But I found while researching this article a goofy video I've embedded down below the article and also found that the left and so called hip hop voters are mocking Steele's intentions of turning the GOP party into the "Hip Hop OP Party" pretty heavily in just these first few days of it's announcement.
Here's just one example which is pretty clever I must say and Steele must tread lightly or he'll be marginalized by the bloggers on the left who do what I do on the right, try to turn these people into cartoon characters which isn't too hard to do....
I'm sure there are plenty of others but I don't have the time to surf the left wing offerings too much and certainly don't want to provide them too many links.
Here's the goofy parody youtube I was talking about...It's a news parody and NY1 keeps knocking off youtube for copyright infringement and rightfully so in my opinion as the people in it use the news company's logo and you have trouble discerning it's value as to being a parody or not..It is...Steele: GOP needs 'hip-hop' makeover:
this pic is not a parody or photoshop
Washington Times -"Newly elected Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele plans an “off the hook” public relations offensive to attract younger voters, especially blacks and Hispanics, by applying the party's principles to “urban-suburban hip-hop settings.”
The RNC's first black chairman will “surprise everyone” when updating the party's image using the Internet and advertisements on radio, on television and in print, he told The Washington Times.
Having been elected to the job that the Bush White House and its political guru, Karl Rove, once denied him, Mr. Steele is running the show his way. To those who claimed he can't make the trains run on time, he has this message: “Stuff it.”
He stiff-armed an attempt to get him to elaborate on his public relations effort, saying he would be an idiot to give his opponents too much information, but indicated the Republican Party needs to break out of being considered a regional party." continued
This seems out of character.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, many of the web sites I came across said that he tried some of this back in his lieutenant gov days and he used to run with hip hoppers according to this one comment and the post at the site where I picked up that logo..
ReplyDeleteLike I said he's hopefully changed and doesn't go too hip hop on us, that would be a serious problem trading the hoodsters for the base.
Yeah, I cringed a little bit when I heard Michael say that. Nothing against artistry pursee, I just think the GOP would be better served on getting the word out to the folks regarding the Democratic party and how they have hurt minorities and continue to disenfranchise the people they claim to support. I think we would be better off with a clear message instead of going after a particular group. "stupid is as stupid does"
ReplyDeleteI myself don't approve of the dumbing down methodology and would rather see them aspire to Steele's dignified level, just as all other conservatives from the black community are, that's what sets them apart from the shyster Jackson and Sharpton's.
ReplyDeleteProblem is these conservatives are then vilified and excommunicated from the "hood" per se called uncle Toms and Aunt Jemima's by their own people and liberals. Thats what they called Condi , Thomas, Alan Keyes and so on, so why go back there just to get votes? I see many cool black conservatives like this guy I feature as do other right blogs, Alfonzo's his name.
We don't need to Hip Hop ize the party, they need to come more to our world, that's the idea isn't it, to get them away from the hood, that's what keeps 'em down except for the 30 or 40 rappers who make it big.
