Every single democrat who is ever found under federal investigation or any cloud of confirmed suspicions sticks to their offices like stink on a monkey. For instance, right now we have Charlie Rangel of New York clinging to the House Ways and Means committee chair along with his senate seat, the most powerful office next to Speaker of the House in the US government holding on to this job for dear life despite overwhelming evidence of major inproprieties. They'll have to remove him and his fat ass with a crane before he gives up that senate seat, just like his predecessor Dan Rostenkowski another DEM crook from Illinois
Speaking of Illinois we have a governor under large suspicions of pay top play type activity regardless of the fact that his predecessor, Republican George Ryan was found guilty and subsequently imprisoned for his laundry list of crimes, one of which was entirely responsible for the deaths of The Willis family's 7 children in a car accident caused by an illegal alien given a drivers license by Ryans office underlings.
Jefferson stayed in office for a complete term after being found to have bribery cash stashed in a refrigerator of all places, then you have Kwame Kilpartick in Detroit who they had to remove with a crane to to his 400 lb fat cat frame after years of office inpropriety with an underling that he denied until the cows came home. Bill Clinton himself sat in the oval office under that cloud of Monica Lewinsky sexual misconduct teenaged intern, demonstrating unmatched deviate behavior by a sitting president. So he gets dragged in for impeachment by the rightfully disgusted members of the Republican led congress and still will not resign his office afterwards.
Yet Richard Nixon, for the betterment of the nation, surrenders his office in '74 over what? A lousy botched Watergate Hotel break in by G Gordon Liddy and other "plumbers", of a dem operative named Daniels Ellsbergs' office and the subsequent quite extensive cover up, yet Clinton similarly covers up his escapades with no compunction whatsoever and lies to the nation repeatedly regarding the crisis in televised news conferences, and doesn't finally even admit culpability in the affairs until a spooge stained dress with his DNA all over it is presented to the nation by Lewinsky and Linda Tripp.
If this doesn't prove democrats and liberalism is a form of mental illness when coupled with this type of repeated childish irresponsible behaviors than nothing will. Now the people have at least spoke and thrown this bum in the streets and now hopefully he does some prison time and this will keep other lying scum in Washington from breaking our laws on both sides of the aisle. Doubtful ....
Indicted Louisiana congressman loses re-election bid -
CNN.com: "CNN) -- Nine-term Democratic Rep. William Jefferson, who has been battling scandals and a federal indictment for the past three years, lost his bid for re-election on Saturday.
Louisiana Democratic Rep. William Jefferson has been embroiled in a bribery scandal.
Louisiana Democratic Rep. William Jefferson has been embroiled in a bribery scandal.
Republican challenger Anh 'Joseph' Cao, an attorney and community organizer, defeated Jefferson in the 2nd Congressional district race. He will become the first Vietnamese-American elected to Congress.
With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Cao had almost 50 percent of the vote to Jefferson's 47 percent.
The 2nd Congressional district, in and around New Orleans, is mostly African-American and heavily Democratic, and Jefferson appeared to be favored to win re-election going into the election.
'The people of the second district were able to transcend party, transcend race,' Cao said after claiming victory Saturday night.
Voters also chose Republican John Fleming over Democrat Paul Carmouche in Louisiana's 4th District by a slim 356-vote margin.
Fleming will replace retiring 10-term Republican Rep. Jim McCrery, a top-ranking Republican on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.
Elections in the districts were delayed after Hurricane Gustav hit Louisiana in September, setting up what should be the last two federal contests of 2008 on Saturday. Both races had two other contenders who drew a small percentage of votes.
Jefferson has pleaded not guilty to 16 criminal counts of racketeering, bribery, money laundering and obstruction of justice. He denies any wrongdoing.
In 2005, Jefferson's private homes in Washington and New Orleans were raided, and FBI agents say they found $90,000 in cash stashed in one of his freezers."
