According to victim’s mother, 2 of the 5 girls have been charged with 1 count of battery and mob action. Both of the charges are misdemeanors. According to the victim’s mother, the other 3 girls haven’t been charged
The beating took place in the far south suburbs on June 2nd. According to the victim's mother, the fight was over an alleged boyfriend.
Two more teens have been charged in the beating, burning and degrading of a South Chicago Heights girl in a south suburban Sauk Village attack caught on cell phone video.
But likely the young man who shot the video that brought the case to light will not face charges, according to police.
