May 30: Rolling Thunder parks itself within the massive parking lots of the Pentagon. With temperatures reaching 90 degrees on the blacktop, bikers soon began seeking respite in the few shady areas. Tents were set up with food, free water was passed around.

Large motorcycle clubs like the Nam Knights and Viet Nam Vets Motorcycle Club gathered in huge clusters, boasting members from as far flung as California and Texas through to New England. Many were represented by successive generations of vets, including recent Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, and of course family and friends.

Cadet Reading "Kill Bin Laden" DURING Obama Political Snoozer?

Another note.... The guy in the row in front of him doesn't look to be a fan of the president in name only or none too pleased to be there,  because he looks pretty pissed  off about something......lol..  Here's another one too and he looks the same. Kind  of like a hall monitor who's pissed because everyone's making fun of the principle instead of listening to what he's saying which reports said was kind of going on there....

Actually, I'm posting this because it was linked on Drudge way earlier today without the explanation as you can see,  which  says right in the caption I posted down at the bottom of the post that he was reading this book "waiting" for Obama who's known to be perpetually late for almost everything he appears at...

Not "during" the speech as the Drudge screencap snapped above obviously indicated..lol .

I don't think Drudge would have linked to it with that insinuating "headline" saying "during the speech" with such an easy explanation for it available right next to the picture, as is now the case at this moment late Wednesday night. Just wondering, I wouldn't put it past AP to insert it later, seeing the traffic going up on it to save Obama some embarrassment.

But the other one obviously shows the guy in a more relaxed position, indicating the speech was indeed not underway so it kinda looks like that's what Drudge did anyways I guess. :)

However, if this was a Bush speech, you know damn well they would'a blasted that pic all over the 4, 5 and 10 o'clock news on every network and cable channel no doubt either way with a 18 pt headline saying what Drudge did basically..

Obama Kicks The Can Down The Road In Afghanistan, Matthews Calls West Point Enemy Camp

That's all he did and should have done this long ago.

The fact of the matter is this, if 30,000 more AMERICANS are now headed to Afghan land, at the VERY least these dumb assed politicians can untie the soldiers' hands from behind their backs, and let them rout these Taliban killers and everyone else taking up arms against us they find along the way, then get it done and they all come home. Still Obama feels the need to blame Bush, blame this, blame that, just like the child he still obviously can be would do.

For those who skipped it, here's some of the "highlights" or some would conclude "low lights" of Obama's long awaited and even longer overdue speech and movement on this issue, where these 30,000 troops  he's now approving could already have been there doing the job and that much closer to coming home. A day  now thrust further into the future thanks to these Dem iberals putting this issue behind "healthcare for people who don't need it yet" by "taking it away from those like me who do" in fron of the soldier's well being and to them, other more pressing issues than the soldiers winning and returning home after a decade.

And so For that the kids missed this for the first time I can ever recall in my 45 years seeing this special was long in the books and Obama coulda picked any moment but this...remember now.It's all about the children for the dems......lolololololololololololol..

 This speaks volumes about Obama's understanding of the role of a wartime president, not to mention humiliating his very own appointed wartime General, mostly by ignoring and treating both him and his advice on the war he's running as just another urinal at the Trinity United Church .

You know, the place he supposedly visited for 20 years, all the while never hearing a vile thought or words  from his surrogate father,  the Wrong Way Rev Wright while along for the ride.

Nothing Stops Obama From 18 Holes With Tom Friedman

So I see the ragged economy and an terribly riled up conservative populace not to mention an entire mornings' worth of television interviews wasn't enough to carve into Obama's golf game as he plays more links since he became president than he previously had in his entire life..

I don't know about you, but somehow taking up golf at a time when he claims more Americans than ever are unemployed and those who are are about not to be seems a little inappropriate, no? Not to even mention the fact that George Bush quit golfing because of the men and women in harms way, but not Obama...he chooses this time to pick up the game..

And, I guess there's no time for Church with the family as we talked about yesterday, but plenty of time to go screw around on the links for 4 hours (6 in his case probably)

Especially when the guy you're golfing with is supposed to be a fair and balanced journalist....well not at the NY Times though, I forgot.... I don't think president Bush or any other presidents played golf with too many newspeople, do you? Maybe back in the days when corruption was acceptable it was the "in" thing to do perhaps.

Not today in the so called world of "transparency" I'll bet we don't even know his score. Hows that transparent? (it would probably get confused with the next bailout for the newspapers anyhow)

My Way News - E-mails from public overload House Web siteWASHINGTON (AP) - Amid a boisterous debate on health care reform, people flooded members of Congress on Thursday with so many e-mails that they overloaded the House's primary Web site.

Technical support issued a warning to congressional staff that the site - - may be slow or unresponsive because of the large volume of e-mail being sent to members. http://www.house.gov

Jeff Ventura, a spokesman for the House's chief administrative officer, which maintains the Web site, said traffic data was not available and could not be released without the lawmakers' consent.

