While we're at it and feeling all nice and gooey inside, why not go all the way and let Pete Rose back in the game while they're at it? I know there is of course such a big difference between the two,(wink wink) after all Rose bet on the outcome of games, while McGqwire and his roid friends actually "changed the outcome" of games and baseball's most beloved records basically through drug abuse.
Don't worry coach, they'll never find out, I promise!! I'll just deny it. Hahahahah..
Although McGwire was never banned from baseball like Rose was .. he's just basically been in hiding ever since it was discovered he hit most of his middle and later career homers while juiced up like every other major home run hitter of the 90s and into the new millennium... like Sammy SO-SO ( I mean Sosa although without 'Roids all he was was So so) and a long list of others topped off by Barry Counterfeit Bonds.
King of the Juicers are all he and McGwire mean to me.
Above was a pic of Tony Larussa and "Juice" McGwire* as I call him (along with an asterisk that should always be beside his name as it was next to Roger Maris for far too long) back in the days when McGwire was basking in the glory of his hitting accomplishments in St Louis, which again were later diminished by his testimony in congress seen below, where his main concern at the time was to make sure he didn't purjer himself in front of the nation and a congress full of sanctimonious crooks.
The Commercial Appeal: "Mark McGwire is back in baseball, reunited with Tony La Russa as the St. Louis Cardinals' hitting coach.
As expected, La Russa agreed to return for a 15th year as manager Monday with a one-year contract, the first time he hasn't had a multiyear deal with the team. All of his coaches will return except for Hal McRae, who will be replaced by the former star."
