Tragic Death Of Young Girl Literally In My Own Backyard Solved

The young man and woman involved in this sad story of drug abuse and death took place in the township of which I've lived for over 25 years and the young woman's body was found in a library parking lot about 500 yards in total view from my home back in June.

The death has been solved and determined to have been caused by the ingestion of Heroin by the young lady and her male friend, who removed her body from his house after she overdosed, a home which I drive by practically every day, to the empty parking lot where he left her dead i
n a car of apparent undetermined ownership.

There has been no reporting whatsoever as to whether she intentionally took the drugs or whether they were administered to her unknowingly

In any event, what a guy.

Arrest made in drug overdose death of Mount Prospect woman:

Daily Herald | "Prospect Heights police said Monday they have arrested Thomas Young of Prospect Heights and charged him with concealing a homicide in connection with the June 29 death of Gina Dominick, 20, of Mount Prospect, of a heroin overdose.

Young, 21, of 103 Prospect Court, came to police headquarters about 10 a.m. Monday and turned himself in, Detective Al Steffen said. Young appeared in court in Rolling Meadows, where his bond was set at $50,000 by Circuit Court Judge Joel Greenblatt. His next court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 10, police said.

Police still are looking for a second man who provided the heroin on a charge of contributing to a homicidal death, Steffen said.

Police were led to Young by security system surveillance tapes and by phone calls and text messages between him and Dominick, Steffen said. Young told police the third person had supplied himself and Dominick with the heroin, Steffen said. Young also admitted that Dominick died in his house and that he moved the body a couple of blocks away to where it was found by passers-by at 10 a.m. in a car in the Prospect Heights library parking lot, Steffen said.

Police had executed a search warrant at Young's home shortly after the death, but had delayed filing any charges pending completion of toxicology tests. They had labeled the inquiry a death investigation, but hadn't said how she died. On Monday, they said toxicology tests showed that she had died of a heroin overdose.

Dominick graduated from St. Raymond Elementary School in Mount Prospect in 2002. She is also a 2006 graduate of Prospect High School, according to Township High School District 214.

Dominick had worked at various pizza places as a manager and a waitress since graduating, according to friends.

She had completed a year at Harper Junior College in Palatine and had intended to go back this fall.

Friends said she had aspired to become a medical or pharmaceutical technician. But she also thought about working with animals after volunteering at an animal shelter
