..... it was all common sense far too many today simply 'lack',
George Mason explained, “(T)o disarm the people (is) the best and most effectual way to enslave them.” Noah Webster elaborated: “Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed
These people have incredible video of illegals, Armed terrorists, you name it invading the country each second of every day..
I've blogged about these men weekly since the day they were wrongly convicted and then harshly sentenced by this woman judge Kathleen Cardone, so I'm no Johnny come lately to this cause I'm proud to state of US border agents Ramos and Compean..
But the US Congress and the President sure have been, with grateful exception of presidential hopeful and in my case wishful Duncan Hunter, who is my first choice for president but right now a bit of a longshot sadly, and Rep. Dana Rhorbacher who's called for the impeachment of Bush on this issue which after the Libby commutation and eventual pardon I tend to agree with as well..
After finally seeing and listening to the over zealous and egotistical prosecutor Johnny Sutton a number of times yesterday on tv, Hannity and Colmes in particular, I am even more convinced that the case was overcharged, ramrodded to the jury who had illegal sympathizers in their midst by the withholding of exculpatory evidence and should be commuted at the very least if not pardoned completely.
At the most they (the agents) violated administrative procedures and deserved no more than a suspension from their duties for a minor cover up on the scene according to Border Patrol superiors in the hearings yesterday.
Even Diane Feinstein is on the side of the Agents on this one remarkably!! Finally bi partisan support for something in that chamber, a near miracle that shows this wrong needs to be righted forthwith..
So the more of these open hearings that take place and the more blog posts and news stories on the internet the better for Ramos and Compean's hopes for freedom soon by commutation to time served or full pardon. So please keep up the awareness and do not let this story get brushed aside any longer and force the president and congress to do the right thing fix this travesty like we forced them on the Shamnesty issue.
If we can't protect the proud and brave ones that protect us in cases like this, who the he** is gonna wanna do these jobs anymore? I sure as **** wouldn't and neither will anyone else if going to jail for performing your duties (if maybe a bit carelessly) is one of the "perks" of the job.
People get less time in prison for murder in this country than these agents got for shooting an ILLEGALLY TRESPASSING KNOWN DRUG DEALER in the a** in possession of a million dollars worth of pot at the time. Madness.
Newsmax has a great story about Hunter and a breakdown on the hearings yesterday below:
Rep. Duncan Hunter: Pardon Ramos and Compean
Newsmax Staff "U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean should be pardoned, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., told a subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.
Hunter, a 2008 GOP presidential hopeful, said the prosecution of Ramos and Compean is a 'great injustice,” adding that their case 'called out for a pardon or commutation.”
Last October, U.S. District Court Judge Kathleen Cardone in El Paso, Texas, sentenced Compean to 12 years in prison and Ramos to 11 years and one day — despite a plea by their attorney for a new trial after three jurors said they were coerced into voting guilty in the case."
Hunter testified that he had read all of the police, court, and prosecution files and further concluded that federal investigators failed to thoroughly investigate whether the illegal immigrant involved was armed at the time of the incident.
Hunter called the sentences "extremely unjust,” adding that he has issues with the credibility of the immunized testimony of the star witness, a drug dealer.
Hunter has said that if elected president, his first order of business will be to pardon the agents.
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., who has also been critical of the prosecutions, exclaimed emotionally that the two agents are "now beginning their 180th day in solitary confinement!”
Rohrabacher conceded that Ramos and Compean had apparently tried to cover up the shooting and came up short in the paperwork reporting of the incident, but argued that the pair should have been reprimanded — not prosecuted for a felony. continued
Great to see Ramos and Compean moved to a halfway house towards release in March after a year and a half of solitary confinement and illegal incarceration caused by an illegal prosecution led by a rogue and out of control federal prosecutor.
The person that needs to now be behind bars is the prosecutor, Johnny Sutton, and the scum drug runner and dealer that caused the entire incident in the first place.
Incredibly I just heard the wife of one of the gentleman in the background here on Glenn Beck's show and their lawyer indicating that her husband incredibly wants to return back to serving and protecting with the border control. That's certainly an attitude that I would not possess after being screwed so severely and thoroughly as these two men were. In fact I'd be readying a multi million dollar civil rights lawsuit and they would and should win never having to work again.
Good for him and men and women like him who work to keep us safe while the government works to do just the opposite
Ramos, Compean freed from prison:
WND "Convicted former Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean were released from federal prison this morning and are en route to join their families in El Paso, Texas.
Characterizing Ramos and Compean's incarceration as a 'political prosecution,' Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, called for a congressional investigation into alleged prosecutorial misconduct by El Paso U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton under the direction of Bush administration Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
Poe also called for an investigation into the alleged role of the Mexican government in demanding that Ramos and Compean be prosecuted.
'As soon as President Bush commuted Ramos and Compean's sentences, the Mexican government registered a large protest,' Poe noted.
