To be frank, ALL military men and women both home and abroad can all vote by 'smoke signal' or 'message in a bottle' for all I care if they feel like it, since it's they and ONLY THEY who keep this place free, and without them none of us casts a vote, period.

'Absentee ballots must be sent to overseas military voters at least 45 days before an election to give those voters sufficient time to receive and return their ballots,' Eversole explains. 'The Military Postal Service Agency goes one step further and recommends that absentee ballots be sent to war zones 60 days before an election.'
But legal complaints, news stories and studies all showed dozens of states failing to give soldiers enough time to vote in the 2008 election – resulting in tens of thousands of soldiers' mailed ballots that arrived too late to be counted, perhaps enough to swing, for example, Minnesota's closely contested election of Democrat Senator Al Franken.

Policy Failure: Greece was told that if it wanted a bailout, it needed to consider privatizing its government health care system. So tell us again why the U.S. is following Europe's welfare state model.

Along with transportation and energy, the bailout group, according to the New York Times, wants the Greek government to remove "the state from the marketplace in crucial sectors."
This is not some cranky or politically motivated demand. It is a condition based on the ugly reality of government medicine. The Times reports that economists — not right-wingers opposed to health care who want to blow up Times Square — say liberalizing "the health care industry would help bring down prices in these areas, which are among the highest in Europe."
Of course most of the media have been largely silent about the health care privatization measure for Greece, as it conflicts with their universal, single-payer health care narrative.

The investigation involves "faith-based initiatives" and health-awareness campaigns funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health when Whitaker ran the agency for former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, according to copies of subpoenas obtained under the state's Freedom of Information Act.
Here are some of the organizations named in recent federal grand jury subpoenas sent to four state agencies. All started getting state funding when Dr. Eric Whitaker headed the Illinois Department of Public Health.
• Brothers and Sisters United Against HIV/AIDS (BASUAH): A $2.5 million "social marketing effort" announced by former Gov. Rod Blagojevich and Whitaker in September 2005 to fight AIDS in the African-American community. BASUAH was run by the health department, which a spokeswoman says is "fully cooperating with the subpoenas."
• Let's Talk, Let's Test Foundation: AIDS-awareness group founded by state Rep. Connie Howard (D-Chicago) that has gotten more than $1.9 million in state money since 2006, including $1.2 million from the health department and $500,000 from the commerce department. State officials now are trying to recoup hundreds of thousands of dollars from the defunct not-for-profit, claiming the money was improperly spent. Its former executive director, Lloyd Kelly, couldn't be reached.
• National Black Nurses' Association, Chicago Chapter: Nursing group that puts on health fairs and sponsors scholarships has received more than $905,000 in state money since 2006, including more than $391,000 from the health department. The group didn't return a message seeking comment.
Obama has said he recommended Whitaker for that job, which Whitaker landed in April 2003. The president's friend resigned in October 2007 to join Obama's wife, Michelle, as an executive at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
On Friday, Whitaker defended his work as the state's former top health official, saying he developed "new methods" to help "African-American and other minority communities" get better medical care.
"The faith-based outreach programs at issue in this inquiry were recognized during my tenure by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and others as national models for increasing awareness and preparedness planning for minority populations," Whitaker said in a statement. "The programs were functioning well when I left the department in 2007."
All told, Gov. Quinn's administration turned over copies of six subpoenas sent to four state agencies that show authorities have been seeking information about a variety of health-awareness grants and programs that have cost taxpayers millions of dollars.
One sent to the health department seeks "any and all records" involving "faith-based initiatives" on subjects including "emergency preparedness," "HIV/AIDS," "cervical/breast cancer" and "pandemic flu."

"Grand Junction, Colorado (CNN) -- They are not typical Tea Party activists: A woman who voted for President Obama and believes he's a 'phenomenal speaker.' Another who said she was a 'knee-jerk, bleeding heart liberal.'
These two women are not alone.
Some Americans who say they have been sympathetic to Democratic causes in the past -- some even voted for Democratic candidates -- are angry with President Obama and his party. They say they are now supporting the Tea Party -- a movement that champions less government, lower taxes and the defeat of Democrats even though it's not formally aligned with the Republican Party.
To be sure, the number of Democrats in the Tea Party movement is small. A recent CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll shows that while 96 percent of Tea Party activists identify themselves as either Republican or Independent, only 4 percent say they are Democrats.
Some of these disgruntled voters are taking part in the current Tea Party Express tour. The tour began in Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's hometown of Searchlight, Nevada, on March 28 and is making 44 stops across the nation. It ends in Washington on tax day -- April 15.

