Drive through there at least 5 times a week, safely for 25 years thankfully...how sad this is.....Chicago Breaking News: "The husband and wife who were killed Monday when their motorcycle collided with a car in northwest suburban Palatine were identified this morning as Michael and Susan Kelm of Schaumburg.
Michael Kelm, 65, was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. His 54-year-old wife was pronounced dead at the same hospital at 3:46 p.m. The couple lived in the 100 block of Weymouth Lane in the northwest suburb.
The accident happened at about 11:45 a.m. when a car was leaving a gas station on the southwest corner of Quentin and Dundee Roads. The car was traveling southbound when it collided with the motorcycle at the intersection, said Lisa Gordon, a Cook County sheriff's police spokeswoman.
Michael Kelm was driving the motorcycle; his wife was his passenger, Gordon said. She did not know if the driver of the car received any tickets."
Summer and biker weather here is winding down but still keep your eyes open for those friendly bikers please !! You hear much about bicyclists but not as much about watching for motorcycle riders as well.
