Hijacked US crew 'retake vessel':

BBC NEWS | Africa | The US crew of a ship hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia has retaken control of the vessel, according to Pentagon sources.

Unnamed US defence officials said one pirate had been captured by the crew of the Maersk Alabama, seized earlier in the Indian Ocean.

But the vessel's Danish owners, Maersk, said they could not confirm that the crew had fought off the pirates.

It was the sixth ship seized off Somalia in recent days.

The Associated Press quoted a defence official as saying: "The crew is back in control of the ship.

"It's reported that one pirate is on board under crew control - the other three were trying to flee."

Reports suggest the other three pirates jumped overboard.

Maersk's chief executive, John Reinhart, said he could not confirm that the ship had been retaken, but told AFP news agency he believed the crew was safe.

The ship was attacked by several small boats in the early hours of Wednesday in an incident apparently lasting for about five hours.

Maritime officials said the vessel took all possible evasive action before it reported that the pirates had boarded.

More than 130 pirates attacks, including close to 50 successful hijackings, were reported in 2008, threatening one of the world's busiest shipping lanes.

Tell me what other country's poor people have Plasma TV's, daily drink and drug habits, and are all clothed, housed and at least 50 lbs overweight, not to mention any one of them and their children and can show up at any ER in America for all the free health care they can manage?

None that I know of on this globe.

We are the most generous people on the earth but we obviously only have so much bounty to share with the world, and these unlimited free rides have bankrupted the American Southwest and California ten times over not to mention other states throughout the Republic, and the truth is those who travel here from south of the border have absolutely no allegiance to this country in the first place and they admit it.

The first thing they say is they come here to make their lives better, not ours, and only wish to turn it into a home away from home. And to most of them it is nothing else but a place to earn a check and bolt when the going gets rough. Now of coarse this does not encompass the entire breadth of immigrants that come to America who we've always welcomed, just the free loading ones who come here illegally and leave everything worse than the way they found it.

Again, Sheriff Joe is the ONE man out there "doing the job no other American law enforcement and government want to do", and that is enforce the immigration laws. If anyone here should be investigated it should be this inadequate tool of Obama named Napolitano who has no business running homeland security, she couldn't even run her own fkng state, and this is nothing but vindictive payback for Joe's hard line stance on Illegals, which she refused to take as governor, and his overwhelming popularity in that state as well as nationwide.

Justice Dept. Investigates Arizona Sheriff for Enforcing Immigration Law:

CNSNews.com -- The Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched an investigation of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office in Arizona following requests by congressional Democrats and allegations by liberal activists that the department has violated the civil rights of illegal aliens.

Reps. John Conyers (D-Mich.), Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), and Robert Scott (D-Va.) requested the investigation, and activists groups such as National Day Laborer Organizer Network and ACORN launched petition drives and rallies in support of the probe.

The investigation focuses on Sheriff Joe Arpaio and dozens of officers under his command who were trained through the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Agreements of Cooperation in Communities to Enhance Safety and Security (ACCESS), which partners federal and local law enforcement to enforce immigration laws. (The Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement division is known popularly as ICE.)

In a letter dated March 10, 2009, Loretta Smith, acting assistant attorney general at the DOJ, detailed what her department would be investigating:

"This is to inform you that the United States Department of Justice is commencing an investigation of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (''MCSO'') pursuant to the pattern or practice provisions of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994,42 U.S.C. §14141 ("Section 14141") and the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968,42 U.S.C. § 3789d ("Safe Streets Act"), and pursuant to the prohibitions against national origin discrimination in Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,42 U.S.C. §§ 2000d to 2000d-7 ("Title Yr') and the Safe Streets Act, 42 U.S.C. § 3789d(c)."

The letter continues: "The investigation will focus on alleged patterns or practices of discriminatory police practices and unconstitutional searches and seizures conducted by the MCSO, and on allegations of national origin discrimination, including failure to provide meaningful access to MCSO services for limited English proficient (LEP) individuals."

"In conducting the investigation, we will seek to determine whether there are violations of the above laws by the MCSO," the letter says.

Sheriff Arpaio's efforts to enforce immigration laws have been the focus of previous criticism, but Arpaio has defended his department and the results his ICE-trained officers have netted.

Concerning the DOJ’s investigation, Arpaio told CNSNews.com: “I will not back down. What I am doing is upholding the laws of the state of Arizona, and I will not be persuaded to turn my back on my oath of office as sheriff of this county.”

