I've seen this video and another accompanying accusatory video by one audience member at cnn. As far as I'm concerned, I for the most part dislike almost all entertainers, but as a citizen of Chicago who has frequented many comedy clubs including Second City many times, and sporting events where the fans and or audience members always feel as if their ticket gives them the right to say and do anything they wish, I've seen and heard it all at these venues in Chicago. Things far worse than some of the things Michael Richards said believe it or not.
Any human can take only so much abuse no matter what color he or she is, and the audience members at that club (besides one guy) as far as I have seen or heard haven't been taped or analyzed as to what epithats and depravity they were heaving at Michael Richards that caused his rancid outburst.
My guess and bet is that it was as equally offensive as the things he said back to them unfortunately as I said above. Things he was thinking that shouldn't have made it past his mouth obviously..he just happened to as the star of the show have the microphone and video on him. I've seen it the other way around by black comedians a million times and everybody laffs when they call whitey a cracker and any other slang derogatory epithet you can imagine. I've seen BOTH Chris Rock and Richard Pryor live and the same stuff backwards is called comedy.
