Good, it's about time they stood up to these unions, and all other states and urban cities should follow suit as inner city education doesn't even exist anymore. For many of the students it's just a place to hang out, deal drugs and kill time before they end up in prison or dead or both.
They're not schools even for the kids who wanna learn, in fact I suggest all the school boards take a couple hours to watch the movie "Lean On Me", based on the story of Joe Clark, the principal who spoke loudly and carried a bat around the hallways and took shit from no one and that included students parents and crappy teachers.
That's about the only way to run schools that have this magnitude of problems with the teachers and the students. You take the trash out for good from both groups, and make the school campus's a better environment for both teachers and the students who wanna learn. Especially when all the teachers are armed and dangerous just like the shittiest students you can locate.. they like easy targets, they look for the easiest target they can find and gun free zones like schools are a shooting gallery and target rich environment. You don't need a PHD to figure that one out.
