Unspeakable Tragedy Befalls Florida Family

Talk about terrible luck at terrible times and one of those times where a split second makes a difference between life and death, and in this case it meant death for a little boy and trauma beyond belief for his poor family and citizens of Plant City Florida Friday night.

It's like when you have a car accident and if you just spent 2 seconds longer at the last traffic light, or in your driveway the tragic event wouldn't have occurred, just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Boy Killed by Christmas Parade Float:

Newsmax.com - "PLANT CITY, Fla. -- A 9-year-old boy died after being run over by a church float in a Christmas parade. Jordan Hayes was walking alongside the float, handing out beads and candy, when his foot was caught by a wheel and he fell under the float Friday night, said Police Chief Bill McDaniel. Parade watchers shouted at the driver to back up, but the pickup truck pulling the Greater Heights Family Worship Center float ran over Jordan a second time.

The driver, Jerry Bridges, is a cousin of Jordan, authorities said. Jordan, of Inverness, had been in Plant City visiting a brother. 'This is a tragedy that defies words,' McDaniel said. 'This was supposed to be a time of celebration and joy, but it has turned into a terrible tragedy.'"
