Mayor charged with DUI
Herald News :: News ::: "ROMEOVILLE -- Mayor Fred Dewald was arrested on a drunken driving charge late Monday night after he reportedly almost hit another vehicle.
Police issued a statement saying Dewald was arrested with the help of a witness who called to report a 'possible intoxicated driver' after her vehicle was 'nearly struck.'
Dewald was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet after the incident.
Romeoville Police Lt. Mark Turvey said Dewald went to the hospital because of 'medical concerns."
"Turvey said the mayor was not injured in the incident and that he was treated and released from the hospital, but police would not provide more details.
Turvey also said the mayor 'was cooperative' through the incident.
The mayor, however, refused to take a police test to determine his blood alcohol level.

Next news conference I bet will be the crying
Under Illinois Law he'll already be suspended from driving automatically for refusal to blow the breathalyzer whether he's guilty or not guilty, but as a wise politician and probably a lawyer too, he knows by blowing he's providing prosecution with the evidence with which to convict him.