In an August 2008 press release, Arpaio's office detailed those results.

"While the Sheriff’s illegal immigration and human smuggling operations conducted on the streets and roadways here have netted nearly 2,300 arrests, another very successful effort to locate illegal aliens has been quietly happening inside Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s jails," the release said.

It continues: "Despite the growing criticism of the Sheriff’s illegal immigration fight by some valley politicians and activists, Sheriff Arpaio says 60 detention officers trained by ICE officials have conducted over 106,000 interviews and investigations of inmates booked into jail since April of 2007.

"In those 18 months, 16,000 inmates were determined to be illegal aliens. Either they have already been deported or will be deported after being tried and/or serving their sentences for crimes committed in the valley. The work being done be Arpaio’s detention staff is a likely contributor to the recent reduction in crime in the valley,” the press release added.

"That number of 16,000 represents a full one-third (1/3) of all inmates in the United States who have had holds placed on them after being identified by jail or prison officials as illegal aliens."

The press release goes on to say that 20 percent of inmates in the Maricopa County Jail are illegal aliens and that of those, 2,000 illegal aliens - 70 percent - were arrested for felony crimes.

Those felony crimes committed included the following: forgery, 12 percent; kidnapping, 10 percent; aggravated assault, 7 percent; driving under the influence, 7 percent; drug charges, 27 percent; robbery, 3 percent; murder, 3 percent; and theft, 4 percent.

The Democratic Congress members have also asked Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to launch an investigation into the training provided by ICE.

.Reporting from San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico -- Arrests of illegal immigrants on the U.S.-Mexico border have fallen to levels unseen since the 1970s as the ailing U.S. economy and enhanced enforcement appear to be deterring people from trekking north.

The trend is apparent from San Diego to Brownsville, Texas, but is most dramatically felt on the border's busiest illegal immigrant corridors, which extend through the Mexican state of Sonora to Arizona and California.

In the sleepy Sonoran town of San Luis Rio Colorado, the migrants that once streamed through have all but disappeared. Piles of donated clothing spill from a closet at the town's migrant shelter, and shoeshine boys now outnumber slumbering immigrants at Benito Juarez Plaza.

Just across the border in Yuma County, Ariz., there are days when U.S. Border Patrol agents don't arrest anyone, an almost unthinkable prospect three years ago when the area was the busiest illegal crossing point into the country, with thousands of immigrants flooding across on some days.

"We were in shock," said Ben Vik, a U.S. Border Patrol spokesman, referring to the two days in December when no apprehensions were reported in the patrol sector that protects 126 miles of the frontier.

From October 2008 through February of this year, the Border Patrol arrested 195,399 illegal immigrants, a 24% decrease from the same period last year. The apprehension level is on track to dip to about 550,000 for this federal fiscal year, the lowest level since 1975, when 596,796 immigrants were caught, according to Border Patrol statistics.

The downward trend in arrests -- considered one of the best indicators of illegal immigrant migration -- began a few years ago, about the same time the federal government started fortifying the border with more agents, fencing and infrastructure.

The border enhancements weren't enough on their own to stop immigrants from entering the country. But with the U.S. economy in a tailspin, few incentives remain for immigrants to endure the increasingly difficult crossings.

"A lot of people who would have come here illegally and stayed illegally are not bothering to come to the U.S.," said Demetrios Papademetriou, president of the Migration Policy Institute, a Washington-based think tank. "The information that they are getting basically says there are no opportunities here."

Many immigrants still try. For them, America's economic troubles seem trifling compared with the meager salaries at home. But the current downward trend breaks with past immigration patterns, when federal crackdowns in one place only led immigration flows to shift to other areas.

Few places illustrate the dramatic turn of events as clearly as San Luis Rio Colorado and its sister communities across the border in Yuma County and the southeastern tip of California.

The region's agricultural fields, lined with rows of lettuce, dates and orange trees, have long provided low-paying but steady work opportunities on both sides of the border. But in recent years the area became a major illegal immigrant corridor for people heading to better-paying jobs in Southern California and beyond.

Immigrants in San Luis Rio Colorado, weary from their border-bound journeys, would sleep in the palm-lined plaza in front of City Hall or cool down inside Immaculate Conception Church.

