Drunk Girl Kills Rookie Astros Pitcher After 1st Major League start

When in this country will people learn drunk driving in today's overcrowded roads filled with more kids and adults alike is more dangerous than ever, mostly due to all these people yapping away on their cell phones, texting and sexting their friends in the back seat or in the car behind them, watching DVD's or jerking off with their IPODS, everything but driving their damn cars on roads littered with other people doing the same crap.

So now we have yet another 3 victims and one just so happens to be a kid who just finished completing his lifetime dream 6 hours before as a rookie Anaheim Angels pitcher in his VERY FIRST major league game, who was killed by another young person that happened to be aman who's now dead too, all because of a few drinks and who knows what else he may have been stoned on.

What a shame..and may they all rest in peace while their families suffer the pain of the unnecessary losses of all three kids headed in different directions all except for that one micro second is all it takes. Party's over.

  1. And while parents are now unable to discipline their children, you can be sure the situation will get worse.

  2. This is a sad stoy. The kid worked hard to get into the majors and his life was shortened by irresponsibility.

  3. My niece and her husband were killed by a drunk driver in 2004 leaving two children. The same way, just going about there business and went through the green light and were broadsided by a drunk 16 year old kid who went right through the red light at the same time. Stories like this bring it all back again. This is definitely a sad story and I feel for the family. I hate drunk drivers more than anything... There is absolutely no excuse for it.

  4. I've seen him play in the minors in my hometown minor league team. He had so much ahead of him. I hope the girl learns from this, but the cynic in me says probably not.

  5. Sharon I too had a similar incident in 1983 when I and 5 friends were out at the bars in Wisconsin where it was only 18 to drink and while returning in two cars I in one with 2 friends and behind the other car with 3 other friends which one was the brother of my front seat passenger.

We came back into Illinois and while on a very familiar stretch of road the car in front drifted off to the right at an exit and caught the curb as I and the other two watched the Mazda rx 7 flip numerous times right in front of us, throwing the front seat passenger and brother of my front seat passenger through the open sunroof onto the pavement where I had to evade his body in the street while coming to an radical abrupt stop.

After administering as much aid as possible from lifeguard experience while the others ran for help my friend died with nary a scratch on his body in my and his brothers arms awaiting paramedics from internal head injuries.

The driver, my best friend who was legally drunk survived to resume a life ridden with guilt and substance abuse ultimately dying years after a suicide attempt diving out his girfriend's 10th story apt window only to survive and becoming permanently disabled wasted away on morphine and methadone til his death in 2002.

That occurrence is what kept me from driving drunk ever again and certainly a high price was paid by most of us in some way or another and usually only tragedy as such is what finally awakens the young...the adults have no excuse.

Yes Clay yet another who's dreams and hard work is simply erased by the negligence and selfishness of another, almost a typical American of today
