Oprah takes over Michigan Avenue For Three Days

I complained about this crap a week ago and this is why....3 whole blocks of Michigan Ave are being shut down entirely to traffic so Oprah can throw a bash open to the public to an extent, that meaning the show taping itself is general admission seating which often means trouble. That means 3 days of lost sales for businesses and cabbies who won't be reimbursed by the Mag Mile wide Oprah for their losses and inconveniences.

We all remember what happened at a general admission WHO Concert in Cincinnati years ago....expect a similar flood of people, mostly Chicago housewives and other Oprah fans as they take over the Mag mile for three damn days.

It's great she's having a party for her fans, it's just that the last time someone from the "world of Obama" promised to foot the bill for city inconvenience was Obama's "Grant Park Election nite love in" that cost taxpayers 1.5 mil which still hasn't been repayed!!!!

Yet the local media ignores that fact all the time....just like they will when Oprah stiffs the city as well for the exorbitant costs she/they are promising to pay....as if Chicago needs the publicity in exchange for the money this will run..... in fact my feeling is this is tied into the Olympic bid and Daley somehow trying to impress the committees involved with the awarding process..you'd think the bribes they've already dished out would be enough.

I mean why do this dumb thing on the 24th anniversary of her show and not the 25th..... which is obviously next year?

Figure it out.
