This is the most pathetic and sad thing I've seen in a long time from a desperate liberally run urban center who's sending notices to bloggers to cough up three hundred bucks for a blogger's business license?
Since when did hobby meet the threshold of being a business? I know about 20 people who make more than $50 a month on their blogs, the rest make nothing..
These people waste waste waste and instead of cutting the waste they keep sending us the damn bills. This is just another reason to fire every damn democrat this side of Moscow in the fall and then the republicans who lied to get elected get burned at the stake with the dems kicked out in November.

Maybe they need the money to pay the Black Panthers' to guard all the polling places in November to assure Obama's allies get re elected perhaps?
Pay Up :: News :: Article :: Philadelphia City Paper: "or the past three years, Marilyn Bess has operated MS Philly Organic, a small, low-traffic blog that features occasional posts about green living, out of her Manayunk home. Between her blog and infrequent contributions to ehow.com, over the last few years she says she's made about $50. To Bess, her website is a hobby. To the city of Philadelphia, it's a potential moneymaker, and the city wants its cut.
In May, the city sent Bess a letter demanding that she pay $300, the price of a business privilege license.
'The real kick in the pants is that I don't even have a full-time job, so for the city to tell me to pony up $300 for a business privilege license, pay wage tax, business privilege tax, net profits tax on a handful of money is outrageous,' Bess says.
It would be one thing if Bess' website were, well, an actual business, or if the amount of money the city wanted didn't outpace her earnings six-fold. Sure, the city has its rules; and yes, cash-strapped cities can't very well ignore potential sources of income. But at the same time, there must be some room for discretion and common sense.
When Bess pressed her case to officials with the city's now-closed tax amnesty program, she says, 'I was told to hire an accountant.'
She's not alone. After dutifully reporting even the smallest profits on their tax filings this year, a number — though no one knows exactly what that number is — of Philadelphia bloggers were dispatched letters informing them that they owe $300 for a privilege license, plus taxes on any profits they made.
Even if, as with Sean Barry, that profit is $11 over two years. continued
This was my comment there by the way
This is just nuts. They need bloggers to cough up money so they can waste it on more schoolteacher pensions and out of league salaries and so on? ROTFLMFAO
Just another reason to fire them all in the fall.
This if freaken insane!!!
ReplyDeleteThese Philly bloggers need to go here and know their legal rights.
I saw this story too, Ray, and thought it was HORRIBLE!
ReplyDeleteI make NOTHING at all on my blog, I don't even do the google monitize, because for the cluttery distraction of the ads, I hear you make next to nothing, and even though unemployed too, it's not worth it to me.
I hope this doesn't give our crap mayor daley shortshanks any ideas! You know how they like to screw us here in shitcago.
While the Left preaches to us and tries to teach us about “ principles “ and “rights” and they argue with the opponents to the Ground Zero Mosque who are questioning the source of the $100 million funding,
ReplyDeleteNo one wants to question the “RIGHT” for us to know about where this funding is coming from! Is it alright to be accepting money from terrorist organizations such as CAIR and Hamas.
Also is it now alright for Iran's offer to provide money for this “so called” Community Center that is just a front for a Mosque! Shouldn’t some one tell us all we want to know about the motivation of these and any other sponsors?
And why is it alright for Mayor Mike Bloomberg to brush this off by saying it’s nobody’s business where the funds are coming from? And how can he justify that by saying it’s “alike” any unknown person putting money int the basket passed around in Church? How stupid is he to make such a comparison?
How about a show of tolerance from you Mr. Obama and from Feisal Abdul Rauf, the mastermind behind this Mega Monstrosity of a project, and his radical Muslim Brotherhood buddies to throw a church, and a synagogue and a Hindu temple into the middle of Mecca? That would be a show of tolerance!
When the Imam returns with the millions of dollars in contributions will we have the “right” to ask where it came from? Will the Left allow us to be Outraged?
We need to speak up about this. Its impact on our republic is much greater than the ground zero mosque
ReplyDeleteOutrageous! A "priviedge license"? Look out backet weavers,,,your next!
ReplyDeleteoops..basket
ReplyDeleteHappens to the best of us...I actually HATE this commenting for that reason only, no editing by the commenter. I f*** em up myself and delete em to fix it all the time.. :(
ReplyDeleteThis 'll probably be shitcanned after the noise people have been making about it today !! That's what we're here for!!
The liberals put a price on freedom of speech....instead of stopping the crack dealers and polling place intimidation they hit 'bloggers' ....the left hates free speech and always will. Because they know when people are given the chance they always choose freedom and liberty.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a lame way to raise money. They'll be lucky to make a couple thousand dollars if they're lucky. They'd make 200000 times more by taxing crack rocks and weed in that town.
ReplyDeleteBarney Rubble Daley I think doesn't even know what bloggers are yet....He's too worried about taking our guns away to worry about our keyboards.......YET!! lol :)
They can't enforce this in any way....I already give half assed info to the NIC people anyhow. I don't want the loons to be able to 'who is' my websites so I lie.
ReplyDeleteI think you wanted this on the other post but that's cool Mal.....they are a nasty fuckled up bunch and frankly giving Obama the keys to the country has reminded most how great Bush and Reagan were ....they're done in this country but we'll have to wrestle back the schools from them and never let this indoctrination happen again..>
ReplyDeletethe right was asleep at the wheel as they were building this screwed up coalition of treasonous fucks and now we have to sanitize the house/.
This tax on free speech is a violation of our rights. It doesn't even pass the smell test.
ReplyDeleteBrutal attempt by an urban zero I cal the Fresh Prince of Philly to rob the people of money knowing nothing about their target.
ReplyDeleteIt's like the Crook County Board, they raise smoke taxes so people go 5 miles in either direction and buy them elsewhere and they end up losing it all. Same thing taxes in new york. Liberal Urban slime think white man's money is the answer to all evils..
If she can't get around this, I hope she changes the name, goes underground so to speak, and does whatever needs to be done to keep from paying. Government offices are filled with such evil. We are up to at least 20 outrages a day, Ray! I'm going to check out ap-dp.blogspot.com's link to blogger rights.
ReplyDelete
They're so desperate for money they'll almost do anything to cover up the free fall this country has taken under this mistaken unfettered liberal rule where the dumb asses of this country had no idea the damage this group would inflict. Every single liberal city is so deep in the red I can't imagine anyone would re elect anyone even in the ghetto's. :(
