Obama, Russia wrap up new nuke deal - America Weakened Even More Today

And now he's actually kept one of his worst promises, and like everything he's done so far he's weakened America in all kinds of ways, including many we can't even imagine or contemplate unintended consequences along with intentionally rendering 10 trillion dollars worth of American ingenuity and security freaking obsolete and useless, ON PURPOSE! (with one of the most deep down, distrusting under the surface enemy governments of America, swell).

Are you convinced Obama is here to weaken our country to so called "level the playing field" for the rest of the world, who can't keep up with us without handicapping us?   I happen to call it "knee capping us" and he'll get both knees, and we'll be calling him Barry Gillooly when he's done.

Obama, Russia wrap up new nuke deal - 

The Oval: Tracking the Obama presidency:   "The Obama White House announced a new nuclear arms reduction treaty with Russia this morning, saying it 'advances the security of both nations, and reaffirms American and Russian leadership on behalf of nuclear security and global non-proliferation.'

President Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev -- who spoke by phone this morning -- will meet in Prague on April 8 to sign a new version of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, said the White House announcement.

Obama, who gave a major speech on nuclear non-proliferation last year in Prague, discusses the new proposal briefly at 10:45 a.m.

The 'New START' treaty 'represents their shared commitment to 'reset' U.S.-Russia relations so that we cooperate substantively and effectively on issues of mutual interest along many dimensions,' said the statement.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Mike Mullen will brief reporters about the new agreement later this morning."

In fact, as I said earlier, this is Obama trying to please everyone and pleasing no one,  and even this has to be disappointing if not outright angering to the troops in the field waiting for this anti-climactic moment to finally come.

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges for Capturing Most-Wanted Terrorist

FOXNews.com: "Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.

Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, SO-2, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement.

Now Barack Obama Sending Olive Branches To More Terrorists: "Taleban can be involved in Afghanistan future"

Same-sex marriage rights a step closer in District of Columbia

CNN.com: "WASHINGTON (CNN) -- On the same day that Vermont's House and Senate voted to override GOP Gov. Jim Douglas' veto of a bill legalizing same-sex marriage in the state, the Washington City Council voted 12-0 Tuesday in favor of allowing same-sex marriages performed in other states to be recognized in the nation's capital."

But nothing is set in stone yet.

The Washington council is expected to hold a final vote on May 5. The bill would then go to Mayor Adrian Fenty, a Democrat who supports gay marriage but told WTOP.com Tuesday that he has yet to review the legislation.

If approved, the measure would then encounter its biggest potential hurdle: It would be sent to Congress for a legislative review and vote, setting up what would amount to a straight up-or-down vote on same-sex marriage.

Because Washington is not a state, its legislation must pass congressional muster. Some measures approved by overwhelmingly Democratic Washington voters, including a restrictive gun law and a proposal decriminalizing medical marijuana use, have been vetoed by Congress in recent years.

"This is a right that should be enjoyed by all of our citizens," Council Member Jack Evans, a Democrat, said in an interview with WTOP. "Today is another major step toward the ultimate goal of all of us living in a city and a country where everyone is treated equally."

The Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, urged federal lawmakers not to intervene.

"We look forward to the final Council votes, and urge Mayor Fenty to sign this common-sense legislation," Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese said. "We also hope that Congress will respect the Council's votes and will respect the District of Columbia's choice to provide equal recognition for couples who have legally entered into relationships in other jurisdictions."