In Indiana, state-trained workers flubbed insulation jobs. In Alaska, Wyoming and the District of Columbia, the program has yet to produce a single job or retrofit one home. And in California, a state with nearly 37 million residents, the program at last count had created 84 jobs.
The program was a hallmark of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, a way to shore up the economy while encouraging people to conserve energy at home. But government rules about how to run what was deemed to be a 'shovel-ready' project, including how much to pay contractors and how to protect historic homes during renovations, have thwarted chances at early success, according to an Associated Press review of the program.
'It seems like every day there is a new wrench in the works that keeps us from moving ahead,' said program manager Joanne Chappell-Theunissen. She has spent the past several months mailing in photographs of old houses in rural Michigan to meet federal historic preservation rules. 'We keep playing catch-up.'
The stimulus package gave a jolt to the decades-old federal Weatherization Assistance Program. Weatherization money flows from Washington to the states, where it is passed to local nonprofits that hire contractors to spread insulation and install efficient heaters in people's homes.
Energy officials said the stimulus infusion is on track to create thousands of career-pathway jobs and support an industry that lowers carbon emissions while saving consumers money.
'This is the beginning of the next industrial revolution with the explosion of clean energy investments,' said assistant U.S. Energy Secretary Cathy Zoi. 'These are good jobs that are here to stay.'
But after a year, the stimulus program has retrofitted 30,250 homes - about 5 percent of the overall goal - and fallen well short of the 87,000 jobs that the department planned, according to the latest available figures."

Where I live resides right on the county lines between Crook County (run by all dems) and Lake county which isn't under the dem stranglehold of the crooked Daley regime, and literally on one side of the street gas is 75 cents cheaper a gallon right over the county line and cigarettes on the liberal side? 8, 9 ten dollars a pack. The other side where sanity resides? $3.50

Obama to GOP: 'Go for it': "President Barack Obama challenged Republicans Thursday to bring on the debate if they plan to run on a platform of repealing the health care reform bill he signed into law just two days ago.
'My attitude is: Go for it,' Obama said. 'If these congressmen in Washington want to come here in Iowa and tell small-business owners that they plan to take away their tax credits and essentially raise their taxes, be my guest.'
Obama hit the trail Thursday in Iowa to promote the crowning achievement of his first 14 months in office: a sweeping overhaul of the nation's health care system. And he started his campaign for the new law in the state where his caucus win in 2008 set him on the road to the White House.
Obama framed his latest battle as one against a Republican Party bent on snatching away help just as it's within the average American's grasp.
Obama went on the attack against GOP doomsday predictions. 'Leaders of the Republican Party, they called the passage of this bill 'Armageddon,' Obama said. 'End of freedom as we know it.'
'So after I signed the bill, I looked around to see if there any asteroids falling or some cracks opening up in the Earth,' Obama said. 'It turned out it was a nice day. Birds were chirping. Folks were strolling down the Mall. People still have their doctors.'
It was a mostly supportive crowd, but included several hecklers.
'What about the public option?' a man angrily shouted, interrupting Obama's speech and forcing him to engage on why there was no government-run insurance program in the final bill.
'That's not in it,' Obama replied.
'Why not?' the man yelled.
'Because we couldn't get it through Congress, that's why. So they -- let's -- there's no need to shout, young man, no need to shout,' Obama said."

So they're finally telling the liberal high speed train conductor to pull that thing over because they're getting off, and now.

It had better be soon, because the choices are dwindling, right along with the free market coupled with ALL of our rights being stolen from under our feet in a Trojan horse disguised as Health Care reform because of their electoral stupidity and laziness.
And if it gets any worse than this, we'll all be taking matters into our own hands like never before this November at the ballot boxes and machines, bet on that one.
Furthermore, Obama may not be on the ballot, but he'll be neutered enough by then (seeing these dems are averaging two scandals a week this year) to look for a replacement sooner than planned, at least sooner than the loons had planned, and that's a great thing for America.
For those who were wrong to finally admit a huge mistake was made in the last election is the first step towards their collective "Heeeeeeaaaaaling" that they all love so much, (touchy feely loons) as this seriously needs to be corrected, and we need their assurances they will learn more about history and their candidates next time they bother to vote vowing to never let this happen again, that is letting a communist right through the damn palace gates.

The doctors said the president used medication to try to ease the pangs, they described it as 'nicotine replacement therapy, self-use'.

In 2008, Bush ran a deficit of $485 billion. By the time the fiscal year started on October 1, 2008, it had gone up by another $100 billion due to increased recession-related spending and depressed revenues. So it was $600 billion. That was the real Bush deficit.
But when the fiscal crisis hit, Bush had to pass TARP in the final months of his presidency which cost $700 billion. Under the federal budget rules, a loan and a grant are treated the same. "IT is getting harder for governments to buy United States Treasuries because the US's shrinking current-account gap is reducing supply of dollars overseas, a Chinese central bank official said yesterday.

That of course would be Norway this morning and back in the air a few hours later, plus Hope and Gropenhagen next week to hang with Al the Gang, instead of combining the trips, dumping carbon all the way there and back, like Santa with his endless sack of coal dumping over the entire non Muslim world Christmas eve.
