When's This Hip Hoppin R &B Sex Predator Gonna Do Some Time?

Money cant buy you love, but it sure can keep you out of prison and slow down those wheels of justice when you need 'em to be put into slow motion. Nobody knows his better than R. Kelly, Chicago hip hop R & B singing and songwriting sensation who likes to rape young teenage fans in his spare time allegedly between albums and his trips to the bank.

Mass Murderer John Wayne Gacy went to trial IN TWO YEARS for over 33 murders yet R Kelly releases more albums and is just having a good ol' time awaiting Cook County justice to befall him. Irregardless of the fact that he is charitable and many consider him to be a great guy, he should still be treated no different than anyone else when it comes to the law, which he obviously has been able to manipulate pretty effectively for some reasons out of his control and many more that are or were.

This trial has been delayed some 30 times over 5 years believe it or not.

Kelly case hits 5 years: 'It's ridiculous'

INDICTED | Could finally go to trial this fall on child porn charges

Chicago Sun Times Tuesday June 5th It was five years ago today that a Cook County grand jury indicted R&B superstar R. Kelly on 21 counts of child pornography for allegedly videotaping himself engaging in sex acts with an underage girl.

The case has raised eyebrows for the length of time it is taking to get to trial. No trial date has been set, though last month, Judge Vincent Gaughan told prosecutors and Kelly's lawyers to draft questions for potential jurors. That's a signal the case might finally be ready to go to trial this fall.More here

WHAT'S A 'SPEEDY TRIAL'?

The U.S. Constitution guarantees defendants the right to a speedy trial. In Illinois that means 160 days for a defendant out on bond.

At any point over the last five years, R&B superstar R. Kelly's attorney could have invoked the Speedy Trial rule and demanded prosecutors be ready to try the child pornography charges against Kelly within 160 days.

Kelly has never invoked the rule. Defendants seldom do because delays often help their side of the case, experts say.

"The irony is that the defendant has the right to a speedy trial but in most cases, they are exercising the right to drag their feet," said Wendy Murphy, a professor at the New England School of Law.
