Current and Former Athletes Give Super Bowl XLIV predictions - Video

I'm pulling for the Saints seeing they're 0 for History in the Super Bowl, having never reached the big game 'til today. They can use the win for the city

Also, a New Orleans win will finally hopefully shut the book on ALL the Katrina whining as far as I'm concerned. This is proof the city is back for the most part, and for that we're all glad, as can be as a Third World City doesn't make it to the NFL Super Bowl.

Perhaps in many ways, aside from the death and suffering, Katrina was the best thing to happen to that city.

They can start anew in all facets, and proof of that is that their perpetually brutal football team is finally in the Super Bowl. It took the Chicago Bears, a charter NFL franchise almost a century aside from a couple "Championships" along the way, and they're only 1 for 2 in Super Bowls.

Their win in Super Bowl 20 by the way was in New Orleans, and I was there.

Proof anything can happen after what seems is the worst, and a reminder to be thankful for whatever we have at any given moment as fortunate Americans,  as things can  ALWAYS get worse than they are, especially outside the borders of this country.

Tis Not The Season For All.....Woman Who Jumps off Brooklyn Bridge Saved

Fortunately for her a woman gets a second chance similar to George Bailey in 'It's a Wonderful Life" with her own Guardian Angel "Clarence" looking out as she jumped from the Brooklyn Bridge and survived although unidentified as of the time of the posting of this story.

Thanks to some holiday heroes in the NYFD and PD, 22 years young and again fortunately not a statistic today in NYC.

A 22-year-old woman was rescued from the frigid East River this morning after she jumped from the
Brooklyn Bridge. One of her rescuers, Detective Michael Cocchi, said of the save: "It feels good.
"

NYPOST.com: "A woman wearing just pajamas hurled herself off the Brooklyn Bridge this morning, and miraculously survived a 100-foot plunge into the frigid East River, cops said.

The 22-year-old, who has not been named but is from Manhattan, was dragged from the water by police divers and is being treated for severe hypothermia.

She leapt after walking to the midspan of the bridge shortly after 7 a.m., police said.

'It was extremely cold,' said Detective Michael Cocchi, 42, one of two police divers who hauled the woman from the water.

'I think she was in shock. She was floating, she didn’t move, she didn’t talk.'" read more

Susan Boyle's 'I Dreamed a Dream' now tops U.S. album charts

In a recession even 700,000 people in the US found the cash to buy this record smashing album...

Susan Boyle's 'I Dreamed a Dream'

(BTW.....The only debut that has outsold Susan Boyle's new album is Snoop Dogg's P-O-S  Doggystyle, if you can believe that, which moved 803,000 in 1993......Only in America on both counts)  I like everyone like the lady and her inspirational story, but I'll go for now without adding her to my Itunes collection...we'll see how I manage..  ;)

Susan Boyle's 'I Dreamed a Dream' tops U.S. album chart

USATODAY.com: "Susan Boyle's I Dreamed a Dream sold 701,000 copies its first week, the biggest sales week of 2009, in another chapter to the Scottish singer's fairy-tale rise to stardom.

Her debut album, which hit shelves Nov. 23, handily beat the year's previous leader, Eminem's Relapse, which racked up 608,000 copies in May, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Dream had the best-selling first week since AC/DC's Black Ice entered Billboard with 784,000 in October 2008. It's also the biggest debut by a woman since SoundScan began tabulating sales in 1991. Until now, Ashanti held the title with her 2002 eponymous debut, which sold 503,000. The only debut that has outsold Boyle's is Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle, which moved 803,000 in 1993."
