Buck Doesn't Stop At Top As Lovie Smith stays, but OC Ron Turner walks the plank for Bears

Not that offensive coordinator Ron Turner doesn't deserve to be fired after some really questionable play calling for a couple years now, but if head coach Lovie Smith had any semblance of class, he'd re negotiate his recently renegotiated contract downward as his portion of the blame for how the team has sucked so much since he rode the wave to the Super Bowl LOSS from all the work everyone did before he showed up.

The Bears offense wasn't even really their main problem,  with the offense ranked 12 and the defense 9 in the NFC they're not that far apart, but in my opinion it's their defense that needs the help more than anything, as their top players were injured all year long with their very best player out for the entire season, some who may never return as far as we know.

But that's Lovie's territory so gotta blame something else, like the offense. But like I said, Turner's play calling has always been goofy to say the least in the eyes of this lifetime fan at least, so he won't be missed to much by the fans.

Phillips said money wasn't a factor in retaining Smith, but his comments indicated both Smith and general manager Jerry Angelo will enter 2010 on the hot seat.

Yea right, and Obama was born in, well, wherever he was born. They're more afraid of firing him because he's black more than anything, I'll tell you that much.

However, as far as the money goes and contrary to what the quote above says, it has a lot to do with money as well, since the Bears owners, the McCaskey's, who are descendants of original football charter member Papa Bear Halas, squeeze nickels so tight they make the gosh darn eagles scream.

Offensive coordinator Ron Turner and five other offense assistants were fired.

Smith, who has two years for a total of about $11 million left on his contract, will return for his seventh season but relinquish the defensive coordinator role he assumed in 2009. He said he will look outside the organization for both coordinator berths.

Also ousted with Turner were quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton, offensive line coach Harry Hiestand, tight ends coach Rob Boras, offensive assistant/assistant offensive line coach Luke Butkus and offensive assistant/assistant wide receivers coach Charles London.  continued

Jets end Colts' pursuit of perfection 29-15 Aided By Boneheaded Colts Coaching Staff

Well no one's perfect.....Not this year..

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—The Indianapolis Colts kept saying a perfect season didn’t matter.

They meant it.

Coach Jim Caldwell pulled Peyton Manning and a handful of other starters for the previously unbeaten Colts in the third quarter, and the Jets took advantage by rallying for a 29-15 victory that ended the NFL’s longest regular-season winning streak at 23 games.

With Manning on the sideline, helmet on and standing next to his offensive coordinator, the Colts (14-1) lost for the first time since Oct. 27, 2008, at Tennessee, ending a franchise-record 13-game winning streak at home.

Especially this man after some of the dumb decision making, as some would say pulling your starting quarterback in an undecided game in a near perfect season to save him for the next game is pretty fu****g stupid.

Especially in a game were the QB Manning passed the 50,000 yard passing mark the quickest in NFL history. What a way to celebrate, throwing a game that could have led to a perfect season.  This man rivals Bears coach Lovie Smith for boneheaded maneuvers on the way to a Super Bowl loss.

Caldwell's questionable decision leads to Colts' first loss of season

Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell has been saying for weeks that going undefeated was "a secondary goal" for his team. On Sunday he showed he meant it.

With his 14-0 Colts holding a five-point lead over the visiting New York Jets late in the third quarter, the first-year coach pulled Peyton Manning in favor of rookie Curtis Painter. It was the football equivalent of waving the white flag. New York would go on to score 19 unanswered points, thus handing Indianapolis its first loss of 2009.

In theory, the benching of Manning wasn't a surprise. Caldwell had foreshadowed such an event for weeks. But you always got the sense that if it was going to happen, the coach would have done so at halftime or when the Colts had a big lead or small deficit.

Taking the presumptive NFL MVP out of the game with a five-point lead in the middle of the third quarter felt strange. It felt like Jim Caldwell wanted to lose...continue

Never Saw Jordan, Bird, or Magic Doing This ..

It's not a big big deal and probably gave the fan a thrill having a multi millionaire basketball player help himself to the fan's fries like he owns the place during a game no less....it's just so classless.

Picture NBA pioneers like Bob Cousy, John Havlicek, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Dave Debusschere, Pistol Pete Maravich or again the three Basketball Gods mentioned above doing such a dumb, attention seeking thing, men whom without, the league wouldn't exist anymore by the way.

And with more "Lebron's" on the horizon, a man who's "people" confiscate videos of college players dunking on him, the league won't last much longer anyhow...

Gridiron Risk/ Ditka On Head Injuries in Football

Chicago Bears Legend and NFL Hall of Famer Mike Ditka with player turned analyst Ron Woodson, who himself had 5 concussions during his time in the league spent mostly with the Pittsburgh Steelers, talk about the head injury problem among older NFL veterans and newer players as well, even with improved headgear.

Ditka has been on this cause for quite a while, attempting to get the leagues to pay more attention to the problem affecting almost all players from Pee Wee's to the Pro's.

Democratic Rep. Joe Baca proposed legislation in March that called for the golfer to be recognized for promoting good sportsmanship and breaking down barriers in the sport.

Baca said in a statement Wednesday that 'in light of the recent developments surrounding Tiger Woods and his family,' he won't pursue legislation this session to give him the award."

And people say our congress isn't in tune with the people.... what an idiot. Woods broke down some barriers alright, and not the one's everyone thought.

Looks like this dem middle aged golf groupie was ready to award the worst husband on planet earth a Congressional Gold Medal just like another institution gave John Edwards the "Father of the Year" award the same year he too choked up his marriage cheating on his dying wife and denying it all the way to the National Enquirer offices.

I wonder if there's a single celebrity marriage that isn't really a sham? If a man who was what most thought was as close to the Bill Cosby "Cliff Huxtable" dream family image was this much of a slimebucket, imagine how slimey the ones people know are slime are.

Must be pure scum with all the comforts of life the rest of us work our asses off everyday in legitimate jobs that don't qualify as children's games,  for one can only imagine with all that money to burn.

It's the devils playground for sure, and no one seems immune when it's dumped in their laps. He's a great golfer, but ya know, so's my dad and ten million other men too busy making money other ways to only play on weekends, that is until they retire and play every day like these guys do early.

And we are nuts to idolize these people because they're only human,  and some are even sub human. Not Woods but he's close to OJ land, all he has to do is kill two people, but he's got the white blond chick thing down pretty good I must say.

Wild and Wicked Nascar Crash At Dover Over Weekend (video)

Saw this looking at some sports video this morning and didn't catch it over the weekend, that being this spectacular wreck involving NASCAR sensation and Home Depot Driver, 19 year old Joey "Sliced Bread" Logano.

Here's his website if interested, and after watching this rollover crash having survived it unscathed, he may be doing some seat belt public service announcements in his immediate future, which was miraculously saved and almost violently ended yesterday.

However, thankfully for he and his family Logano was completely uninjured from this miraculous crash, (at least physically as he mentions in the video below"...
