24 hours later and we still don't know who the governor race winners are on either side because they're so close. Lieutenant governor race is still open on the republican side as well with Jason Plummer leading Matt Murphy by 5000 some votes.
Like I said here and to friends and family last night, proof every vote counts, even in crooked Illinois for a primary once in a while. My guy Kirk Dillard is losing by only 508 votes, and it would be 10 more if the people I talked to on my block didn't vote. Between the voter apathy and republican fervor the lib gap was closed due to the embarrassingly low turnout. Less than 30%.
Not Over Yet | NBC Chicago: "A day after the primary and several Illinois races are still up in the air. With 99.4 percent of the votes counted, neither Democrats nor Republicans are prepared to announce a nominee for governor.Incredibly slim margins separate Gov. Pat Quinn from Comptroller Dan Hynes on the Democratic side and state Sens. Kirk Dillard and Bill Brady among Republicans.Quinn and Hynes both claimed 50% of the vote.Gov. Quinn, with 454,665 votes, clings to a small lead of about 7,000 votes. That lead has increased slightly over the course of the day." read more
