God Bless America this Memorial Day, 2010

Today, Memorial day, is of coarse the day set aside where we all recognize the people we owe for these high priced freedoms we so often take for granted, and far far too many of today too often abuse.
To remember and celebrate the lives of those brave soldiers both here with us today and gone, yesterday we wish a great day and our heartfelt, yet far insufficient thanks for the incredible sacrifices they've given in our names, along with their lost brethren, be it by virtue of war or father time, yet still remain close in our thoughts and always in our hearts for what they have given for this country in it's short, but hero filled history.

A proud history seemingly buried from our children in schools today, which leaves it now a history left up to you and I to carry on and tell each and every day, particularly on days such as these.

While they may not be physically with us, they are in our hearts and minds on this day and and most others, as the greater portion (but sadly not all ) of we proud and patriotic Americans appreciate their ultimate sacrifices made on our behalf, and most of all for their country.

Priceless gifts from 'them to us' that 'we must promise' will not fall to the obvious rise of soft tyranny in this nation from within that is at our doorsteps today.

I, we all thank you for all you do and have done for us.

God bless you all, and God Bless America.

Memorial Day History

Three years after the Civil War ended, on May 5, 1868, the head of an organization of Union veterans — the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) —established Decoration Day as a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers.

Maj. Gen. John A. Logan (Chicago Statue Pictured) declared that Decoration Day should be observed on May 30. It is believed that date was chosen because flowers would be in bloom all over the country.

The first large observance was held that year at Arlington National Cemetery, across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. The ceremonies centered around the mourning-draped veranda of the Arlington mansion, once the home of Gen. Robert E. Lee.

Various Washington officials, including Gen. and Mrs. Ulysses S. Grant, presided over the ceremonies. After speeches, children from the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Orphan Home and members of the GAR made their way through the cemetery, strewing flowers on both Union and Confederate graves, reciting prayers and singing hymns.

A Little Musical Memorial Day Tribute...Sing and Play National Anthem

Another little tribute to American Soldiers and our great country on this Memorial Day on my way to the Hawks game this afternoon / evening and it looks like in the rain ...which is good actually, and I'll tell you why: because it means Obama's getting soaked at the local Cemetery there down the road a spell from his south side Hyde Park crib.

Turns out they canceled the event as apparently mother nature's getting him back for BP spill and blowing off Arlington.. ;)

Meanwhile Arlington is Sunny and somber without him, and Joe Biden did a great job I thought. Screw Obama, maybe we SHOULD swap the two out after all and impeach him in December as a nice Christmas present, 'canning' the all wet and 'indifferent' Muslim.

Is God pissed or what? Should have stayed in Washington...

I'll tell you one thing....he messes up this evening game traffic somehow you might see me on the 10 o'clock news... ;)

By the way, watch for the National Anthem at the Blackhawks Game 2 of the NHL Finals on NBC at ..fireworks like you've never seen I guarantee it if they bother to show it, I'm SURE they will.

If you don't know the tradition, go to the bottom of the front page or click here and you will see the Hawks post from Game 1, where a video from the first time it happened is placed as I happened to be there as a spectator for the 1991 All Star Game at the old Madhouse on Madison.

It's not 'my' video, just happened to be at the game as a a season ticket holder til the mid 90's.

Before the house that Jordan Built and the year before the last year the Hawks were last in the finals, although they were swept like rookies right out of the series against the Pittsburgh Penguins, where you can see a young Christine Aguilera sang the national anthem here....

Annual Rolling Thunder Memorial Ride Slides Right By Empty White House

From Fox comes this annual story and news which seems to be the only place year after year where they give this the attention it' due.

I suppose they're all bent at the 'Obama State Run Media' the men and women won't be posing for any of these with the new boss "Commander in Cheat", who's obvious 'guilt' caused him to bail this weekend as being around real patriots give him the 'Slick Willies'.....instead of course opting for a weekend back at the 'concrete homicide jungle' AKA of the south side of Chicago (thanks mostly to he and like minded Daley thank you.)

In fact, in case you haven't heard the news yet, this is what's going down at the Chicago White House..cont..

