McCain Grills Barry About Marine 1 #2

This man is like a kid in the candy store or better yet an addict in a crack house as he talks of the pentagon speaking of upgrading the Marine One fleet at this time of supposed economic crisis' up the ying yang where he even said the word 25 times during a press conference last week...

McCain questions Obama about a proposed upgrade which in all fairness Obama didn't ask for and when pressed actually remarked jokingly that the one he has now is quite adequate although since it's his first copter access maybe this one could be improved and he jut doesn't know any better.

So he didn't really come out and condemn the idea as McCain was obviously trying to commit to such so any future improvements would need to be more scrutinized than it has in the past now due to current economic conditions/

AP: Obama: White House helicopters under review

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama never had a helicopter, which he says might explain why he's perfectly happy with the current White House fleet and doesn't need a more costly one.

At the conclusion of a fiscal summit Monday, Obama faced questions from Republican and Democratic lawmakers, including his former presidential rival, Sen. John McCain. McCain bemoaned cost overruns in military procurement. The new fleet of 28 Marine One helicopters — now over budget at $11.2 billion — will cost more than Air Force One.

Obama said the helicopter he has now seems adequate, adding that he never had a helicopter before and "maybe I've been deprived and I didn't know it."
