Every little trip President Bush took for whatever reason was met with a wall of scrutiny from the MSM and leftward loonysphere, yet Obama has taken the ol' Flying White House on more unneeded trips in the first four months than any previous president and I'd be willing to bet at $65,000 an hour far more expense than any previous as well.
Cost of today's little trip, at 550 miles roughly $260-300,000 to make a 3 minute speech, pick up a questionable honorary doctorate and piss off roughly 70 million (minus obama supporting 1/2 Catholics) American Catholics all at once..
I'm using this one post today to document the going's on surrounding the South Bend Obamination today, and starting things off with this blurb from the New York Post that mentions Obama already spoke last week at Arizona State University, which elected not to give him an honorary degree because of his 'inexperience.'
Too bad the once more prestigious ND didn't feel the same way, a scar that will remain with the university forever and damage it's credibility almost as long

'POMP' CULTURE - New York Post: "Graduation season is in full swing, with stars and power brokers from Dolly Parton to President Obama waxing philosophical in commencement speeches nationwide. The most controversial address of the season happens today in South Bend, Ind., where Obama will receive an honorary degree from Notre Dame.
Almost 70 bishops and pro-life groups have expressed outrage over the Catholic institution's decision to honor a president who supports abortion rights and embryonic- stem-cell research.
Yesterday, more than 20 protesters, including a priest, were cuffed after they marched onto campus at noon. Obama -- who is booked for three graduations this month --spoke last week at Arizona State University, which elected not to give him an honorary degree because of his 'inexperience.' 'I come to confirm that one's title, even a title like president of the United States, says very little about how well one's life has been led -- and that no matter how much you've done, or how successful you've been, there's always more to do, always more to learn, and always more to achieve,' he told the graduates.
...You can say that again Mr "No experience running anything as an adult or otherwise", other than a small dope dealing business as a teenager that is. Boy we really lowered the bar on this one and the future of the country is already feeling the pain of the affirmative action decision from November..