'In their protest, the Mexican government admitted their involvement in the case without specifying what their involvement was,' he added.
'So I think the first order of business is for the U.S. Congress to investigate what role the Mexican government had in demanding the Bush administration prosecute this case,' he insisted. 'Mexico should not be meddling into U.S. criminal cases.'" continued

This is president Bush's most boneheaded move of his entire presidency and I am simply absolutely disgusted with this development of leaving these two agents off his pardon list that includes scum far beyond the level and magnitude of what these fine agents were charged with.
In a normal thinking society these men would be receiving medals of valor instead of prosecution and prison for what they did, shooting a Mexican piece of human garbage in the ass who was fleeing, hence resisting arrest after being caught smuggling 700 lbs of dope across our southern border.
As I've maintained all along here on this blog should Bush take this course of action, I will no longer show public support for this president against the endless army and onslaught from the mentally deranged loons on the left, something I've done religiously since the inception of this blog as well as working and contributing on and to both his successful runs for president.
Leaving these men in prison for 11-12 years for a law not intended to be used against law enforcement personnel in the first place is an abomination and definitely meets the criteria of cruel and unusual punishment, and is entirely unforgivable, period.
If I were a drug enforcement agent or particularly a border agent today I would tender my resignation as I would not put my life on the line for a country and government that protects filthy foreign scum like they've done in this case over it's own heroic agents. No way Jose, It's not worth it and I truly hope that agents do leave in droves to protest this action and inaction by Bush to correct this disgraceful and overzealous prosecution.
Bush springs drug dealers, leaves border agents to rot:
WorldNetDaily President George W. Bush today added a convicted methamphetamine dealer, a cocaine distributor and two marijuana suppliers to the list of drug operators he's pardoned while in office, bringing his total of drug suppliers who have been pardoned or had their sentences commuted to 36.
He's also pardoned more than a dozen thieves, seven embezzlers, an arsonist, several mail thieves, a man who violated the Neutrality Act and eight Thanksgiving turkeys, but there's been no clemency for U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, who were convicted of shooting at a fleeing drug smuggler.
Andy Ramirez, of Friends of the Border Patrol, long has been involved in the Ramos-Compean case, and said the questions just start piling up.
"First and foremost is the question that has to be asked, 'Why is the president dug in so deep' on Ramos and Compean?" Ramirez said. "Look at how many members of Congress have sent him letters, and have held hearings.
"You really have got to start to wonder … does this doper (in the Ramos-Compean case) lead to somebody really big?" he said.
Joe Loya, the father-in-law for Ramos, said he, his daughter and grandchildren were "devastated" by word that Ramos and Compean had been denied clemency on the latest list of presidential actions.
"We were praying for a miracle. We just don't understand where the connection is when drug smugglers are getting pardons and commuted sentences, yet two agents who are not criminals, who were just doing their jobs, are in isolation," he told WND by telephone as he traveled to visit his son-in-law in jail on Christmas Eve.
"George Bush could redeem himself," he continued. "Ninety-five percent of our support is coming from Republicans. He certainly has nothing to lose.
We kept up the pressure out here in blogland as I reported earlier, but there were some real heroes believe it or not in congress who stayed the course the entire time helping to finally kick Bush in the rear enough to get him to finally swing our way after a year of Obama like Obfuscation.
Dana Rhorbacher was one, Duncan Hunter who I love as a congressman another, border bandit who's sadly left Washington after his failed presidential and he will be missed dearly, one Tom Tancredo, Homeland security hawk Peter King in New York, even liberal Diane Feinstein kicked in for the cause as well and Steve King of Iowa round out the main players.
Read more about it here below from WorldNetDaily's late edition tonight on the eve of the saddest day in American history, as an illegal alien Usurper is inaugurated unconstitutionally as our 44th president tommorow and the country's death spiral accelerates to mach 1 speed. /
This pic was from a Rhorabacher rally early on in this fiasco/
Congressmen lobbied for agents at 11th hour:
WorldNetDaily: "Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle lobbied White House counsel and President Bush personally on behalf of border agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean in a series phone calls and face-to-face conversations that continued through the 11th hour of the administration, WND has learned.
A key meeting in the lobbying effort leading up to President Bush's decision to commute the sentences was an hour-long phone conversation Jan. 9 orchestrated by Rep Steve King, R-Iowa.
The conference call included Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, who was recruited by King because of his extensive career as a judge and prosecutor in Texas.
Participating for the White House were Kenneth Lee, legal counsel assigned to review recommendations from the Department of Justice Pardon Attorney, and Jeff Lungren, special assistant to the president.
Ramos and Compean have been in solitary confinement in federal prison since Jan. 17, 2007, serving 11 and 12 years respectively for a 2005 incident in Fabens, Texas, during in which they fired on a drug smuggler as he fled back into Mexico after bringing 750 pounds of marijuana into the U.S. near Fabens, Texas.
