If it isn't, then what the hell is it?
I'm a graphic designer so it's probably a signal of some Muslim meaning to someone about something because there's no other explanation for it being there, it's not even a normal design element I would even use for that reason only, moons are for loons, that's my policy seriously. It's physical step that drops down, so it's even freaking wheelchair accessible from the back for the crippled suicide bomber guest speakers I guess. (I'm crippled so don't hassle me ;>)
Here's another one little closer, it's just a thing someone like me designing it would think of right away, they either obviously don't think about that stuff, just don't care, or it is exactly that, a hat tip to Islam

You can plainly see that yes it's a crescent moon alright. A nod from the Muslim born Obama to his Muslim handlers letting them know the time to strike is near? lolol but I'm not happy about the design choice obviously, put it that way.
This is what I would have done with it once I realized it looks like a Muslim crescent, because that's the first thing that would have crossed my mind seeing the whole thing is necessary because of radical Muslims. Close off the circle and the thing looks even better I think.

Yes I know it was an International conference for the nations who DID show up. But NO ISLAMIC NATIONS ATTENDED yet the logo LOOKS "IS freakin LAMIC"...they could have thought about it is all anyone is saying. We did.
Forever in our debts - NYPOST.com: "NOW HE'S A CRESCENT LOON
The first time I saw the swirling logo for the Nuclear Security Summit, it looked familiar. I soon figured out what it reminded me of: a crescent moon. The kind of crescent moon you see on the flags of Muslim countries (from left: Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia and Pakistan).
Indeed, the crescent, often with a single or multiple stars, is the main symbol of Islam. So now there is something like it at an official presidential event, prominently displayed in photographs being beamed around the world. No, I am not suggesting President Obama is a secret Muslim. But I am certain the crescent-like design of the logo is not a coincidence, especially at an event where Iran's nuclear ambition and al Qaeda's search for a bomb are prime topics.
Obama has been open about his aim to improve America's relations with Muslims. His bowing and apologies are nauseating, but they are consistent with his goal. And so is having a crescent-like logo at an event attended by Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani (above), among others. The Washington Conference Center is plastered with the design, which includes a solid white circle above the arc, all superimposed on a world map. Consistent also is a report this week that says terms with religious connotations, such as 'Islamic extremists' and 'jihad,' will no longer be used in National Security Council documents.
The Associated Press reports the aim is to emphasize the White House desire to use more sensitive language and broaden the relationship beyond war. The phrase 'war on terror' was also dropped. 'Do you want to think about the US as the nation that fights terrorism or the nation you want to do business with? ' Pradeep Ramamurthy, an NSC staffer, told AP. It also reports business leaders from more than 40 countries are coming to Washington for an 'entrepreneurship summit' for Muslim businesses.
Notably absent this week is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The deep freeze in his relationship with Obama is a direct casualty of Obama's courting of Muslims, which includes intense pressure on Israel to make major concessions to Palestinians. So this is what change looks like."
Now I am really getting worried. If Obummer were to drop his pants and moon some one, what would it look like, a Cresent Moon? Oh my G_d, now you got me going over the deep end. LOL
ReplyDeleteThese Obama people I think now are doing this shit on purpose because it happens way too much..... so I just post this stuff to annoy liberals and throw THEM a curve ball thinking we buy all this crap.
ReplyDeleteI like Bush's theory, let em think you're stupid all they want, they'll never see you coming.
ReplyDeleteRay, thee is no way I believe this is accidental. I believe it has a crescent shape because the crescent shape is important to Obama and it sends a signal to those outside the U.S. Every day gets sadder. Your commentary on this is excellent.
ReplyDeleteThanks...yea it's probably as I indicated "a hat tip" to Islam. This

