Another thing I can guarantee is that I, my friends and family members will simply do what we always do since 9-11; keep our eyes and ears wide open, paying attention to any and all things going on around us and our loved ones at all times. And should we see anyone or anything suspicious, we will act accordingly either by contacting the local authorities depending on our physical location at that moment, unless of coarse there was no time to do so. In which case then I, and I'm sure they, would hope that we would do whatever is necessary at that moment of truth to either thwart of hinder any type of activity that seemed terroristic or criminal in nature as always.
In other words we aren't gonna run and we aren't gonna hide. And we're not the local ACLU or liberal do gooders either, so rest assured I'm not averse to doing whatever racial profiling I need to do in order to make sure my immediate surroundings are safe and secure at all times from any individual who openly displays what I consider to be the hallmarks of a possible terrorist or troublemaker. First and foremost that includes any and all Muslims between the ages of 17 and 45 in my book when talking about terrorist threats.
Take that as you will, but say it's safe to assume as a registered owner of firearms and trained in their safe use I won't hesitate to take matters into my own hands, should that moment ever arise or become necessary to protect my loved ones and our personal property. And am certain there are many other Chicagoans around me at most times that will do the same when the time arises if it ever should.
We just all hope and prey that these moments don't arise, and also provide our local and federal law enforcement personnel all the tools, knowhow and wherewithal they need to do whatever needs to be done to stop these threats before they ever have a chance to come to fruition.
Something that this administration has done an excellent job at since 9-11, and they can count on me to do my part as a citizen to report anyone and anything suspicious and to fight back if it does.
From one local newspaper, the Sun Times:
FBI receives threat against Chicago mallsFrom national perspective...
CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State: "The FBI downplayed a warning Thursday about possible holiday terror attacks on Chicago and Los Angeles shopping malls, but a source said police can't disregard such threats -- pointing to a similar plot last year in northern Illinois. The FBI message to law-enforcement agencies was based on uncorroborated intelligence and did not identify specific malls.
Nevertheless, a Chicago Police source said such warnings are taken seriously, pointing to the arrest last December of Derrick Shareef for allegedly plotting to kill holiday shoppers at a Rockford mall. Shareef also is accused of plotting with a roommate to attack military targets, prosecutors revealed recently. He was nabbed by the FBI after he allegedly tried to obtain a pistol and grenades to attack shoppers at CherryVale mall in Rockford. He also discussed attacking courthouses and the Rockford City Hall, officials said. Shareef made a videotape saying, 'This is a warning to those who disbelieve that we are here for you, and I am ready to give my life,' the FBI said." continued
Al Qaeda Planning Holiday Shopping Mall Attacks -If we all Stay vigilant and keep our eyes and ears open along with our minds and the biggest threat to this holiday season will be the usual enemies of the state; liberals and the ACLU trying to turn the holiday into winterfest or some other lame secular watered down feelgood affair.
FOXNews.com "Law enforcement sources on Thursday confirmed an ABC report claiming Al Qaeda is planning attacks on Los Angeles and Chicago shopping malls during the busy holiday season. At least one official told FOX News the report has been overplayed, however, saying, 'We’re not that worried about it' and that the warning was posted out of an 'abundance of caution.' continued