King and Poe argued the mandatory minimum 10-year sentence Ramos and Compean were given under U.S. Code Section 924 (c) was severe.
WND has learned a key final-hours strategy coordinated by many of Ramos and Compean's congressional supporters was to defuse attacks on Johnny Sutton, the El Paso U.S. Attorney whose office conducted the prosecution. The lawmakers, instead, focused attention instead on the unfair nature of the 10-year mandatory minimum sentence.
Last week, 31 of the 34 current members of the Texas congressional delegation, including both senators, sent a letter to President Bush asking for him to commute the prison sentences.
As WND reported last week, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., issued a press statement detailing several statements in which Sutton himself expressed concerns that the 10-year mandatory minimum sentence was severe. The trial prosecutor in Sutton's office, Debra Kanof, decided to charge Ramos and Compean under 924 (c) after the agents rejected her plea bargaining offers.
WND previously reported Aldrete-Davila lied at trial. He actually had a valid Mexican drivers license the day he committed the offense involving Ramos and Compean.
Aside from his dark horse run for the presidency, which sadly for America has almost no chance making it (except with the small groups of real conservatives that are aware of his record and stances on nearly everything that coincide with the way America should be but isn't), he is working very hard on two very important problems most other politico's are avoiding at all costs right now.
Those being that he's been all over this administration on illegal immigration from the very start, not when politically expedient like most of the others, and number two is the Ramos & Compean border agent situation as well. It looks as though his most recent effort may be nearly guaranteeing their eventual release thus protecting the people that protect us when the rest of the government seemingly is doing everything they possibly can do not to.
VICTORY FOR THE BORDER TWO!!
Gmail -Team Tancredo "Late last week, the House of Representatives approved by overwhelming voice vote my amendment to forbid the Bush Administration from using any funds to enforce the judgment or sentences imposed by a federal judge against former Border Patrol Agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos. My amendment will force the release of Compean and Ramos….and it strikes a real blow for “We the People!”
As you know, Compean and Ramos were prosecuted for doing their jobs in protecting our borders. My amendment sent a clear message to the Bush Administration -- put the pressure back on criminals who smuggle drugs across our border rather than on the people who protect us from them!
This vote was not just a victory for Compean and Ramos – it is another big summer victory for our immigration reform movement! Thank you for all you have done to help us keep the Compean and Ramos case front and center on the national agenda these past few months!" continued

I've stood beside Bush on many of his most unpopular decisions mostly involving the military, the war against on or whatever they call it this week terror, but his complicity in the continued imprisonment of Border Agents Ramos and Compean are beyond the pale. His undying love for illegal aliens has always ruffled my feathers and were I a member of the Border Patrol I would hang up my guns and tell the government to take the job shove it up Bush's ass.
How Bush himself has been such an impediment to the stopping of illegals flooding the country moving it towards third world nation status for a decade now will be the most harmful of things that Bush has done to this country while in office, and the treatment of these border agents was just icing on top of that cake adding insult to injury. And to think he was supposed to a conservative. Just imagine what the country now faces on this front with an illegal alien of Kenyan descent now soon moving in to the white house it appears, that is unless the Supreme Court steps in on December 5th and puts the kibash on Obama's theft of the presidency thanks to the support 0f 51% of Americans who never bothered to ask for him to provide a birth certificate during the entire campaign, idiots they are.
God help us all along with Ramos and Compean, men who still have one more chance it's believed for Bush to correct this travesty of justice by his homeboy Johnny Sutton who prosecuted these men with the word of a convicted drug smuggler brought over the border for the prosecution as one of his last acts as president. Here better damn well correct it or his legacy will be that much further damaged than it already is.
What scum on both sides in this and the only good and true Americans involved in the whole damn case are behind bars.
Ex-El Paso Border Patrol agents' sentences not commuted by Bush
- El Paso Times: "WASHINGTON - President George W. Bush has granted pardons to 14 individuals and commuted the prison sentences of two others, The Associated Press learned Monday.
Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, the two former Border Patrol agents who were found guilty of discharging a firearm during the act of a crime, an offense that includes a mandatory 10-year sentence, were not on the list.
'We keep praying. We got millions of supporters all over the nation,' Ramos' father-in-law, Joe Loya, said in an El Paso Times interview Monday. Loya said there could be more pardons issued by President Bush before Christmas.
The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans ordered Ramos and Compean to be resentenced after the appeals court dropped a tampering-with-evidence conviction. The dropped conviction did not change their overall sentence.
The new round of White House pardons are Bush's first since March and come less than two months before he will end his presidency. The crimes committed by those on the list include drug offenses, income tax evasion, bank embezzlement and violation of the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.
Bush has been stingy during his time in office about handing out such reprieves.
Including these actions, he has granted a total of 171 and eight commutations.
and to think Bush saw it in his heart to pardon a Jersey Coke Trafficking rapper, how sweet.
