Great Stanley Kurtz Article Yesterday on The ACORN Theme

Explaining the crisis and how the seeds of it were layed by democrats in some ways led by Barack Hussein who did some very early work with the group as an instructor of sorts I guess teaching how to coerce voter registrations from mostly folks you wouldn;t find a country mile within a polling place unless they were giving away crack hits and Mad Dog 2020 for appetizers.

It also covers the other complicit dems in Washington while Obama was community rabblerousing who were forcing loans on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that the banks didn't want to deal with. Remarkably Hussein was also a part of this slice of the failures as a litigant in a lawsuit against Citibank for denying usually a little on the poorer side of inner city folks loans as well. You'll never guess the offending criteria as the basis for that lawsuit, holding a job and actually having decent credit like they demanded from me and other !

Of all the gall, banks actually trying to make sure that the loans might be payed back some day, I mean what what that lead to if for decades bad loans were consistently given to unqualified crack smokers and other assorted citizenry of questionable character, you might actually have a breakdown of the entire global banking system, all because of a few powerful bureaucrats in Washington. What a concept.

Planting Seeds of Disaster

by Stanley Kurtz on National Review Online: "‘You’ve got only a couple thousand bucks in the bank. Your job pays you dog-food wages. Your credit history has been bent, stapled, and mutilated. You declared bankruptcy in 1989. Don’t despair: You can still buy a house.” So began an April 1995 article in the Chicago Sun-Times that went on to direct prospective home-buyers fitting this profile to a group of far-left “community organizers” called ACORN, for assistance. In retrospect, of course, encouraging customers like this to buy homes seems little short of madness.

Militant ACORN

At the time, however, that 1995 Chicago newspaper article represented something of a triumph for Barack Obama. That same year, as a director at Chicago’s Woods Fund, Obama was successfully pushing for a major expansion of assistance to ACORN, and sending still more money ACORN’s way from his post as board chair of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Through both funding and personal-leadership training, Obama supported ACORN. And ACORN, far more than we’ve recognized up to now, had a major role in precipitating the subprime crisis." continued
