Fellow Cops Slither Low To Protect Rogue Woman Beater

Every day the saga of the drunken lady beating Chicago cop slinks further into the sewer as the story and links below from our local NBC TV station WMAQ report both yesterday and today:
Police Superintendent: 'I Am Disgusted'
News: "CHICAGO -- Police Superintendent Phil Cline said Tuesday he has ordered an investigation into the allegations that officers helped an officer charged with a felony elude the media.

Anthony Abbate, a 12-year police veteran, was allegedly caught on surveillance video striking a 115-pound, female bartender at Jesse's Short Stop Inn on Chicago's northwest side while he was off duty.

Cline said he was moving to demote the watch commander that allowed police officers to block the public's access to an area Abbate used to leave the court house without being viewed by the media." more here
Also there is/was a Chicago Hi-rise fire atop the roof of The Heller International building in the Loop that has been for the most part safely evacuated at this point and the fire seems to be pretty much under control at 12:40 cdt.

Ironically today the funeral for a fallen Chicago Firefighter William Grant is taking place as this fire is being attended to simultaneously.