Rapper and police sergeant among President Bush pardons
Times Online: "A Grammy Award-winning hip-hop artist and a former Detroit police sergeant are among 16 individuals to be pardoned or to have their prison sentences commuted by President Bush.
The new round of White House pardons announced late last night are Mr Bush's first since March, and come less than two months before the end of his presidency."continued

That would be our US Border Agents Ramos and Compean and Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, a man just arrested who was actually and incredulously used as credible witness by a US Attorney supposedly looking for the truth to imprison those fine upstanding guards for shooting a fleeing Mexican illegal in the a** while he made a run for the border attempting to bring across a load of drugs...... marijuana to be more precise.
Maybe this arrest and news will be the ice breaker that will finally free these wronged agents and lead to the indictment and firing of US Attorney Johnny Sutton for false or wrongful prosecution of Ramos & Compean at this late date. Hopefully.
Drug smuggler arrested for 2nd marijuana load:
WorldNetDaily: "Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, the drug smuggler who testified for the prosecution during the trials for Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, has been arrested on charges of bringing more than 750 pounds of marijuana into the United States.
Aldrete-Davila was arrested today at the El Paso border crossing on charges involving what has become know as the 'second load,' in which he smuggled a second 750-pound load of marijuana into the U.S. after he was given immunity by the prosecutor, U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, for the first load." After the light fully shines on the bogus arrests and subsequent prosecutions of U.S. Border agents Ramos and Compean, Bush's little buddy Sutton should do time himself in a federal prison as a marked man living in solitary to protect him from the general population, just as these innocent border agents have done throughout 2007 thanks to his malicious prosecution.
The case was rigged from the start for the jury to come to a predetermined conclusion using the testimony of Mexican drug dealers like the piece of dirt pictured below Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, who's third arrest smuggling drugs into the US should take down Sutton for good and free the 2 agents by Thanksgiving.
If Bush doesn't pardon these men immediately in light of this new revelation, and I say this as a very ardent supporter of most of his policies, he too should be charged with dereliction of his duties and be impeached immediately as Dana Rorbacher called for early on in this affair.
Jerome Corsi and WorlNetDaily, the only news outlet to keep a constant watch on this travesty of justice if there ever was one besides thousands of bloggers like me has another story today about this case and it's components posted below:
Arrest prompts call for release of Ramos, Compean:
WorldNetDaily: "Two congressmen are calling for the immediate release of imprisoned Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean and a complete investigation of their prosecutor after the arrest last night of the drug smuggler at the center of the case. Reps. Ted Poe, R-Texas, and Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., say that with the arrest of Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, Congress and the attorney general should launch a full-scale review of U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton's prosecution of the border agents."
Sutton, said Rohrabacher in a statement, "is now confirming what members of Congress and the public already figured out about Osvaldo Davila. He's a rotten habitual drug smuggler who should have been the target of Sutton's prosecution, instead of Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean."
As WND reported, Aldrete-Davila was arrested yesterday at the El Paso border crossing on charges he smuggled a second 750-pound load of marijuana into the U.S. after he was given immunity by U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton. (Story continues)

I supported Bush through both elections whole heartedly, right through the Iraq war and right into the beginning of this illegal immigration abomination. When border agents Ramos and Compean were convicted for doing their jobs defending our borders when Bush and our government hasn't, I then began perhaps quite belatedly to turn a bit on the president.
Then with his staunch support for the shamnesty bill like we've never seen him support anything else I resigned my membership to the Republican party for independent status in protest. And I, like Dana Rohrbach, who has been championing the cause of these agents all along, believe that Bush should be impeached over this if anything more befalls either of these men as they are appealing their case while imprisoned.
Well, that time has sadly come and I say throw Bush to the wolves and under the bus as far as I'm concerned as now one agent is indeed suffering terribly right now for protecting us and our borders.
Ignacio Ramos has been in solitary due to a near deadly beating he took from prisoners, and word now comes he is quite sick as a result of this protective yet severely punitive treatment, and if Bush doesn't immediately pardon these men and right this atrocious wrong he deserves impeachment for this brutal dereliction of his duties as president .
Ignacio Ramos reported in 'emaciated' condition: WorldNetDaily: "A congressional aide who visited Ignacio Ramos in prison said the convicted Border Patrol agent appeared emaciated, losing more than 30 pounds in solitary confinement.
Ramos, who is appealing his 11-year sentence for the non-lethal shooting of a Mexican drug smuggler, has been in a 'special housing unit' since he was beaten by inmates in February at the medium-security Federal Correctional Complex in Yazoo City, Miss., said Tara Setmayer, spokeswoman for Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif."
"He was very happy to see me, but, overall, he was very emotional," Setmayer told WND. "He is demoralized. Languishing in solitary for 135 days takes its toll on anyone."
The men who bloodied Ramos with kicks from steel-toed boots are in the same unit, Setmayer said. read more
What's happened to these border agents has now crept into the inhumane and absolute travesty of justice unmatched in our history in the despicable treatment of these fine officers of the law and protectors of the borders.