At night they would sweep across the decrepit border defenses, swarming the trailer parks and cookie-cutter developments of San Luis, Ariz. "They used to knock on my door and run through the yard. My kids were always scared," said Samuel Gonzalez, whose two-bedroom stucco house backs to the border.

In 2006, the area became a symbol of get-tough federal enforcement efforts when President Bush visited to view border improvements, including double-fencing, stadium lighting and enforcement roads.

The sector now has one of the longest stretches of contiguous border fencing in the U.S., including a 13-mile, towering steel barrier that sits atop California's Imperial Sand Dunes. It's also one of the few areas of the border where immigrants caught by the Border Patrol face mandatory jail terms, usually 15 days.

In San Luis Rio Colorado, which has lived with the ebb and flow of immigration since the days of the bracero program decades ago, the situation has brought a sense of relief mixed with loss.

Nerida Rosas, the 74-year-old archivist at Immaculate Conception Church, remembers when the church had to build a soup kitchen for immigrants who would pray under the bell towers and offer to sweep the grounds.

"We had to turn away families sometimes, there were just too many," she said.

Later, floods of immigrants forced the city to open a shelter in a sprawling house seized from drug traffickers. It still wasn't enough; scores of immigrants took refuge in Benito Juarez Plaza, attracting smugglers who would accost anyone young and toting a backpack.

Hoping to restore order, the city last year opened an immigrant aid center, where people could call home, get discounted bus fares home and earn a few pesos by obtaining work permits to wipe down car windshields around town.

But last month, only 45 immigrants visited the center. And many of those, city officials said, were people who had left the United States to return home. "There are hardly any immigrants left anymore. They're scared, and there's no work for them," said Carmen Rios, an assistant in the center.

On a recent day, there were a few reminders of the past.

Sitting in the plaza was a lone group of immigrants -- four men, three women and two teenage boys. One young man said they had been arrested by the Border Patrol and had spent two days in jail before being deported.

They faced a dilemma, he said. There was no work in the cornfields in Guerrero, but they were fearful of facing the towering border barriers and potentially more jail time.

But hadn't they heard about the economic troubles north of the border? The young man didn't answer. Instead he put his hand to his lips and mimicked eating a torta. The others nodded in agreement.

"We're hungry," he said.

If an enemy of mine wanted to track me down (likely a lunatic lib blogging troll if there is such a person) all they need is my address to see the layout of my property which is admittedly neat the first time you see it, then it's quite troublesome and problematic after that in my opinion. So today Britain is reporting that a nuclear sub base previously unknown to the public is now terrorist ready which is troubling to say the least for them and people in the immediate areas as they can't just pick up shop and move the thing to a new location now can they? Of coarse they can relocate the subs but not the entire base.

Not to mention the usefulness of this information to our passive enemies like Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, we're an open book to these people and freedom of information can be curbed in a big way and should be when it comes to our national security and our defense department installations. Jury To Illegals: "Rancher Well Within His Rights"

This story was another nutso, "People's Court Gone Wild" chapter where these damn illegal aliens bankrupting the nation were suing one of our fine southwestern ranchers and property owners for basically putting them under citizens arrest until authorities could arrive to make an official arrest after years of property abuse and illegal entry.

All for simply protecting himself and his family endless lawsuits is what he now encounters from these slugs and freeloaders, and this is exactly why I personally despise all illegal aliens of any culture and background with a passion, they seemingly have now gathered more rights than we have while not even in this country legally and therefore not privy to the constitutional protections given us (supposedly, that too is eroding as we know)

The Muslims have also become experts at twisting and manipulating our constitution to say things it wasn't intended for through the help of those activist judges culled from that same woodstock generation now trashing the country and constitution.

Well God bless a jury saw things our way and told these illegals looking to cash in thier lottery ticket to hit the road back to Mexico empty handed for now at least./The precedent set here is a good one for future actions brought be these damn illegals.

Jury backs rancher accused of detaining Mexicans

| National | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle: "TUCSON, Ariz. — A federal jury found Tuesday that a southern Arizona rancher didn't violate the civil rights of a group of illegal immigrants who said he detained them at gunpoint in 2004.

The eight-member civil jury also found Roger Barnett wasn't liable on claims of battery and false imprisonment.

But the jury did find him liable on four claims of assault and four claims of infliction of emotional distress and ordered Barnett to pay $77,804 in damages — $60,000 of which were punitive.

