Government Owned Obama Motors' Volt's price sure isn't the "people's car" as far as sticker price goes

ObamaMotors follows in the footsteps of the Third Reich and creates an automobile being called the "VOLT", which is a tribute done essentially at the behest of Der Fuhrer Obama, just as was done by Hitler who in WWII was the 'driving force' behind the creation of the 'People's Car' which to Americans was and still is known as the VW Beetle.

An auto manufactured by a state run company now known to most of the world today as Volkswagen, that is of course 'known' to most everyone in the world with the exception of those educated in the past 15 years here in these liberally decimated and hijacked schools of the US.

One time 'learning institutions' which have now been demolished and rebuilt in the old Fascist and Soviet indoctrination vein creating "young pioneers" instead of Good Americans which are run into the ground more to suit the unions than anyone else.

GM Volt's price induces some sticker shock: "The long-anticipated Chevrolet Volt, General Motors' electric car, will cost $41,000, the company announced Tuesday, leaving consumers to decide whether its environmental appeal is worth a price far above that of similarly sized conventional autos.

Electric-car technology has been around for years, but the high cost to make the vehicles has prevented automakers from producing them for the mass market. The price announcements for the Volt and its electric rival, the Nissan Leaf, have been highly anticipated as a result. Nissan, the only other major manufacturer expected to bring such a vehicle to market this year, said the Leaf will cost $32,780.

GM and Nissan are relying on a $7,500 federal tax credit for buyers of electric vehicles to offset some of the added cost, and they're hoping that the allure of their novel power source will make up the rest.

'The Volt is a game-changing product,' said Tony Posawatz, GM's vehicle line director for the Volt, which is expected to hit showrooms in November 2011.

Although the prices are high, enthusiasts say that electric cars can reach a large, untapped market for vehicles with little or no tailpipe emissions.

The Volt can travel 40 miles on its battery charge and an additional 340 miles on a gasoline-powered generator. The all-electric Leaf has a range of 100 miles.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, then-Sen. Barack Obama pledged to put 1 million plug-in vehicles on the road by 2015.

People In Britain Fight Google's Street Views & Good For Them

I've written about this a few times and this below is from my last post where one of Britain's hidden Nuclear sub bases was uncovered by Google Earth thus adding it to Jihadding terrorists places to visit in the future, especially with so many of them making Britain their new home....

Yet another example today comes this time from British citizens themselves demanding Google's street view mapping be scaled back if not entirely revamped allowing every single person, business and every government entity who wishes, to opt out of the street level mapping and satellite imagery as this service detail is only of any real use for nefarious purposes.

For instance here are the mapping images of my residence in Buffalo Grove Illinois, as this id the image that comes up right to my kitchen window practically since I live off a main thoroughfare, this is a little invasion of privacy if you ask me and were I given the option I'd have it taken down and may do so now that these Brits have done it..

If an enemy of mine wanted to track me down (likely a lunatic lib blogging troll if was such a person after me as I have no enemies) all they need is my address to see the layout of my property which is admittedly neat the first time you see it on Google Maps, then the novelty wears off and it's quite troublesome and problematic after that in my opinion.

"Google was forced to remove a photograph of a naked child from its Street View service last night as a row over internet privacy escalated into one about public safety.

The Independent on Sunday alerted the internet search giant after finding the image of the toddler, playing at a family summer picnic in a garden square in north London, captured permanently on the revolutionary mapping system. Britain's privacy watchdog, the Information Commissioner Richard Thomas, is considering an investigation into Google if more images of naked children are found to have been picked up by its cameras and made available to internet users.

Google has had hundreds of requests for images to be removed since it launched Street View on Thursday, including pictures of members of the public leaving sex shops or vomiting in the street. But the pictures of young children suggest the service could be exploited for more sinister purposes.

Last night it also emerged that Tony and Cherie Blair are among hundreds of people who have demanded that close-up photographs of their homes be removed. The Blairs' home in Connaught Square, wes"

Pictures of Downing Street were also taken down, although it is not a private address and the location is photographed by millions of tourists every year.

The images of the children were taken last summer and show a typical scene of garden square life in a quiet side-street.

The IoS is not naming the address for privacy reasons, but the square is just yards from a Cabinet minister's home, although the children are not related to that minister.

The images of the garden square were removed by Google within an hour of the company being informed yesterday. The picture had been found by this newspaper within only 10 minutes, suggesting there could be many similar images on the website.

The Tory MP Edward Garnier said: "The right to privacy, and not to become the victim of some corporation's profit-making activities, is clearly something that needs to be protected. We all have an expectation that our privacy should not be invaded or exploited for commercial purposes."

A spokesman for the Information Commissioner's Office said: "We will consider the IoS story carefully. Images of children must be properly blurred. If there is an underlying problem, for example if what has been uncovered is systemic, then we will take up the matter with Google.