After mountains of appeals to lawmakers from the public supporting agents Ramos and Compean, all pleas have gone ignored or denied, even by the president we've all supported through thick and thin all these years. In his case we all must admit it's been mostly on the thin side and as far as his border policies for the eight years he has been president are concerned he should be impeached for extreme dereliction of duty as commander in chief at this point. | President Bush let us all down in countless ways and although he's stuck to his guns and principles as far as the war on terror goes he's been truly AWOL on the border issue and in many cases appears to care more about the plight of illegal Mexicans than Americans.
All we can do right now is keep pounding on our desks sending emails faxes and scathing rebukes to all involved in this tragedy, so if you please here's another petition on behalf of the agents and their struggling families for justice, please take the time to at least the petition and if at all feasible send the poror families some help or let them know we're out here as committed and grateful Americans trying our tails off to secure the release of these two husbands and fathers.
Please help Grassfire.org help them if you can

I'm not quite certain I want to elect the guy just to see this constitutional amendment re amended, but if he manages to make it to the nomination I'll be pulling the lever for ol' Huckleberry.
He also has a good stand on the Ramos_Campean situation, promising to make a pardon of them his first act as president, but let's all hope and pray they don't have to wait that long to get out of jail after being railroaded in there in the first place. This is president Bush's most glaring failure as president next to his love for illegals letting this unconstitutional conviction continue to stand this long .
Huckabee vows to defy birthright citizenship - -
The Washington Times, America's Newspaper: "Mike Huckabee wants to amend the Constitution to prevent children born in the U.S. to illegal aliens from automatically becoming American citizens, according to his top immigration surrogate — a radical step no other major presidential candidate has embraced.
Mr. Huckabee, who won last week's Republican Iowa caucuses, promised Minuteman Project founder James Gilchrist that he would force a test case to the Supreme Court to challenge birthright citizenship, and would push Congress to pass a 28th Amendment to the Constitution to remove any doubt."
The former Arkansas governor thinks the case against U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean was railroaded, Mr. Gilchrist said. Ramos and Compean are serving lengthy prison sentences for shooting a fleeing drug-smuggling suspect in the buttocks.
"I would make it my first act as president to pardon agents Ramos and Compean," Mr. Gilchrist said Mr. Huckabee told him. "I regret that they have spent yet another Christmas locked up in a windowless cell like animals and unable to be free and with their families."
Mr. Gilchrist, who campaigned with Mr. Huckabee in Iowa last week, said Mr. Huckabee explained his positions in a half-hour conversation on the campaign trail.
"I read back my notes to him twice and I told him I did not want to put words in his mouth," said Mr. Gilchrist, who also issued a press release from the Minuteman Project detailing Mr. Huckabee's positions. "The guy looked me right in the eye." continued

I am so elated to see this happening that I have personally penned a thank you letter to George W Bush Who I was contemplating abandoning as a result of his inaction on the case of these two honorable Border guards who deserve a Hero Parade when they are released. I have donated funds through Grassfire and WorldNet Daily since day one and it's money that was the best spent I've ever put out.The Best!!!
My latest donation resulted in these ribbons being sent to which I was getting ready to install in the corner of this blog, and was to hopefully encourage others to do so as well, like the Israeli support ribbons we all see on the right wing blogs that this blog used to carry until the script no longer functioned with this present banner I've been using. Here's the ribbon.....
Thank goodness I can sh**can that idea, and again thank God above that Bush heard our prayers, and may these poor men and their families libve happily ever after in spite of this malpractice of Justice by Prosecutor Johnny Sutton, a Bush appointee and rogue prosecutor who should be imprisoned himself for this rogue illegal prosecution.
Proof that we the people can and will be heard, Obama is now the next target, bet on that one you should because we will expose him if it's the last thing we do.
Bush commutes sentences of former US border agents:
"WASHINGTON (AP) - In his final acts of clemency, President George W. Bush on Monday commuted the prison sentences of two former U.S. Border Patrol agents whose convictions for shooting a Mexican drug dealer ignited fierce debate about illegal immigration.
Bush's decision to commute the sentences of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, who tried to cover up the shooting, was welcomed by both Republican and Democratic members of Congress. They had long argued that the agents were merely doing their jobs, defending the American border against criminals. They also maintained that the more than 10-year prison sentences the pair was given were too harsh.
Rancor over their convictions, sentencing and firings has simmered ever since the shooting occurred in 2005.
Ramos and Compean became a rallying point among conservatives and on talk shows where their supporters called them heroes. Nearly the entire bipartisan congressional delegation from Texas and other lawmakers from both sides of the political aisle pleaded with Bush to grant them clemency.
Bush didn't pardon the men for their crimes, but decided instead to commute their prison sentences because he believed they were excessive and that they had already suffered the loss of their jobs, freedom and reputations, a senior administration official said. continued
God bless America, the system finally worked for these poor men today, and thank president Bush for hearing our pleas and prayers.

