If you happen to like the way I write and rant then you'll love John Kass even more.
A man who came on the Tribune scene when longtime Chicagoan and Chicago Way critic original, Mike Royko passed on, and boy there are many days we wish he was still alive as he'd be all over Obama like Lewinsky on Slick's little Willie.

However, Kass does a 'great job' filling Royko's legendary shoes getting under the 'skin' of 'Daley's city hall' and does great today as usual with this 'Obama to Dear Tony' note he pens, which made me laugh this morning, particularly the address he uses for what we used to call 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue:
btw for those unaware, an interesting "Blago - Kass aside".....
John Kass was the target of a 'Blago request' trying to silence him and his columns for the Trib, in order for them to get some financial assistance from Springfield, and was part and parcel of the eventual charges being brought against Blagojevich ..... his life is in danger penning his column each day...

President Barack ObamaThe White House1600 Chicago WayDear President Obama:It's been such a long time since we talked, and I know you're extremely busy taking command at work, but I hope this letter finds you well.Chicago hasn't changed much. More Americans are shot in Chicago than in Iraq. The politicians keep getting rich. And you know about Rod Blagojevich's corruption trial. What's up with that subpoena thing anyway? What was Rod thinking? The mayor still runs things, but with all you folks in Washington, he gets lonely. He doesn't have anybody to talk to. Maybe you and Michelle should visit and give him some laughs, take him to Spiaggia for the gnocchi with the wild boar ragu. But I'm not writing about boar ragu. It's something else. It's a letter with your name on it in big capital letters, PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA.It's postmarked June 16, 2010, and was mailed from Richmond, Va., with a 44-cent stamp. And, it's printed in soy ink on recycled paper, so it's eco-friendly.But the fascinating part is whom the letter from PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA is addressed to:Tony Rezko.continue reading at: chicagotribune.com
The letter written by Kass was freakin hilarious. Obama is getting dragged in the mud with this trial whether he testifies or not. I am all for making this moron President look bad.
ReplyDeleteI've been praying the entire time and saying as much on this blog that this trial will bring down Obama if Blago sees prison bars in his sleep over the next couple weeks. He's delusional thinking he's going to get off so he hasn't dealt//When he sees he's actually going he's gonna spill his guts I'm praying for our country Teresa
ReplyDeleteI remember Mike Royko. Boy, do we need him NOW. But this guy Kass ain't half bad. . .
ReplyDeleteBZ
He was a real bulldog reporter from an age long gone, now these people are in bed with them. He's rolling in the grave today and Chicago's always been bad. Not quite this bad, even in the Capone age. Cappo's only kill each others for the most part, not children and women like the gangsters of today.