Barnett declined to comment afterward, but one of his attorneys, David Hardy, said the plaintiffs lost on the bulk of their claims and that Barnett has a good basis for appeal on the two counts on which he lost.

'They won a fraction of the damages they were seeking,' Hardy said.

All six plaintiffs are citizens of Mexico, five of whom are living in the United States with visa applications pending, and the sixth resides in Mexico but was allowed into the U.S. for the trial, said Nina Perales, an attorney with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund. She declined to say where in the U.S. they're residing.

Perales called the outcome 'a resounding victory that sends a message that vigilante violence against immigrants will not be tolerated.'" continued

Mexican Soldiers Crossing US Borders & US Government Does Nothing

This has been going on for some time and yet it's treated with disregard by George Bush and the government just as the invasion of Mexican citizens is treated. One would think that when armed soldiers of another country enter through sovereign borders such would be treated as an act of war.

After all, if our soldiers go into Pakistan to chase down Al Queda in those often talked about yet off limits tribal areas in their mountainous region bordering Afghanistan do you think for a second their government or citizens would tolerate it? Not for a second.

So why should we be tolerating this same activity on our southern border by hostile Mexican soldiers? Soldiers who in many ways are acting as agents for underground drug dealing and trafficking activities along with human smuggling activity as well.

Pentagon & Navy's Homer Simpson Moment...Doh!

This is not good news as the Chinese have really managed to exploit the military secrets sold to them by the Clinton administration for campaign contributions. The scandals that Slick should be doing prison time if not facing execution after conviction for treason, but instead having somehow managed to slither through that crisis with nary a scratch on him China made decades of military advances overnight thanks to his presidency.

That damage has now come home to roost 10 years later and half this country wants to put him back in the White House as the puppet master of his wifes puppet regime. Unbelievable isn't even applicable here.

Time To Shut Down American Maddrassa

Vicente Fox Is Truly Quite An Idiot...

And he's been on a little Americano suck up tour begging us Americans to let his amigo's and senoritas to flood our country by forgetting about the border issues and calling all of us out here against illegal immigration xenophobes and racists. He's also on a book tour selling a book here for some reason I still don't quite comprehend, as to who here would want to read something written by this man.

He, I'm sorry to say in my opinion is quite an imbecile. And listening to his so called interviews as I have leads me to believe he thinks we are even bigger idiots than he is. This I think is because, even though in his country he is one of the political and social elite and was able to rise to the presidency, outside third world countries like his that places him in about the 40th percentile of worldy intelligence I'm afraid, and he shows it when he steps into an educated environment like the talk shows he visited yesterday.

I saw him tell the same exact stories from the same script on three different TV networks Tuesday , MSNBC, CNN and FOX because I guess he forgets we Americanos actually have televisions and computers, unlike 90 percent of his countrymen and women. That's why they're all coming here instead of staying there Vicente, they earn more on public aid here than they can working there and that's not even a close one..

He also revealed something that cannot be taken back and is now out there irrefutably thanks to his little interview tour that was quite troubling to finally hear confirmed, and if I didn't hear it with my own ears I woulda chalked it up to this sometimes black helicopter sounding New World Order and NAU stuff that offers lots of rumors and conjecture although not a lot of hard proof of it's existence, until now that is.

High Court Hears Death Cases Today

This would be the cases of the illegals that brutally raped and killed two Texas teenage girls that president Bush again finds himself against the will of most Americans and the government of his home state in protecting the scum that committed these crimes from death penalties ordered by Texas.

President Bush has seemingly done all he can over the past year to alienate those of us that supported him throughout these two terms in some very unpopular moves and decisions including his shamnesty stance on illegal immigration and far too cozy relationships with the Mexican leadership that were puzzling in the least and nefarious at worst.

And now his support of a world court decision in these capital murder cases against the wishes of Texas and US Court and law not to mention the victims parents (regretful Bush voters as well) is the last straw as far as I'm concerned. Not to mention his refusal thus far to pardon the two border agents Ramos and Campean rotting away in prison for that ridiculous prosecution that congress is trying to choke funding off for their incarceration in order to attempt to right this wrong as well.

He has lost any support he had left going into this final year of his presidency and seemingly could give a s**t judging by his actions.

MIT Student Too Stupid To Know What A Real Bomb Looks Like?