A while ago, about 59 days top be exact, I blogged here about the US border agents that were railroaded into 11 and 12 year sentences for doing their job too well essentially.
Something is terribly wrong is this damn country when a skank leftwing lawyer aids and abets terrorists conspiring against the United States and gets a paltry 28 months in prison, then a couple of border patrol agents doing their job in an exemplary fashion who shoot a couple of illegals smuggling drugs in the ass as they attempt to escape get 11 & 12 years in prison. read more
Fortunately these two agents Jose Alonso Compean & Ignacio Ramos' have been given the OK to appeal to the president for pardons, hopefully resulting in relieving them of serving out these outrageous sentences issued by Liberal illegal sympathist Judge Kathleen Cardone.
Led by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher appealing and lobbying on their behalf, the DOJ has officially given them the nod to apply for the pardons. President Bush had better grant these appeals or I personally will lose any of the little confidence I still have in him that he is serious about the war on terror, the only thing this president still has going for him at this late stage of his presidency.
Sadly, up until this time he has refused to do do, and sadly we all know Bush really has a soft spot for these damn illegals. If these sentences stand, what agent in their right mind will want to continue to work under conditions that they may be prosecuted and incarcerated for doing their jobs.
Justice Department suggests personal plea to President Bush
In the first official response of any kind to several congressional letters sent on behalf of two former Border Patrol agents, the U.S. Department of Justice Thursday recommended that the agents personally petition for a presidential pardon. The Justice Department letter was one highlight of a midafternoon rally in Santa Ana for former agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean. At the rally, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Huntington Beach, demanded that President Bush review the agents' case and either pardon them or commute their sentences. read more

Nowadays protecting the border can be a dangerous proposition as we know, especially when one does their job too good like agents Ramos and Compean did, who are still rotting away in a US jail for shooting a fleeing drug dealer in the a** who later worked in cahoots with a crooked di**less US prosecuter only to later end up in jail himself for continuing his drug running acrioss the US Border.
This has been the biggest disgrace of the Bush and his administration, letting these agents sit in jail for this, an absolute disgrace. And if he doesn't pardon them before his term is up this should be a mark on his legacy that should bever be removed.
Border Patrol agent wounds man near Mexican border:
My Way News - "SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a U.S. Border Patrol agent shot and wounded a man throwing rocks at agents near the U.S.-Mexico border in the San Diego area.
San Diego police Sgt. Kerry Tom says a group who had crossed to the U.S. side threw rocks at agents Tuesday night. Tom says the agents tried unsuccessfully to disperse the crowd by firing pepper balls.
One man was hit and fled into Mexico. He was found at a hospital and arrested by Mexican authorities. Details on his condition were not available.
A message left with a Border Patrol spokesman Wednesday morning was not returned."
Hopefully This Agent Doesn't End Up In Jail Like Ramos and Compean

A day late due to computer technical difficulties, so my apologies to the BFB folks here we go:
In my sidebar along with other blogrolls you will find one that links to Blogs for Borders. It's a humble effort created and put together by bloggers Jake Jacobsen and MJ, (aka The BaldChick,) to hopefully bring any bit of additional attention we can to the out of control and mostly ignored illegal immigration situation.
As fruitless an effort as it may at times seem doing absolutely nothing produces exactly the same results, absolutely nothing..
This collaborative effort is aimed at only the ILLEGAL immigrants who come to this country through the back door and not a blanket rebuke of all US immigrants entering our country via our mostly minimal requirements as the sly, manipulative media and Mexican hired US PR firms want everyone that's either too busy, disinterested or too lazy in this country to be informed to believe.
So without further adieu here is:
In this weeks episode...

We can't forget about these 2 men unduly suffering in prison right now thanks to our overreaching government more concerned about the liberty of damn Illegal Alien Drug Dealers than our own hero border agents. Johnny Sutton should hang after his prosecution for malicious prosecution of these two men.
A prosecution bought and paid for buy our own government using the worth-sh** word of a drug dealer.
We'll have to wait until Jorge is out to pasture I'm afraid for that outcome, at least the prosecution part.
Patty Compean Speaks Out - A Blog by Mrs. Compean
FireSociety.com -- America's Grassroots Community: "I really hope you are moved by this tribute that my little sister created. The idea came about when I mentioned to my sister how much Avril Lavigne's 'Keep Holding On' song made me think about Jose every time I would hear it.
The desperation he must be feeling not knowing what was going on with his case until he read about it in a letter or heard it on the radio and what I would tell him. This song also reminds me of all of the victims of this war on law enforcement and their families who are going through the same thing as we are. What they must be going through and feeling. It is my hope that after listening to it, you will send it to your friends and family. Thank you, Patty"

Last time I checked we have quite enough drunk drivers and murderers in our midst without needing more of them to be imported either willfully or unwittingly. Especially the same one imported 14 times over, this after being deported 3 and leaving on his own 11 times. This case would be comedic if not so brutally tragic like so many of these completely avoidable cases are..
