Chicago Sun Times....Conservative firebrand columnist/blogger Michelle Malkin came to Chicago Thursday night to slam President Obama in his hometown and to slap Republicans who work with Obama instead of fighting him.

“Many of you fight not just the Culture of Corruption among Democrats but the culture of corruption that has paralyzed and plagued much of the Republican Party nationally and locally,” Malkin told 250 members of the United Republican Fund of Illinois.

And Malkin made it clear to this crowd at the Chicago Hilton — site of the 1968 Democratic Convention and riot — that she believes Illinois and Chicago are “Ground Zero” for political corruption in America.

“When I was finishing writing 'The Culture of Corruption,' I looked up at the map of the United States and saw Chicago and I said, ‘It’s all your fault!’ It’s all you here in Chicago, you know the White House and its tax cheats, crooks and cronies better than anyone else in the country,” Malkin said. “You tried to tell your friends around the country and they wouldn’t listen and now they’re having tremendous buyer’s remorse.”

Many of the most conservative Republican candidates who will file for office in Illinois next week were there to cheer Malkin on: Adam Andrzejewski and Dan Proft, who are running for governor; U.S. Senate candidate Patrick Hughes; and congressional and state legislative candidates.

An awkward moment came when Malkin was criticizing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and a member of the audience shouted out that former Republican House Speaker Denny Hastert was just as bad. Hastert’s son Ethan, who is running for his father’s old seat, was also in attendance. continued

Chicago Legend and Sun-Times columnist Robert Novak dead at 78

The left must be loving this one as much as they enjoyed the death of media star and all around good guy Tony Snow a little over a year ago... and like Snow, he will be greatly missed by the conservative community as yet another of the dwindling numbers of such individuals within the ever lurching left media club of today, a group that consists of nothing more than bleeding heart liberals from newsroom to newsroom.

He and his wit and opinions will be missed by many, as a hard working columnist who actually broke news as opposed to simply talking and pontificating about it, like his fellow Chicago columnist who passed before him a few years back, one Mike Royko, who is now replaced in spirit by yet another hard working columnist who bucks the Daley Monarchy, John Kass.

I however did not particularly appreciate his leaving Scooter Libby hanging out to dry during the whole Valerie Plame scene that he himself was at the center of, as he refused to divulge certain details and sources that would have shelved that whole tiresome Plame scene long before it took on a life of it's own as we all know far too well from the Bush years.

Rest in peace Mr Novak, and prayers go out to his family and loved ones on this sad day for them and others like me, who read his MUST READ columns for decades and decades.

“He was someone who loved being a journalist, love journalism and loved his country and loved his family, Novak’s wife, Geraldine, told the Sun-Times on Tuesday."

Novak’s remarkable and long-running career made him a powerful presence in newspaper columns, newsletters, books and on television.

On May 15, 1963, Novak teamed up with the late Rowland Evans Jr. to create the “Inside Report” political column, which became the must-read syndicated column. Evans tapped Novak, then a 31-year old correspondent for the Wall Street Journal, to help with the workload of a six-day-a-week column.

Evans and Novak were the od d couple: Evans a Philadelphia blue blood and Yale graduate; Novak from Joliet, Ill. who attended the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana campus.

Novak handled the column solo after Evans retired in 1993. The Chicago Sun-Times has been Novak’s home paper since 1966.

Robert David Sanders Novak, 78, was born and raised in Joliet and his first newspaper jobs were with the Joliet Herald-News and, while a student at the University of Illinois, the Champaign-Urbana Courier. Novak maintained a lifelong tie to the University of Illinois with the school creating the Robert D. Novak chair of Western Civilization and Culture in 200X.

Mrs. Novak said that her husband passed away at 4:30 a.m., returning home after being hospitalized between July 10 and July 24. Novak’s malignant brain tumor was discovered July 27, 2008.

Yahoo! News: "NEW YORK – Monotone TV personality Ben Stein has been stripped of his Sunday New York Times business column because of his work as a pitchman for a credit monitoring company.

New York Times spokeswoman Catherine Mathis released a statement Friday that said the newspaper decided it would not be appropriate for Stein to pitch for FreeScore.com while writing his column.

An e-mail requesting comment from the former host of Comedy Central's 'Win Ben Stein's Money' quiz show was not immediately returned.

Earlier this year, Stein withdrew as the University of Vermont's commencement speaker over complaints about his critical views of evolution in favor of intelligent design.

Jimmy Z Radio Show Throws Me A Cyber High Five

If you haven't heard or seen of this man and his internet radio show, you're really missing out if you're a conservative info hound and radio junkie as I am, a hobby of sorts which came long before my passion for blogging harking back to the early days of the Rush Limbaugh show in the 80's during my high school and college decade here in Chicago and at UVA in Charlottesville VA.

I first noticed Jimmy Z by seeing his name on a few web buttons for his Blogtalkradio show, and frankly, between the giants I listen to from goal post to goal post Monday thru Friday with a personal schedule of Laura from 8-11, Rush from 11-2, Glenn Beck from 2-4 which is when his tv show comes on and then Michael Savage and a podcast of Dennis Miller through the evening hours to wind up the day there obviously isn't any time for any newcomers to the schedule.

