Perhaps a bit dramatic, but the boy clearly articulated one view of what it's like to vacation at the same destination the Presidential family has chosen - this weekend the Obamas have selected Bar Harbor, Maine - and when the first family takes a holiday, other vacationing families are sometimes inconvenienced.
This morning's youthful complaint followed the news that the sand bar, which appears at low tide and allows tourists to cross over on foot or by vehicle to Bar Island, was closed to the public. An example is a conversation he held with chief of staff John Harris on Nov. 7, 2008, in which the two were still discussing Blagojevich’s plans to swap a Senate appointment for a post in the Obama administration or some high-paying job in the private sector.
The two were reviewing talks with union officials they perceived to be emissaries of Obama. Blagojevich said the emissaries didn’t seem to know exactly what to make of his swap request

Obama thinks LeBron should consider playing for the Bulls
If LeBron James isn’t sure he can win in Cleveland, President Barack Obama thinks there’s an opportunity with his hometown Chicago Bulls.
“You know, like I said, I don’t want to meddle,” Obama told TNT. “I will say this: (Derrick) Rose, Joakim Noah it’s a pretty good core. You know, you could see LeBron fitting in pretty well there.”
Obama was interviewed about a number of basketball subjects by broadcaster Marv Albert on the White House basketball court. The interview will be shown Tuesday night at 8 p.m. EDT. (se my post down below this one for that interview rant.)
James can become a free agent this summer, and his decision whether to leave the Cavaliers is one of the hottest topics in sports.
Though he’s never said he wants out of his native Ohio, there’s speculation he’d consider it after the Cavaliers were knocked out of the playoffs in the second round by the Boston Celtics.
“I think that the most important thing for LeBron right now is actually to find a structure where he’s got a coach that he respects and is working hard with teammates who care about him and if that’s in Cleveland, then he should stay in Cleveland,” Obama said. “If he doesn’t feel like he can get it there, then someplace else.”

Policy Failure: Greece was told that if it wanted a bailout, it needed to consider privatizing its government health care system. So tell us again why the U.S. is following Europe's welfare state model.
The requirement, part of a deal arranged by the IMF, the European Union and the European Central bank, is a tacit admission that national health care programs are unsustainable. Along with transportation and energy, the bailout group, according to the New York Times, wants the Greek government to remove "the state from the marketplace in crucial sectors."
This is not some cranky or politically motivated demand. It is a condition based on the ugly reality of government medicine. The Times reports that economists — not right-wingers opposed to health care who want to blow up Times Square — say liberalizing "the health care industry would help bring down prices in these areas, which are among the highest in Europe."
Of course most of the media have been largely silent about the health care privatization measure for Greece, as it conflicts with their universal, single-payer health care narrative.

Virtually all recipients have incomes near or below the federal poverty line.
While food-stamp use is greatest where poverty runs deep, growth has been especially swift in once-prosperous places hard hit by the housing bust.
The number of recipients has risen by at least two-thirds in 205 U.S. counties, and doubled in about 50 small counties and a dozen sizable ones in the last two years.
That so many Americans are now using food stamps is only one indication that the Obama administration’s economic policies aren’t working, says Howard Schweber, assistant professor of political science and law at the University of Wisconsin.
“The bailout was supposed to get credit flowing again, which was supposed to get small businesses back on their feet, which would then stimulate employment,” Schweber writes in The Huffington Post.