And then to top that off we foolishly prosecute the men charged with keeping this scum out of our country when they do their jobs as we asked them. Then they come back here and kill great American after great American like this gentle man below for instance.
Mandolin maker's killer had been deported 14 times Mexican citizen receives 25 year prison sentence, will be eligible for parole in 7-1/2 years
Friday, 07/20/07 - Tennessean.com: "An illegal immigrant convicted in a fatal drunk driving wreck in Nashville had been deported from the U.S. three times and allowed to leave voluntarily on eleven other occasions before the accident that claimed the life of a local guitar maker.
The revelation came during testimony by a federal agent at a sentencing hearing today for Julio Villasana. It was not immediately clear how he managed to re-enter the U.S."
Following the hearing, Villasana, 34, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing Charlie Derrington in the Aug. 1, 2006, wreck.
Derrington was a noted mandolin maker for Gibson Musical Instruments who reconstructed bluegrass legend Bill Monroe's prized instrument. He had been riding his motorcycle on Briley Parkway north of Nashville when he collided with Villasana’s car, which had been traveling in the wrong direction.
Villasana, who at the time lived in Louisville, Ky., fled the scene but was arrested later on suspicion of drunken driving, police said. continued
These cases anger me and I'm sure you as well to no end. Here we have people illegally int he country committing simultaneously two of the three worst crimes that Americans or humans for that matter can commit, DUI resulting in murder (rape being the third that many of these aliens commit as well while here as we all know). If you don't believe that one, click here, if you have an extra hour or so, then here)
WorldNetDaily has an comprehensive compilation of these totally avoidable DUI resulting in death tragedies occurring time and time again that they published on June 1st this year and republished today titled
Drunk and dangerous: DUI illegals behind the wheel Aliens under influence of alcohol turning U.S. citizens into roadkill
WND has reported on the growing list of illegal immigrants who have not only ignored U.S. immigration laws, but state laws against drinking and driving as well, killing innocents on the highways in the process, including: go there to see this Hall of US Government's Neglectful Shame
Politico left out "ILLEGAL" so I added it to the headline for them..... First off lets take note of the most well known and powerful undocumented ILLEGAL alien who sits high on the hog usurping the office of the presidency, none other than Chairman MaoBama himself.
We can't talk about illegal aliens without putting him at the top of the list from now on. Perhaps this is why he is so anxious to placate the illegal lobby, so that's one less charge when the dominoes finally fall.
Keep the heat on these people in DC as I don't give a damn the "Immigration Lobby" wants a bill crafted by "the end of the month" because we've wanted the illegals deported since we discovered their coming over the border like a foreign army.
One that's allowed to pour over the borders with hardly any pushback, aside from the "whack an Illegal" game our border patrol agents are forced to play down on the border by the lackadaisical feds who care more about placating big business and food growers than Americans. (that is when they're not arresting the agents for shooting drug runners in the ass..Ramos Compean)
At least in 7 months we know this left wing Illegal alien loving group (not that Jorge Bush was any better) is finished in politics, and the next one we bring in with more scrutiny than ever had better start listening to US instead of these "below the border, pain in the ass, high paid, Illegal alien lobbyists trying to con Washington into rewarding them all for what?
Mostly for stealing from our people's savings by lowering wages across the country and looting our emergency services and food banks for POOR AMERICANS for decades now, thereby becoming THE sole contributor to bankrupting the country in just about every state they're found in great numbers.
Particularly the state of California and this back "asswards" state of Illinois of which I'm bailing on as soon as Obama's removed from office and especially in which Chicago and it's surrounding 'burbs which has turned itself into a gosh darn illegal alien magnet by classifying it as a "SANCTUARY CITY".
See the degeneration to third world status these 2 states and others have become over the past 4 decades for all you need to know about what illegal aliens do to this country, because as "California goes so goes the country".
Funny I don't hear liberals using that phrase too much anymore now that one of our most beautiful states has been turned into an illegal holding pen without fences or a pot to piss in because the llegals freakin' stole it.
I've given this a lot of thought and since the government isn't doing "dick" about it, perhaps we can employ our prison populations to stamp out a million of these traps to locate just north and south of the border which will help stem the flow.... ;>)
POLITICO.com: "Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) backed away from a major push on immigration reform in the coming weeks, amid concerns that the issue may be too volatile for an election year agenda already packed with ambitious legislative plans.
The announcement came in the face of earlier indications from third-ranking Democrat Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) that immigration could get done soon. Reid told thousands of activists during a rally in Las Vegas over the weekend that the Senate would act on immigration reform “now,” raising expectations among his Latino base that Congress would suddenly take up the politically charged issue.
But asked about the bill’s status Tuesday, Reid backed away from the pledge to act on it immediately.
