White House budget director blames old computers for ineffective government - (more Blame Bush?)

They have a point there as the computers the government is using I'm sure aren't on the cutting edge of today's technology, but then again that's about 50 billion out the door to correct that new age infrastructure problem.

However, when does this administration find something in Washington they don't cut down or actually take some blame for some of the crap going on instead of trying to blame anyone and anything pre Obama..These people act like they're the only ones to ever come to DC to find out there's a lot of shit to do.

So now they're blaming the computers for all their problems as if they're the first ones to have that problem. All over the US people use non cutting edge computer equipment daily and make due with it because they can't afford to replace the stuff, just like the government can't. So get used to it and quit complaining.

Here's an idea, quit wasting billions and billions on funding the criminal enterprise known to the world as ACORN, and you can buy the new computers the government needs so bad..

The Hill's Hillicon Valley: "A big reason why the government is inefficient and ineffective is because Washington has outdated technology, with federal workers having better computers at home than in the office.

This startling admission came Thursday from Peter Orszag, who manages the federal bureaucracy for President Barack Obama.

The public is getting a bad return on its tax dollars because government workers are operating with outdated technologies, Orszag said in a statement that kicked off a summit between Obama and dozens of corporate CEOs.

“Twenty years ago, people who came to work in the federal government had better technology at work than at home,” said Orszag, director of the Office of Management and Budget. “Now that’s no longer the case.

“The American people deserve better service from their government, and better return for their tax dollars.”"  continued

Website offers emotional rescue from economy

Reuters: "WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Stressed out by the economy? The U.S. government is offering an online emotional rescue kit.

The 'Getting Through Tough Economic Times' guide at www.samhsa.gov/economy/ is meant to help people identify any serious health concerns related to financial worries, develop coping skills and find help, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration said on Tuesday.

Studies show a serious risk of clinical depression, anxiety and compulsive behaviors such as gambling, overeating and even spending stemming from stress, SAMHSA said.

'By helping people remain resilient, we can help promote the overall recovery of our nation,' SAMHSA Acting Administrator Eric Broderick said in a statement.

Of particular importance is helping people see the warning signs of depression, suicidal thinking and other serious mental illnesses, SAMHSA said.

These include, according to the website:

*Persistent sadness/crying

*Excessive anxiety

*Lack of sleep/constant fatigue

*Excessive irritability/anger

*Increased drinking

*Illicit drug use, including misuse of medications

The site directs people to caregivers and also offers tips on ways to reduce the causes of stress, such as finding a new job and refinancing mortgages.