Thats what the latest left leaning artsy student to be ignorant enough to dress up like a bomb or something vaguely resembling one is claiming after showing up at Logan Airport dressed like a art deco goof while picking up her boyfriend.

She actually said after being arrested "I wouldn't know what a bomb likes like". My 4 year old nephews knew what a bomb looks like after watching 20 minutes of Loony Tunes. And that little circuit board with a battery she was wearing (below) just needs c-5 and it's a bomb. Doh.

I guess she also forgot or maybe never even knew that 9-11 took place from airplanes originating from Logan airport. Not o mention just a few months ago 2 similar Beavis and Butthead idiots (maybe friends of hers even) placed devices around the city costing them and their dumb employers (Time Warner at the top of the chain) millions of dollars in fines and the city major disruption for a complete day..

She's actually quite lucky she followed the police orders and wasn't killed like this guy was a while back who didn't or couldn't because of language barriers.

And there was a day when I was younger and even not too long ago when flying on an airplane was actually a privilege that was taken pretty seriously, and we all dressed up in our better Sunday type clothes, or at least some sort of decent attire to fly to wherever it was that we were going, at least in my family we did and still do.

We also acted completely civilized from point A to point B, basically as guests sharing common space with entire strangers for at least a few hours that back then with those earlier planes might be your last ones at any moment watching propellers out the windows for 2 hours!!

And in today's planes these might be your last hours if you have Muhammad and Achmed sitting in your section as you never know what will happen between takeoff and landing nowadays.

Today even after 9-11 we still have people that think jumping on an airplane with any attire and any type of behavior they feel like displaying whatsoever is their absolute right. Well it's not.

News Flash To Those Folks : the airlines own these planes!!! ..not you and I, and we are simply renting a seat or two while agreeing to abide by their rules and regulations whatever they are period. Don't like the rules they make, you got 3 options: take a train, drive or buy one.

So what state would you think would be the last one that would water down the drivers license to be obtained easier by illegals by dropping the need for proof of citizenship? New York would be at the top of my list.

Huge Victory For Bush and US

This would be the third country now disarmed of their weapons of mass destruction under the Bush administration, yet where are all the accolades for a job well done diplomatically getting this achieved with this country as well as Libya. The third country is of coarse Iraq which we had tyo do forcefully only because of Saddam Hussein's duplicity and lies for 13 years left a strong leader like Bush at the time and this country no choice after 9-11.

Mexican Trucks Take Over US Roads and Cities

Many people discount this cry as a ploy and creation of the black helicopter theorists and right wing radicals, when in actuality this is indeed a program that is going to happen starting this week in the United States and is the beginning of the end of our sovereign borders.

I'm not a big union man or Teamster fan although the way the unions were built was a very admirable achievement for working people and when they began truly stood for a good thing in America. But, like many good ideas quickly turned sour and greed infected almost immediately starting with James R Hoffa, the man most responsible for the rise of the Teamsters. And of coarse we all know what happened to him.

Now his son has taken a big role in the Union remarkably and now is asking regular Americans to come to the aid of the unions and in this case he is probably right that the introduction of Mexican trucks and their drivers to our roadways can be nothing but a disaster waiting to happen.

And it's happening, on Labor Day if you can imagine.... of all the times and days to start something so bad for the American Worker.

Sikhs Upset About Turban Patdowns,

I say "Tough Turbans" Raj & Haji. They at the TSA are allowed to (rightfully so) ask me and any other potential passenger to remove our hats or head gear at the airlines checkout line and that means everyone flying ON THEIR PLANES NOT YOUR's, so either

(A) take the dog gone turban off or let it be scanned is all they ask,
(B) find another mode of transportation than flying, or better yet my preferred choice...
(C) go back to the Middle East, India or wherever it is you came from and keep the thing on 24 /7/365 for all we care.

But the last time we checked this is still America, and our laws are what matter here, not your religious beliefs. And for American Sikhs to complain about this is even more incredulous , as they know the story here and why this is necessary.

If they cannot selfishly understand the reasoning behind this simple request then they need to get just the hell outta here period..... end of story,.... do not pass go, and certainly no easy lawsuit dollars waiting for you and your lawyer at the end of the rainbow. . OK?

TSA Releases Statement on New Airport Screening Procedures

Sihk coalition Website (Washington, DC) August 22, 2007 – The Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”) released a statement on new airport screening procedures that authorize Sikh turban pat downs.
