Fingernail Freak Nearly Kills Herself and Others in Four Car Pileup

Hopefully she'll recover, but should someone doing this be allowed to drive in the first place. Some people are able to drive with their feet out of necessity, but in this case the impediment is being voluntarily done so doesn't qualify as being disabled (except in the head) and how she even manages to drive with these freak nails is what I'd like to know.

Obviously not safely as this story this morning indicates and she's lucky to still be alive today.

Longest fingernails lost in car crash

| Herald Sun: "THE woman who was credited with having world's longest fingernails has lost them in a car crash.

Lee Redmond, who was listed as having the longest nails in the Guinness Book of World Records, suffered serious but not life threatening injuries in an accident in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Wednesday, local paper the Desert News reported.

Ms Redmond was thrown out of a 4WD vehicle and was taken to hospital, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lieutenant Don Hutson said, according to wire service AP.

The nails, which have not been cut since 1979 and were last measured by Guinness in 2008 at a combined length of 8.65m with her right thumb nail being the longest at 90cm, were broken."
