The platform exploded Thursday morning and is still burning, about 80 miles off the Louisiana coast. It's west of the Deepwater Horizon site.
The Coast Guard said no one was killed in the blast, which was reported by a commercial helicopter flying over the area. All 13 people aboard the rig have been accounted for, with one injury. The extent of the injury is not known.
A Coast Guard spokeswoman said some of those from the rig were spotted in emergency flotation devices. She said authorities do not know whether oil is leaking from the site.
Yup, looks like everyone got off safely although they'll never make me believe this is an accident. Sorry. I'm not buying it. No way a second one can be called an accident, and frankly, I never thought the 'first one' was, and I blogged as much about terror attacks a number of times the first 'go round', which by no means is 'over - with' by anyone's estimation except Obama's.Furthermore, should another tragic oil and or natural gas spill ensue, my bet is Obama will resign out of pure frustration of too much 'shit' to handle at once, unless of course it's a false flag terror attack. Gonna watch this from a relative's condo at Lake Point Towers Sunday downtown, which I do almost every year, so that should be cool. It's gonna be a smokin' weekend calling for 90's both days so it's really sweet to catch indoors 20 stories up over the Lake :(.... Starts at 11 which means leave about 4 hours ago....lol
Vince Vaughn is supposed to sky dive with these men, the Golden Knights, last year it was Bill Murray.

But still this thing will draw millions over the weekend total despite the concrete jungle heat, it does every year, as it's actually one of the most heavily attended, free, public events in the world, that is a fact Jack.
It used to be around the fourth of July the way I remember things yet I couldn't confirm it, then one summer it seems like they moved it to later in the summer to August for some God forsaken reason, when it's 400 degrees on the pavement in most of the city ...
Perhaps it's always been in August but I remember as a teen going down there earlier for this thing, but I could be wrong, although I doubt it ;) lol

When a child in THIS country of all places in the world can't do the very first thing most American children do to earn their first money, we've left the ranch for good. So when Multnomah County shut down an enterprise last week for operating without a license, you might just sigh and say, there they go again.
Except this entrepreneur was a 7-year-old named Julie Murphy. Her business was a lemonade stand at the Last Thursday monthly art fair in Northeast Portland. The government regulation she violated? Failing to get a $120 temporary restaurant license.
Turns out that kids' lemonade stands -- those constants of summertime -- are supposed to get a permit in Oregon, particularly at big events that happen to be patrolled regularly by county health inspectors.
'I understand the reason behind what they're doing and it's a neighborhood event, and they're trying to generate revenue,' said Jon Kawaguchi, environmental health supervisor for the Multnomah County Health Department.
