And now word comes that with no problem or regret whatsoever after he put his signature on a document along with John McCain promising to use public financing for his campaign at the outset of the primaries to freeze out what dems who support MoveOn.org refer to as "swiftboat style politics", he has now "Opted Out" of that agreement and feels the American electorate not already swayed by his manipulative Revival Roadshow already can be bought with commercials and more sloganeering.
That Swiftboat reference above refers to the SwiftBoat Veterans for Truth, a consortium of proud Veterans that opposed Kerry's election to president quite vociferously you may recall, proud and decorated soldiers who served with John Kerry firsthand side by side. For those just back from Mars who are not aware, Senator John Kerry served in Vietnam for a cup of coffee or two until taking heavy rice shrapnel in the arse after a month or two of service, earning him an exit back to the states to receive all kinds of distinguished medals his fellow vets couldn't figure out how and why he was awarded after such short and clumsy service. Vaunted Military Medals, (just the ribbons he claimed later) that he gleefully chucked over a wall during a Washington demonstration he attended after becoming a traitor to his country and fellow servicemen by his appearance at the WinterSoldier hearings making all sorts of erroneous and hurtful accusations that many will remember for eternity that made him a darling of the left and propelled him into the world of politics as an elected enemy of America.
However, shrewdly and quite effortlessly Obama now realizes that the unforeseen amount of willing suckers out there in liberal land tossing him bushel loads of mostly unneeded millions and millions of their hard earned dollars his way, perfectly comfortable making him potentially filthy rich unbeknownst to them I'm sure, that is should he either win or lose his campaign and manages to not spend any portion of this likely mountain of cashflow on the campaign which he would never have to do based on McCain's considerably smaller campaign dough pile since he and his donors anticipated Obama's word on the agreement he's now reneged on (oops, is renege a racist term? lol). (see explanation of how that's regularly done legally by all politicians that most Americans are simply unaware of right here).
This is just too juicy a development to pass up, so he decides to opt out of a major campaign promise he made putting his signature on the document even, and he hasn't even been elected yet. Reneging on one of the very first promises he made to America and his opponent sure doesn't bode well for future honesty now does it? .
What a sham artist this guy proves to be each and every day, and I only pray that the poor misguided people misguidedly supporting him so religiously by believing his wishful rhetoric see that he's really no different from most other crooked politicians and in many ways much worse.
After all he's the one holding himself up so high and mighty above the rest as his claim to fame, claiming he's the new hope for a new world and all that other empty garbage so many Americans truly wish for, but most realistically know this is simply too good to be true and impossible to aqccomplish in today's Washington environment. It cannot be accomplished by one single individual period. It will take the entirety of the American electorate to bring about this change together, not one man who has trouble with judgment and experience..
Just another con job being perpetrated on the American people, the left leaning half at least for now.. And when the Associated Press picks it up and rips it as they remarkably did, you know it was not a good move .
AP Analysis: Obama chose winning over his word
The Associated Press: "The Democrat once made a conditional agreement to accept taxpayer money from the public financing system, and accompanying spending limits, if his Republican opponent did, too.
No more.
The chance to financially swamp John McCain — and maneuver for an enormous general election advantage — proved too great an allure.
Obama, a record-shattering fundraiser, reversed course Thursday and decided to forgo some $85 million so he could raise unlimited amounts of money and spend as much as he wants.
'It's not an easy decision, and especially because I support a robust system of public financing of elections,' Obama said in announcing that despite his previous commitment, he would rely only on private donations because 'the public financing of presidential elections as it exists today is broken.'
And with that, the first-term Illinois senator tarnished his carefully honed image as a different kind of politician — one who means what he says and says what he means — while undercutting his call for 'a new kind of politics.'" continued here
