A 45 year old Chicagoan's observations and commentary on top news, pop culture and an accounting of the Obama Regime and their 'statist' power grab from my unabashed, right leaning/conservative point of view..

Here's one of my first posts and observations on a then potential Obama presidency in Feb 07/ I'm no prophet believe you me..... it was all common sense far too many today simply 'lack',
George Mason explained, “(T)o disarm the people (is) the best and most effectual way to enslave them.” Noah Webster elaborated: “Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed
These people have incredible video of illegals, Armed terrorists, you name it invading the country each second of every day..
And to all the dads out there (of which I am not one) including my own Dad, try to have a great time out there today doing whatever it is you have planned for the family, and DO enjoy your day as king of the castle, as tomorrow you know everything will go right back to normal ...lol

Today, Memorial day, is of coarse the day set aside where we all recognize the people we owe for these high priced freedoms we so often take for granted, and far far too many of today too often abuse.
To remember and celebrate the lives of those brave soldiers both here with us today and gone, yesterday we wish a great day and our heartfelt, yet far insufficient thanks for the incredible sacrifices they've given in our names, along with their lost brethren, be it by virtue of war or father time, yet still remain close in our thoughts and always in our hearts for what they have given for this country in it's short, but hero filled history.
A proud history seemingly buried from our children in schools today, which leaves it now a history left up to you and I to carry on and tell each and every day, particularly on days such as these.
While they may not be physically with us, they are in our hearts and minds on this day and and most others, as the greater portion (but sadly not all ) of we proud and patriotic Americans appreciate their ultimate sacrifices made on our behalf, and most of all for their country.
Priceless gifts from 'them to us' that 'we must promise' will not fall to the obvious rise of soft tyranny in this nation from within that is at our doorsteps today.
I, we all thank you for all you do and have done for us.
Three years after the Civil War ended, on May 5, 1868, the head of an organization of Union veterans — the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) —established Decoration Day as a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers.
Maj. Gen. John A. Logan (Chicago Statue Pictured) declared that Decoration Day should be observed on May 30. It is believed that date was chosen because flowers would be in bloom all over the country.
The first large observance was held that year at Arlington National Cemetery, across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. The ceremonies centered around the mourning-draped veranda of the Arlington mansion, once the home of Gen. Robert E. Lee.
Various Washington officials, including Gen. and Mrs. Ulysses S. Grant, presided over the ceremonies. After speeches, children from the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Orphan Home and members of the GAR made their way through the cemetery, strewing flowers on both Union and Confederate graves, reciting prayers and singing hymns.
Today long time Obama confidant admitted reluctantly in an interview with Pravda's "Daily Worker" that Obama was indeed born in Kenya, and his mother quickly came up with the idea that should he ever become president of the US, it sure would be funny if everyone thought he was born in Hawaii.
So they hurriedly called the local Oahu paper and placed a birth announcement and hoped for the best that one day, their own little Kenyan born Barry could some day become president and fulfill the longtime liberal and black liberation movement's dream of redistributing America's wealth to all the lazy and stupid fuck's around the world.
They
also released the FIRST official certificate which they say proves once
and for all the president was indeed born in Kenya and it was officially checked by FACT CHECK so we know it's real for sure if that's the case!!
See, here they are holding it, that proves everything!
Sorry, gotcha....Even though I think he WAS born there....you'd have to be, to become the Marxist he's become.
A little off topic but this turned out to be a nice 2 weekend 10 day vaca for the US government huh? Thanks to being off all last week for snow, and two weekends plus today, holy productivity Batman.....are we being billed for this shit or what?|
Well today at least let's we celebrate when presidents were great.
Enjoy the holiday, as next year there will probably be a movement to change the day to Obama day, Allah be with him.
Anyhow, this op ed was good, with some information I didn't know check it out ;)
CSMonitor.com: "America's literary strong suit has always been humor. It's when they reach for rectitude that Americans become comic. Take holidays. In February we try to honor our presidents, but we can't figure out which ones we pay tribute to or even how to spell the holiday.
Is it Presidents Day or President's Day or Presidents' Day?
Life used to be simpler. George Washington, the father of our country, was celebrated on his birthday, Feb. 22. But society has all but erased the accomplishments of the most dynamic figure to ever walk on the American stage. Beginning in 1971, we spinelessly designated the third Monday in February as Presidents' Day.
A perfect fit for auto dealers!
One school of thought holds that Presidents' Day now honors both Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Horsefeathers! It would seem the celebrations of our two greatest presidents are now dictated by auto dealers and department stores that lobbied for one super February holiday to boost mid-winter sales. One senses a case of commerce driving history and holidays, the result being that neither of our greatest president's birthdays is celebrated on the dates they were born (Lincoln was born on Feb. 12).
In the 1960s, '70s, and '80s, there were also attempts to celebrate and consolidate Presidents' Day into a kind of American political stew pot with regional variations. In Massachusetts, the day honors occupants of the White House who hailed from there: John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Calvin Coolidge, and John Kennedy.
In Virginia there is no Presidents' Day. It's legally only George Washington's birthday.
In Alabama, Presidents' Day honors George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. But it does have a second faux president's day: Jefferson Davis's birthday on June 3. Davis was president of the Confederate States of America and is best remembered for advocating the violent overthrow of the Constitution of the United States.
If you're not already persuaded that lumping together holidays is a bad idea, consider March 8. It's International Women's Day, National Nasty Day, and my wife's birthday. My wife was only mildly amused at the coincidence."continued

"Bill Murray, while backstage in the Joy Behar Show green room, explains why Groundhog Day is his favorite holiday." Don't worry, you don't have to suffer through Joy Behar in the clip.
Well today's the day, as long as Punxatawny Phil doesn't have a heart attack which would drive the PETA people over the edge it's another Feb 2nd in the books today.
