So here's yet another interesting one, this effort from Jonah Goldberg, editor at large of NRO, son of famed conservative website/forum owner and author Lucianne Goldberg, who has many great points and observations also regarding the Obama's and their supposed "new outlook" for America, and his so called "unity through change" platform they so boldly profess to want the country to embrace as if this is some foreign concept that Americans on the right have no interest nor ability in accomplishing.
I guess that's why George Bush has so alienated his mostly die hard conservative base in these past 5 years, while bending over backwards to reach across the aisle, in the saddening process kissing as much liberal ass as he could possibly get away with, particularly on the illegal immigrant issue which single handedly soured his entire dedicated base in one fell swoop last year, myself included.
The problem is it's nothing new and only seems new to the mostly uninformed, those who have never taken an interest in world politics in the first place until Barack the Bamboozler came on the scene, because most of us have seen and heard this rhetoric and platitude time and time again seeing none of it ever realized and never will in a free society.
They already tried this failed social overhaul in the FORMER Soviet Union and throughout Eastern Europe in the entire 20th century, and for those who are lightweights on world history or who may have simply forgot, it was called Communism, the brainchild of Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin, and we in the west spent 50 or so years and trillions upon trillions of dollars soundly relegating it to the scrapheap of history, or so we thought, in what was called the "Cold War" and also referred to in may circles as WWIII.
This revelation unfortunately is news to most of the mostly young and idealistic sycophantic Obamanites, as the public schools seemingly stopped teaching that little portion of forgotten world history around the same time 20 years ago or so, right when homosexuality and political correctness became required subjects for many of todays young misinformed and indoctrinated students.
That can be the only acceptable explanation for such ignorance and disregard of learning from the mistakes of the past in recent memory.
SELF-HATING YUPPIE -
New York Post: "April 19, 2008 -- Barack Obama is finally coming into focus.
For a while now, the Obamaphiles have insisted that their candidate represents a profound break with the past. No more culture wars. No more 're-litigating the 1960s,' in Obama's own words.
But what about re-litigating the 1980s?
There's always been a certain cultural lag time to Barack and Michelle Obama, a kitschiness that's hard to pinpoint. But I think I've got it: They're self-hating yuppies straight out of the 1980s, which were to the Obamas what the 1960s were to the Clintons.
For those too young to remember, 'yuppie' was shorthand for young urban professionals - think Michael J. Fox as Alex P. Keaton in the TV series 'Family Ties' - who allegedly represented the collapse of '60s values and the triumph of '80s greed. Yuppies sold their souls for a BMW and a condo.
Ironically, the biggest complaints about yuppie materialism came from self-loathing liberal yuppies - like the Obamas." continued here....