"It is Google's responsibility to ensure all images of adults and children are satisfactorily blurred. Individuals who feel that an image does identify them [and are unhappy with this] should contact Google direct to get the image removed.

"Individuals who have raised concerns with Google about their image being included – and who do not think they have received a satisfactory response – can complain to the ICO."

A spokeswoman for Google said last night: "We will remove these pictures as quickly as possible." She insisted that the pictures had been taken on a public road – although the street is not a thoroughfare. "This is still on the side of a public road. It [the camera] takes pictures at any time, and it [records] a fleeting moment."

Asked whether Google was concerned that there would be other pictures of children, for example outside schools, the spokeswoman said: "Most of the faces are blurred. If they haven't been, parents can hit a button and remove it [the image]. They show what is going on in the street at a particular moment; they are not live."

Google has defended its use of the mapping service, which covers more than 22,000 miles and 25 UK cities, saying that the degree of clarity of the images is no different to those shown in estate agents' literature.

But there are question marks over whether, in reality, an estate agent would be able to take photographs of naked young children playing outside, without being challenged.

In a fresh twist, the Metropolitan Police denied claims by Google that it had been consulted about Street View prior to its launch. A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: "We have not been involved in discussions with Google regarding their product development."

After earlier insisting that "99.99 per cent" of faces featured in Street View were blurred, Google admitted yesterday that this had been a "figure of speech" as it was clear that thousands of people can be identified. "The technique is not totally perfect," the spokeswoman said. "The idea is not to blur every single face, only those that can be clearly identified."

Among faces not obscured was a police officer standing guard outside the London home of Jacqui Smith, the Home Secretary, which was at the centre of a row over her expenses.

The Blairs' grand Georgian house, with two police officers stationed outside, can still be viewed from an angle, but a close-up image of the property has been removed. A spokesman for the Blairs could not be contacted for comment. Google refused to comment on the Blairs' individual case, but said images were being blacked out at the "user's request".

The company's discomfort was compounded by a former criminal, Michael Fraser, who wrote in The Sun yesterday that Street View was a "gift to criminals".

Germans in the country's northern state of Schleswig-Holstein are threatening to take legal action against Google because of fears that its photographs of the region's towns and streets are in breach of the country's strict privacy laws.

A campaign against the internet giant has been launched from the small provincial town of Molfsee, near Kiel, and is being eagerly watched by dozens of other towns and cities in the region which has a population of close to 3 million.

"We are not going to let this happen," said Reinhold Harwart, Molfsee's conservative mayor. "This is opening people's houses and homes to criminals. All this information is taken back to the United States and being processed. This can't be allowed," he told the IoS.

Similar concerns have been voiced by Marit Hansen, the state's deputy officer in charge of data protection, and by Peter Schaar, Germany's federal data protection chief, who said he has major misgivings about Google Street View. His office is currently investigating the issue.

The campaigners want Google to be obliged to obtain a street permit, similar to those held by vendors and market stall holders, before they take photographs. "We would then have the option of refusing them permission, which is what we would do," Mr Harwart said.

Google's spokesman for northern Europe claims, however, that Germany's streets are public property and that the concern does not need a permit to take pictures. "We are not a tool designed for criminals," a spokesman said.

Google Street View started photographing Germany in 2008 and the company has already taken pictures of many of the country's major towns and cities. Harwart said his campaign planned to sue Google Street View if the concern was found to be in breach of privacy laws.

The Japanese obsession with human-like robots is one technological advancement our society can really do without in this blogger's opinion. Have you ever wondered what they're talking about whenever you hear in news that Microsoft is being sued by this company or that company over this software or this platform suing Microsoft for this reason or another? It's sure confusing and of no interest to most, however it should be.

Man Burns Down Trailer in Online Feud:

My Way News -"ELM MOTT, Texas (AP) - A Navy man who got mad when someone mocked him as a 'nerd' over the Internet climbed into his car and drove 1,300 miles from Virginia to Texas to teach the other guy a lesson.

As he made his way toward Texas, Fire Controlman 2nd Class Petty Officer Russell Tavares posted photos online showing the welcome signs at several states' borders, as if to prove to his Internet friends that he meant business.

When he finally arrived, Tavares burned the guy's trailer down.

This week, Tavares, 27, was sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading no contest to arson and admitting he set the blaze.

Russian Sources Tell ABC News U.S. Equipment May Have Contributed to Glitch (oh, that settles it ABC...)

ABC News: "A source inside the Russian space agency has told ABC News that there could be a 'fatal flaw' with the International Space Station's main computer. "After working for a couple of days, the Russians still have no idea what the problem is, but they are pointing the finger at the Americans.