ReplyDeleteThank God I read that; I was beginning to think this post was serious heh.
So it's definitely not the Rutherford-Bohr model of the hydrogen atom? I mean, that's totally unreasonable that the logo would feature an important concept of atomic physics. The logo is about the Nuclear Summit after all. I don't understand why the Nuclear Summit would dipect a picture of an electron orbiting a central nucleus. It really doesn't make sense at all! I'm glad there are still people of reason and intelligence in this world who are writing articles that speak out to the masses (sheep).
ReplyDeleteThats a good point and I as a designer like I said but now for you I must demostrate what I would have done ONC E I NOTICED IT LOOKED LIKE A FREAKING CRESCENT..We think differently at the core than do you and this is a perfect chance to demonstrate it.
ReplyDelete(Please explain why they didn't close off the circle as you yourself supply a picture of like we're all idiots here. That was the whole point of the post you obviously didn't read, don't google this blog and drop in fly by comments without reading please. )
Fact is if you too read and looked closer you would've seen what the other guy missed too, that my post not the article criticized the artwork and I even re did the logo to show it which only shows me that you folks google comment and don't even look at the stuff. And if you knew me you'd know I hate that crap.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that the designers should have closed the circle shape as you have said. But I don't agree with the interpertation of the logo. I really dont think that the design was intentional, poor insight maybe, but not intentional. And I also doubt that Obama really had any say in the design of it either (I can't say that for certian, but I think it's more an err on the side of the designers). And now I see hivemind that came from the original NYPOST article. First the article, then Fox News, then the blogosphere. One persons idea all of the sudden is everyone's idea.
ReplyDeleteI did read the article before posting, and I'm sorry if my post came off as snide. I just really don't like the Fox News, Glenn Beck-esque McCarthyism about everything Obama. I'm not saying I like him, don't get me wrong, I just don't like baseless accusations about anything.
And I appreciate your input and I'm not a hater man, I just think Obama's administration has somewhat created that lackidaisical type attitude where the radical Muslim's are the victims and that's why they wouldn't even think that would offend us, because we're the "last thing" they're thinking about and that kind of proves it I believe. It may seem like alittle thing, yet they're designers could be Muslim and do this crap intentionally knowing that the people above them won't catch it because they don't care and they're too busy
ReplyDeleteEspecially for us bloggers who've been fighting this Crescent Memorial in Shanksville for flight 93, but instead we're labeled kooks when throughout history we can see subversives leaving their marks in pop culture, and the crescent, to designers like myself (who refuse any work when it can be somehow traced back to any Muslim connection whatsoever and it happens) are highly aware of it and OUR saying when creating starts with moons are for loons....That's just how WE feel about it.
Sorry I don't wanna come across as an asshole either but after losing people on 911 I fight this wherever I see it. I promised I would and I keep my promises. Thanks for the comments ;)
"OOPS meant "Their designers" :(
ReplyDeleteYou're not coming off as an asshole, and I see where you're coming from. I do also understand that the crescent shape (usually accompanied by a star) is used as a symbol for Musilm-majority nations now, although it was not historically an Islamic symbol (circa 247 BC). I don't, however think that every shape somewhat discernable as a crescent is a symbol of Islam.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the more I think about it the circle can be used to convey a message of protection or security. The designers really missed the boat on this one.
ReplyDeleteIt just seems like I've said here below it just could have been thought out better and if they don't think piddly crap like this through and through who knows what could be buried in the health bill. For all we know it could turn over the country to Saudi Arabia in 2012 for all we know. I tried reading that thing and I could only stand a couple hundred pages and it was like reading the terms when you buy a cell phone or a anything of that nature. That scares me when we have so many better thinkers outside of government because all the smart people are scared to run against these scorched earth liberals on the far left.
ReplyDeleteThats kind of what I meant when I said we just think from different perspectives and there's nothing wrong with that. But I know from 25 years in graphics and ten at the Tribune company that these things are approved at the very top when they're this important. I used to have the CEO's of Breyers Ice Cream coming in to make sure press runs matched the ice cream, and to me you're right about the circle, as in their version it is broken, and everywhere I've been taught, a closed circle conveys trust, hence "circle of trust".
ReplyDeleteThere are bigger things to worry about, but then again I'm not the president, so I can sweat the minutea, they can't I guess.
Ray, I just linked you on this. :-D
