Societal and Media Double Standards Abound

Many will deny that this exists when caucasion people complain of discrimination, and after they stop laughing the just shrug it off, saying it does not exist or that they deserve it for some reason or another. (you know, white man did this to my ancestors... blah blah... is the most common one)

For instance, when I started to read the story below, besides saying "who the hell cares" about some idiot tossing a live pig over a counter at a hotel.........

Kevin Pugh, 20, of Cedar Bluff, has been fined $279 for tossing a pig over the counter at the Holiday Inn Express in West Point on Nov. 12. Pugh pleaded guilty Tuesday in city court to a charge of disturbing the peace.

West Point Police Lt. Danny McCaskill has said Pugh didn't know the employees of the hotel. There was no evidence intoxication was a factor. No one was hurt, including the pig, officers said."..........

Now skip down a little further and you read this:

.................McCaskill said Pugh was accused of walking into the hotel and throwing the 60-pound pig over the counter.

"He said it was a prank," McCaskill said. "It must be some redneck thing, because I haven't ever heard of anything like it."

WHOOOAAAA...Some Redneck thing? Imagine any newspaper or blog for that matter printing this below, regardless of the color of the guy or girl who said it:

"It must be some N*****R thing or "It must be some J*P thing
or
"It must be some SP*C thing, or "It must be some Fa*ot thing..............

I didn't even fill in the words so as not to have to listen to people call me a racist..But yet it's allright to use and spell out and use freely the word redneck. Why's that?

The newspaper would have to be practically shut down as one could only imagine the national outcry of such blatant racist use of a derogatory adjective, look what happened to Michael Richards for his outburst. You'da thought he shot Jesse Jackson or hung Al Sharpton from the attention that it recieved around the country. And now these guys are actually asking for MONEY for this.

You can be sure of one thing, this will be the only place you'll see or hear about the story up above, that's for damn sure. No talk show apologies required for the officer that uttered those words, no demand for marches up and down the streets of Mississippi or elsewhere by white folks 0ffended by the use of those two combined words.

But it won't be the last time you see the word redneck used by any faction of the above described groups when making fun of whitey that is. That's allright with just about everyone, even though caucasions are quickly becoming the minority in this country and will be not too long from now. Then will it matter when they are minorities?

Now, do I really give a damn about the use of the word redneck? No. Just showing the hypocrisy of those who say they do. Words are words and that's that. Anyone any color hurt by the use of any racial epithat needs to grow a backbone and find something else to worry about. 'Cause they're never going away, any of them, redneck or any of the others. Remember what they said when we were all in the third grade? "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but, names will never hurt me"

Thats ok for 8 year olds but not adults?

Racism goes in all directions, not just from the white man outward. So please get over it.
