A story of a man named Tom Perkins, hyper successful venture capitalist caught my eye and was quite an interesting tale at that, worth delving into here if you have a few minutes to spare in doing so.
The first 7 minutes are footage about his 150-300 million dollar unbelievable and beautiful yacht called the Maltese Falcon.
Tom Perkins Regrets Quitting HP Board,
Also Tells Lesley Stahl Cost Of His Mega-Yacht Embarrasses Him
CBS News:"(CBS) If there were a hall of fame for business tycoons, Tom Perkins would be a first ballot shoo-in. His hands-on engineering skills, combined with his nose for profit, made him the captain of venture capitalism and helped transform Silicon Valley into the money machine of the West. As correspondent Lesley Stahl reports, the firm he co-founded, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, provided start-up capital for companies like AOL, Amazon.com, Netscape, and Google; the list goes on and on." continued

I myself am a conservative and capitalist (although not a wealthy one) and this man earned every dime he has in order to have such pleasures of wealth like this phenomenal boat, along with other toys and possessions most only dream of, so what he chooses to do with his wealth is his business and only his and in no way am I acting liberal and ridiculing him when asking this question, but human logic also begs the question of just how much wealth is enough. And this guy is about as ostentatious as they come you better believe.
That question is asked brilliantly by Charlie Sheen playing Bud Fox in Oliver Stone's1986 movie Wall Street to Michael Douglas as Gordon Gecko , a favorite movie of mine and both favorite actors of mine as well....until Charlie turned 9-11 conspiracy nut that is not too long ago.....
There are a lot of real life Gordon Gecko's out there in the world today, more than ever, and they sure are living it up. I must confess I do wish I could become one of them and work hard to maybe one day in my dreams become one when I see stuff like that boat above and the obvious pleasure that can be derived from obscene wealth. But there is also a limit to what one human being actually needs and this man has certainly surpassed that without a doubt but it's his and that's the way it is. Good for him.Bud Fox: Tell me, Gordon, when does it all end, huh? How many yachts can you water-ski behind, how much is enough?
Gordon Gecko: It’s not a question of enough, Pal. It’s a zero-sum game. Somebody wins, somebody loses. Money itself isn’t lost or made, it’s simply transferred from one perception to another. Like magic. We make the rules, Pal…the news, war, peace, famine, upheaval, the price of paper clips. We pick that rabbit out of the hat and everybody sits out there wondering how the hell we did it.
