Steve Vaus, whose 1992 song WE MUST TAKE AMERICA BACK got him blacklisted in the main stream music industry will perform the new version of the rousing anthem as the grand finale of the San Antonio Tea Party in front of the Alamo tomorrow night. Officials expect the Alamo Tea Party to be one of the largest in the nation with attendance predicted to be 15,000. Also appearing at the event are Glenn Beck and Ted Nugent.
Vaus, a two-time Grammy nominee and Emmy Award winner was signed to RCA records in 1992 for the original release of the song. The song was hitting the top of the charts and was one of the most requested songs at country radio that year. But when big city program directors balked at giving airtime to the song's conservative themes RCA dropped Vaus. RCA also prohibited Vaus from re-recording or re-releasing the song for five years.
Since it's release a few weeks ago the new version of WE MUST TAKE AMERICA BACK has been downloaded and/or previewed on Vaus' website over 100,000 times. It remains available for free download at http://www.SteveVaus.com