They say that setting up the solar array sent electromagnetic interference into the computer, shutting it down.The president and vice president of the state-owned Energia Space Rocket Corp., which operates the flight, told ABC News while they are still trying to fix the failure from the ground, they now believe they will have to send up a completely new power supply for the computer system. read more

While the failure means the Russians have no flight control, they believe that the U.S. portion of the station can control the station's flight in the meantime.

They say they're working on a plan with the Americans for this now. In the simplest terms, they have no orientation control now and are reliant on the Americans to "drive" the station. read more

So it's the American's fault but yet the Americans are relied on to drive the station and The US portion of the station can control the flight. However, since America supplies 90 percent of the funds and ingenuity of the entire project in the first place it's hard for anything not to be the fault of America I guess.

So Russia, whenever your ready to contribute more than "Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi" type criticisms and something more substantial than a few cosmonauts and 60's era type rockets (which are incredibly reliable we must acknowledge) let us know.

Meanwhile keep up the blame game as we see it's incredibly effective in the liberal run congress so far seeing as they haven't been able to accomplish a damn thing since elected 8 months ago.

Only The Guilty Of One Thing or Another Worry About These Things

That would be the privacy issues surrounding the use of biometrics and other high tech tools for fighting crime in todays world. Contrary to their belief, in my opinion and many real experts it's a foolproof way to exonerate the innocent more than anything else, and that's simple reality.

Just ask any guy released from prison lately that was imprisoned due to false allegations by victims or arrest by police and erroneously prosecuted on the word of such only to be later exonerated by newly available dna tests what he or she thinks about this technology, then cry about privacy issues they supposedly have. Those Duke rape suspects would be an example of the latest false allegations that may have stuck were it not for the use of DNA tests.

It's always ACLU type liberal defenders of the wayward misfits in society who claim they are falsely accused or racially profiled on one hand and then on the other hand claim invasions of privacy that worry about these things because 9 times out of ten they are the criminals that would stand to suffer from this technology. The same goes for the millions of illegal immigrants floating around the country unabated.

This Is A Somewhat Sad Milestone For the Printing Age....

I myself used to be a Web Pressman at the Chicago Tribune Freedom Center through most of the eighties after high school and college, then left there and moved then to large commercial sheetfed offset printing here due to the trends in publishing even then when it was evident that those high paying pressman jobs would become fewer and fewer as the years passed.

I fortunately moved to the digital pre-press department in the early nineties after about 4 years running Komori Lithrone's at Aim as that company grew, also taking up typesetting and then desktop publishing in addition learning computers while at home partly in anticipation of this demise of the now called "Dinosaur Media" that we saw in closures, consolidations and layoffs in the printing industry.

And then, personal illness finally ended my career in printing altogether in 1998 and I began to do much of that pre press work from my home and my small business there for many of the contacts I made in my printing days and small printers that didn't have the computers or staff yet in the years that followed into the present

But this monumental digital change is also being hastened by the obvious and overt left wing slant of many of these old time leading publications, thus leading to dwindling circulations just as much as the digital age taking hold and as a result of that we will see more of them closing down like the one below in the very near future.

This Kind Of Info Makes One Rethink Use Of Google

Google maps is indeed a useful tool, but this company must be reigned in as it has been known for some time now that this technology supplied by US satellites for the most part is being used by our enemies to kill coalition soldiers. Killers and terrorists on camels with slingshots, homemade bombs, molotov cocktails with a New York Times in hand & satellite technology killing coalition soldiers with our technology, unfreakin believable ...... go figure.

During a time of war, at the least this info should be dated so as to be innacurate if not elininated entirely during these times. The inaction of google regarding this decision makes me have to seriously consider switching my blog to Wordpress and search tools for one more reason ahead of all the others I already have....

Terrorists 'use Google maps to hit UK troops'

The Daily Telegraph GMT 13/01/2007 :Terrorists attacking British bases in Basra are using aerial footage displayed by the Google Earth internet tool to pinpoint their attacks, say Army intelligence sources.

Documents seized during raids on the homes of insurgents last week uncovered print-outs from photographs taken from Google.

The satellite photographs show in detail the buildings inside the bases and vulnerable areas such as tented accommodation, lavatory blocks and where lightly armoured Land Rovers are parked.

Written on the back of one set of photographs taken of the Shatt al Arab Hotel, headquarters for the 1,000 men of the Staffordshire Regiment battle group, officers found the camp's precise longitude and latitude..full story

Canadians began carefully scrutinizing their loonies following the Virginia-based Defense Security Service's claim that specially doctored coins were a new tool of the trade for shadowy figures out to steal sensitive U.S. military technology.

"On at least three separate occasions between October 2005 and January 2006, cleared defence contractors' employees travelling through Canada have discovered radio frequency transmitters embedded in Canadian coins placed on their persons," said the service's annual counterintelligence report for 2006.

The document did not indicate what sort of coins were involved, and a service spokeswoman said details of the incidents were classified.

Allrighty then...one less thing to worry about I guess for the paranoid amongst us.
