CHICAGO -- An armed standoff in the Little Village neighborhood has ended peacefully. The suspect, who was holed up in a home in the 2800 block of South Sawyer Avenue, reportedly surrendered to police and was taken into custody without incident.

Armed Standoff Leaves 2 Schools Locked Down
News Story - WMAQ | Chicago: "CHICAGO -- Shots have been fired and police have a home surrounded in the South Lawndale neighborhood.
The standoff is taking place in the 2800 block of South Sawyer Avenue.
McCormick School, which is near the scene, has been placed on lockdown. Madero Middle School was also locked down, although it is several blocks away from the scene of the standoff.
Shots were apparently fired at police officers from a home at 2801 S. Sawyer. Police have the house surrounded, and it appears that at least one person is holed up inside."
