Second City Comedy Celebrates 50 Years Of Laughs

This is in the Chicago Trib today celebrating Second City, and all the great comedians and comediennes of our lifetime have been schooled and groomed there, a comedy consortium which was really put on the map by the "Not Ready For Prime Time Players" and "Second City TV" back in the 70's which morphed into what we've all come to know now as Saturday Night Live.

Sadly, just like the country, many of the best of the best are no longer with us paying a large price to entertain the world. Many we see on the shows today are sadly too partisan and frankly rub this American the wrong way, but the future holds some promise, and hopefully they'll soon be turning out more and more comedy to keep America laughing in some sad sad times for too many.