For the most part, not to take away anything from any other Blogtalk participants, I just don't find any of the offerings out there to appealing although I'm sure there's thousands who are talented and worth a listen from time to time.

In fact I keep my laptop on the desktop tuned in to these shows while working and catching the tube out of the corner of my eye, so I can hear as much of them and their respective shows as possible while working here at home each day. And when a story or topic comes up that grabs my attention, the work gets pushed to the side momentarily as I start bangin' away on the blog to vent my opinions to my always listening blogspot home, which is frankly about the only thing that'll listen to my political rants for the most part during the workday, as most of my closest friends and clients don't really share the same passion for the internet, politics and or blogging as I do..

Anyways, I happened to catch Mr Z while both of us were engaged in quite a battle with some ObaMorons on the Obama Open Dialogue site that many of us have been doing our very best to overrun the site with facts and more facts, in order to educate the ObaMorons about their false Messiah's many many puzzling deceptions which they all deny with no basis for doing so other than outright Bush and conservative hatred.

This movement has been both encouraged and reported on at length by WorldNetDaily and anyone out there can participate by jamming up the site with Birth certificate inquiries and requests, and if choosing to do so as well, please do the entire cause a favor by being civilized and energized on the facts, and don't be drawn into ad hominum attacks as hard as that is to do when in battle with such a misguided enemy per se, which happens to be the only defense for Obama's behavior the left really has in this argument.

Calling all we detractors and patriots defending the constitution as Birther's and extremists just for starters and naming the most common printable adjectives used by the vernacularly challenged Obamabots

So, continuing on, I admired both his sharp wit armed with knowledge on the subject, along with his tenacity while being mobbed by the ObaMoron Mafia, so I looked up the show from his Nickname and gave it a listen.

I immediately enjoyed it's professional presentation and again Jimmy's knowledge of the cause so I linked up his show in the left sidebar as you can see for yourself and in return he too added a little button and also had this to say at the outset of the show, which was then put to video by another listener called Sarge who blogs at http://sgthartsock.blogspot.com/

In closing my recommendation to all my friends who enjoy conservative talk radio give Jimmy Z and his couple hour long daily radio show a bit of valuable time and I guarantee it'll be time well spent" fo' sho' ...yo' ."(my mocking of the rap culture)

Jack Kemp, former quarterback and Top Conservative Died Saturday

It's a shame that after being sick for quite some time apparently Mr Kemp succumbed to his particular illness as was reported by an official spokesperson Edwin J Feulner, who was a campaign adviser of his, at his Bethesda Maryland home outside of Washington.

Kemp had announced in January 2009 that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He said he was undergoing tests but gave no other details at that time and remarkably was able to keep the details private in this day and age of shrinking privacy protections getting smaller by the millisecond under this present Obama regime.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, another leading conservative voice from Ky. called Mr Kemp 'one of the nation's most distinguished public servants. Jack was a powerful voice in American politics for more than four decades.'

I'm sure other top voices in politics will weigh in with well deserved eulogies in the coming days, my memories of him are that I am old enough to remember Kemp's first career, as a premier quarterback of 14 years in the CFL as well as the NFL spent the majority of on one of the crappiest teams in the old AFL, the Buffalo Bills.

A stop where he also spent some quality time in the offensive backfield handing the ball off in between passes to this other well known NFL player and star but rookie at the time, a running back named OJ Simpson, the one once criminally acquitted double murderer later found culpable through a civil judgment now doing time in prison for a clumsy three stooges like armed robbery as most of us know.

After football Kemp served in the Army reserves in the earlier part of his illustrious career as did many star athletes of those days, a far cry from the millionaire crybabies the professional sports leagues are filled with today.

Kemp was one of the original athletes to make the leap into politics following their usually stellar careers, and was again a leading conservative voice also named as Bob Dole's running mate in the failed campaign against Slick and Gore the bore in '96. A man who I'll miss hearing on the talk radio and cable news circuit, and may he rest in peace and prayers to his friends and family for their as well as America's loss..

Here's one of the better anecdotes I came across on the wire this morning demonstrating Kemp's highly competitive spirit and demeanor.

His choice as Dole's 1996 running mate was seen as a way for the Republican Party to reach groups of voter that Dole could not. And it came even after Kemp endorsed Steve Forbes for the nomination - a move many considered political suicide - and declared himself a "recovering politician."

Dole's more sober demeanor contrasted sharply by Kemp's high-spirited personality, which was recalled in various accounts, including one by Marlin Fitzwater, Bush's press secretary.

Fitzwater wrote in his memoirs about a time when Kemp lunged at Secretary of State James Baker III in the Oval Office. The housing secretary was "nagging, nagging, nagging" Bush to recognize the breakaway Soviet satellite of Lithuania and Baker, the color rising in his face, screamed an epithet at Kemp, Fitzwater recalled. Kemp bounded across the furniture and grabbed at Baker's throat. They were pulled apart to avoid a fistfight.
