It's a strange story about a Mayor of Atlantic City who has basically disappeared since being confronted by a local reporter after his election on the embellishment of his Army resume that campaign literature characterized as a Green Beret when this in fact was not true. He was in the military, just not a Green Beret as he identified himself as for many years.
Since that development the story gets even stranger and yet the media is AWOL as is the Mayor since last Friday, all except for the one reporter from the local paper mentioned below and this article from the Editor & Publisher this story is under the radar.
The story also goes to great lengths to keep the political affiliation of the mayor under wraps and goes the whole length without stating that yes, he is a democrat. (however before this last election he was apparently a republican)
That explains why that information is withheld doesn't it? It sure goes a long way for me to explaining why, at this time, this quite pertinent story of an example of someone embellishing their Army record is being ignored and Rush being attacked simultaneously.
It could be that they are trying to simply take it easy on this gentleman as he is embarrassed enough after being caught lying, but that for me doesn't wash as if this were a conservative soldier or republican this story would be leading the news right next to Rush Limbaugh and they know it.