But anecdotally, he said, the spike in e-mail volume was widely believed to be a result of the health care debate.

"It is clearly health care reform," Ventura said. "There's no doubt about it."

Lawmakers are in their home districts this month for the August recess, where a populist backlash has emerged in some quarters against President Barack Obama's plan to reform the nation's health care system.

Democrats are trying desperately to regain control of the debate, with the White House posting a new Web site designed to dispel what it called "the misinformation and baseless smears that are cropping up daily." House Democratic aides have set up a health care war room out of Majority Leader Steny Hoyer's office. It is designed to help lawmakers answer questions about the legislation.

Ventura said the last time he saw such a significant slow-down in the system was in January, shortly before the House passed an $819 billion bill to stimulate the economy.

Ventura said new technology called "load balancing" is in place to try to handle spikes in volume. So far, the House Web site remains available to the public.

In particular, people are heavily using a link on the site called "Write Your Representative," which helps a voter track down their representative by plugging in their zip code.

Obama's Teleprompter Addiction Becoming Deadly

pretty funny as Obama's teleprompter comes crashing at a white house photo op function and almost gives him a heart attack when he realizes he's gotta talk without it....this is so sad our people don't care he just gets up there and reads like a hired actor and not even good at the acting part.

Something interesting is there are no pictures that exist of a broken teleprompter in a google image search for "broken teleprompter" or "teleprompter broken" search, because this is like the first time this has ever happened, since Obama's the first president to have one mandatory with ten feet at all times........so now these will be the ones that'll show up for the next time.

and yet these coal workers and politicians in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio had enough moderates and outright democrats to get him elected any how!!.....so how sorry for them can we all feel aside from the fact it'll screw up our entire nation in one fell swoop

He's right though, clean coal is an answer to a big part of the oil problem, but some new guy is in town and decides for the world with another 100 people what's best for 300 million of us killing off whole industries in a matter of months?

What the hell is wrong with people to stand by and watch our whole world remade in 6 months by complete strangers like Obama and some of his friends from Chicago here with hardly any pushback at all?

Byrd Blasts ‘Cap and Trade’ - "WHEELING - He is not yet back to work in the Senate chamber, but U.S. Sen. Robert Byrd is opposing 'cap and trade' legislation pushed by the Obama administration.

The 91-year-old Byrd, D-W.Va., was released from an unidentified Washington, D.C. hospital last week after a month-long stay for a staph infection. He expects to return to the chamber before the Senate begins debate on 'cap and trade' - which is tentatively set for this fall, according to Byrd's office.

'I cannot support the House bill in its present form,' Byrd said in a statement."

"I continue to believe that clean coal can be a 'green' energy. Those of us who understand coal's great potential in our quest for energy independence must continue to work diligently in shaping a climate bill that will ensure access to affordable energy for West Virginians. I remain bullish about the future of coal, and am so very proud of the miners who labor and toil in the coalfields of West Virginia."

Byrd grew up in the coalfields of Stotesbury, W.Va., in Raleigh County. Jesse Jacobs, spokesman for Byrd, said the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will begin marking up the "cap and trade" bill later this month, with floor debate scheduled for September or October.

"So it is our hope that yes, Sen. Byrd will be here to vote on the legislation," Jacobs continued. "His return will be determined by his doctors and family members."

"Cap and trade" legislation - also known as House Resolution 2454 - is intended to reduce carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants over the next 40 years. It establishes a program that allows pollution permits to be bought and sold. The measure narrowly passed the U.S. House on June 26 by a vote of 219-212.

High Court Rules for White Firefighters in Discrimination Suit / Yet Another Sotomayor Reversal

A minority judge who engages in outward reverse discrimination in a discrimination case.

Now there's someone I want on the Supreme Court ......In Russia or some other foreign land, not here that is....

Well at least the slim majority of people on the Supreme court today saw that these firefighters got the Supreme Shaft from this Supreme pick of Obama's, and this is just another in a long line of reversals that follow this Obama Affirmative Action pick and should be Supreme fodder for the talk show hosts who I missed this morning.

This is what he did say that has Media Matters up in arms so It must be worth listening to if it catches their liberal basement listening watchdog who's job is to listen to every single word he says so they can take one little slice out of context and bend it into a liberal talking and attack point...

A Washington Post "The Supreme Court today narrowly ruled in favor of white firefighters in New Haven, Conn., who said they were denied promotions because of their race, reversing a decision by Judge Sonia Sotomayor and others that had come to play a large role in the consideration of her nomination for the high court.

The city had thrown out the results of a promotion test because no African Americans and only two Hispanics would have qualified for promotions. It said it feared a lawsuit from minorities under federal laws that said such 'disparate impacts' on test results could be used to show discrimination.

In effect, the court was deciding when avoiding potential discrimination against one group amounted to actual discrimination against another.

The court's conservative majority said in a 5 to 4 vote that is what happened in New Haven."