HOMELAND INSECURITY

Standoff! Nation of Islam confronts Secret Service

President's men in testy showdown with Farrakhan mansion security link

....Nice, it sounds like a normal violence filled weekend back with the Obama Gangster Disciples...

After all, 'who wouldn't' make that choice when presented on Memorial Day while president, instead of being lauded and fawned over on the lawn for the Annual Concert with every other president before him?

Well, Obama and Marxist liberals just like him, of course. That's who would.

I guess he'd rather hang out with the "Nation of Islam" neighbor of Nation Leader Louis Farrahkan at a barbecue showdown with his secret service...What a freakin' bro.

God we warned them all, they wouldn't listen to people like Joseph Farah and so on.

I mean in his case there's only one or two Memorial Days left now ....if he's lucky? No?

Frankly, I'd rather be here, back in the day seemingly afar when adults were actually running the country...

At the Pentagon full slide show here....

May 30: Rolling Thunder parks itself within the massive parking lots of the Pentagon. With temperatures reaching 90 degrees on the blacktop, bikers soon began seeking respite in the few shady areas. Tents were set up with food, free water was passed around.
Large motorcycle clubs like the Nam Knights and Viet Nam Vets Motorcycle Club gathered in huge clusters, boasting members from as far flung as California and Texas through to New England. Many were represented by successive generations of vets, including recent Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, and of course family and friends.

Blackhawks take game 1 in NHL finals against Philly 6 to 5

click pic for Hawks website for details from the game

100th consecutive sellout at he Hawks game which had 11 goals total, a very tense and yet enjoyable game for this Hawks fan watching this one at home.

In a brief synopsis, there were 5 quick goals already by the end of the first period, and at the end of 2 periods 10 goals had already been scored, leaving the Hawks with 5 and the Flyers with 5.

The Hawks came back to score the go ahead goal quickly in the 3rd midway through the period for good, giving them the final 6-5 win.

Game 2 is Monday night at 7 pm right back at the United Center, Memorial day, where the unparalleled 'Blackhawks National Anthem' will be heard round the world as a tribute to the soldiers past and present who gave and give their lives for our freedoms

Just like it was the day it started, when I myself was here below at the Chicago Stadium during Christmastime, at the 1991 NHL All Star game, when a salute to all the soldiers off fighting the Gulf War was then 'heard half way around the world' by us and I'm sure will be exceeded on Memorial day.

The first time the Blackhawks have EVER played this late in the season.

God Bless them all, meaning the soldiers, not the Blackhawks. I mean, I'm a fan but I don't bother God with prayers for sporting events I'm afraid..

Images You Won't See At Arlington Cemetery May 31st 2010, Memorial Day. Obama AWOL

Speaks for itself, and I don't care how many presidents had 'someone do it for them' as it's only been twice and both times the men weren't on vacation smoking doobs and crack while 'back in the hood' as Obama will be no doubt doing.

Why come home to city you've only lived in to get elected president? He has no roots here, He first moved to Chicago in 1984 and returned after graduating from Harvard Law School in 1991 and didnt' move into the home he's in now until a year before he ran for president.

He's been in the White House longer than the "Obama Hyde Park Mansion" that he calls "home".

Why does that offend me? Because he's not a Chicagoan, he's a Nomad who goes where his 'handlers sent him and Michelle to live. That's why, contrarily, my great grandparents, and grandparents were the first homeowners in their neighborhoods in Chicago back in 1905 and again in 1955 out to the suburbs that we're now being forced to flee to avoid the very same thing they left the city for, illegal immigrants and their neighborhoods turning into slums. 3 different generations.

Obama, squat.

Alternately his momma was out chasing drunken, philandering Muslims half way around the worldand he even had to write a damn book to figure out 'who the hell his father was". What a mutt, and he called himself that, not me.

You'll see some 'token' photo's Monday when Obama disrupts a local service in the south suburbs with his 'Million man Muslim Motorcade', but that will consume about 10 whole minutes of his weekend.

Don't be fooled. This man is a Marxist.
