This is nearly identical to the outcome of the Stuart Libby fiasco it now turns out although he, Libby, was convicted of 4 supposed lies or perjury committed also during a trial for something Richard Armitage did... and I among many others don't think they, the federal government, proved a thing against this man Blagojevich.Don't get me wrong, I didn't vote for the man, never would, and he's definitive slime, but they sure fell 'a country mile short' of what they advertised when taking him down a while back one morning, dramatically arresting him at his home after weeks of media jousting, and the excuse from Pat Fitzgerald was they 'jumped' when they 'did' because it appeared he was about 'to do something illegal'.
WHAT? Yes indeed, that was their line, because the public you'll remember was infuriated this scenario wasn't allowed to play out and suck Obama down with it, were it to have been taken to it's logical conclusion, the fulfillment of the actual bribes being concocted by the Obama, Blago, Emmanuel triumvirate that were supposed to be the basis of the entire case.
Remember, Partick Fitzgerald said this was 'corruption that's making Lincoln turn over in his grave".
As it turned out this was nothing but a 'morning at the office' for Obama and the boys as the only time he's NOT lying is when his mouth is shut like most [d] and many [r] politicians.
The feds obviously moved prematurely to protect Obama and nothing more, and this apparent NON VERDICT proves it. All charges were garbage and all they end up getting him on is lying during the investigation.
Just think what they can do to you and me if they can do this to a democratic governor who got in the way.
Blago guilty on one count: Lying to the FBI"Update: A federal jury today convicted former Gov. Rod Blagojevich of one count against him: lying to the FBI. The jury was deadlocked on the other 23 counts against the former governor, and all four counts against his brother.
The jury in Rod Blagojevich's corruption trial has reached a verdict, and Blagojevich and his brother are in the courtroom awaiting the announcement after being summoned by U.S. District Judge James Zagel.
Blagojevich and his wife Patti arrived at the courthouse around 3:45 p.m. Their attorneys, Sam Adam and Sam Adam Jr., were already there.
'God bless you, God bless you, I didn't let you down,' Blago said as he shook hands with admirers. He also high-fived spectators.
Patti laughed as Blagojevich kissed her on the cheek.
As he entered the courtroom on the 25th floor, he said: 'How are ya' doin'? Say a prayer for us.'
Robert Blagojevich arrived with his wife and son around 3:55 p.m., waiving to people and reporters gathered in the lobby.
U.S. Atty. Patrick Fitzgerald and Robert Grant, head of the FBI in Chicago, were also in the courtroom for the announcement.

ReplyDeleteThis whole damn case is more about Obama and emmanuel's crookedness and everyone knows it since we know they also tried to bribe Sestak and others...Obama should be brought in and until he is to testify Blago will walk free and I believe he should be free. They didn't prove jack shit other than how crooked they are up in Fitzgerald's office.

Great reporting on this, Ray. I haven't written on it yet, I've been so busy. and the Day it went down, I was watching all the interviews NON stop, what entertainment. I think Blago should walk too! I don't like him, but obummer is the CRIMINAL, not blago.

What a waste of money! I wish I could get to the place they are having the auction of Blago's storage unit today, looks like lots of cool stuff there, lots of Elivs stuff too.