“We have a lot of work to do,” Reid said. “We won't get to immigration reform this work period. We won't get to the Supreme Court justice this weekend. We have lots of things to do and I've spent most of the caucus today [discussing with my members] the things we have to do and how we're going to do them.”" continued

That's what the immigrants that built this great country (our ancestors) used to see and hear basically when seeking entry and citizenship to this great and blessed country comprised of the best from the rest when they arrived en mass at Ellis Island eager to embark on a new life in the promised land.
Well not anymore, as that is simply the stuff of dreams and folklore as anyone and everyone that can run jump or swim can come into this country and begin a life that they only dreamed of back in their homeland that they had or have no chance of acquiring back there. After all, that's why they are here instead of there, which they all wish to bring here instead of leaving there where it belongs.
Today this Blogs for Borders post has some special significance as the Illegals around the country and particularly in Chicago (pronounced CHI- Cago as opposed to Shi-cago to they and their members) are supposed to for the second year in a row now brazenly and defiantly extend their collective middle fingers to we, the citizens and benefactors of this country while they take the day off in order to disrupt our daily activities in cities across America demanding that we accept them for who they are and anoint them official Americans immediately forthwith with no strings attached.
According to them they are the only ones in this country that work hard every day, they are only here to obtain a better life for them and their families consisting of entire baseball rosters of members, and that somehow it is their God given right to come here and share in the beauty and again privilege it is to be an American. The country that our ancestors and the ancestors of the African Americans of yore sadly known as slaves built with their brains, blood, sweat and tears is now some come one come all free for all for anyone that feels like climbing aboard.
Acting as if this freedom and liberty thing is written in stone somewhere and everywhere as a right of all humans that anyone and everyone can and should come to America as it is their right to do so even though their chosen prophet or God, be it Allah, Confucious, Buddah and Osama have said to them otherwise, while our Christian God and prophet Jesus that guided the forefathers who built this land are cast aside like Don Imus at a Rutgers Basketball game.
They say and claim that without their tax free cheap labor and services America as a country simply stops functioning, therefore we should simply throw rule of law and order to the wind succumbing to their threats bestowing upon them the most prized and sought after privilege across the globe, American Citizenship.
So today as they stomp and dump all over the rest of we working Americans by arbitrarily taking the day off of their so badly needed jobs while waving Mexican flags and burning American ones. Then brazenly demanding rights provided only to legal Americans through the US Constitution while they simultaneously refuse to assimilate and participate, instead wishing to segregate and extort the limp wristed and spineless politicians in Washington by promising their votes to whichever party grants them immediate membership without consequence or delay.

It sure doesn't take these folks long to turn right around and "skip to my lou" la-di da right back into the country no?
Can anyone say "Border Fence", I knew ya could. I have a dag gone fence in my own back yard that woulda' kept this bum off of my property unless he's there to cut the grass that is (my townhome association hires them folks, not I.. and I don't like that one bit either), why doesn't the country have one as well?
Of coarse we proponents of an electrical 75 foot high fence with an alligator infested mote on our side of it know the answer to that question. And that's why there will be no amnesty bill approved by "We The People", because they'll never build it no matter what they say.
They still don't get the message and they (our congress) will just simply try to end run around us piecemealing this amnesty bill behind our backs chunk by chunk, buried deep in all the pork barrel legislation they pass when they do work from time to time if we don't keep our eyes on 'em.
That means we'll have to continue to watch this game being played on our borders, that good old catch and release, as our own agents feel handcuffed by rules and regs more than the damn illegals do. Just ask our Heroic Agents Ramos and Compean. At least the agents in the story below managed to arrest this slime again without getting arrested and prosecuted themselves for some B****** reason or another by Border Agent Hater and Bush Buddy Johnny Sutton.
Meanwhile, why not take out some of that frustration on the virtual illegals down at the bottom of my right side bar if you feel so inclined or click here, and together we can pretend to be doing something about the border just like our government pretends they are too.
Border agents arrest illegal entrant convicted in Colorado of sexual assault
www.azstarnet.com ®: "Border Patrol agents arrested a 31-year-old illegal entrant from Mexico late Wednesday night who was convicted of sexual assault in Colorado and had been deported last week in Douglas.
Agents captured the man overnight and discovered his sexual assault conviction Thursday morning while running his fingerprints through an electronic database system at a processing center in Nogales, said Jim Hawkins, Border Patrol Tucson Sector spokesman."
The man, whose name was not released Thursday, was convicted of sexual assault on July 26, 2006, in Littleton, Colo., and deported through Douglas on July 20; last week, Hawkins said. Border Patrol officials estimate that about 10 percent of the people they catch have criminal records. Recent data seem to bear that out. From Oct. 1 through June 15, 31,152 — or 11 percent — of the 288,018 apprehensions made in the Tucson Sector were illegal entrants with criminal records, said DeWitt, citing the latest figures available. continued
