Last night Matt Drudge did his last Sunday night radio show, a mostly conservative radio staple for over 9 years to the tune of over 500 shows. They / he came to this decision in July apparently and he indicated on the broadcast he didn't wish to do a four or five week "goodbye audience"send off so the announcements previous were pretty low key.I myself listened to the Drudge broadcasts for almost 5 years, and he will leave a large hole in my Sunday pm / Mon am radio schedule as the only live national news show on that evening besides of coarse the often loony but stalwart Coast to Coast offering where Art Bell retired just recently again for the umpteenth time btw.
Drudge was entertaining and will be missed by me as well as many others I 'm sure. The article below was published earlier in September in NewsMax.
Drudge To Leave Radio
NewsMax.com Sept 5th A local Cincinnati radio host will replace Internet journalist Matt Drudge on his syndicated radio show when he goes off the air at the end of September.
Bill “Willie” Cunningham, who hosts an early afternoon show on WLW-AM in Cincinnati, will take over for Drudge and host “Live on Sunday Night with Bill Cunningham,” which will be heard Sundays nights from 9 p.m. to midnight on some 325 affiliates of Clear Channel co-owned Premiere Radio Networks.
The affiliates have been told that Drudge is leaving radio to concentrate on his Web site and other ventures, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Cunningham will host his first show on Oct. 7. He has been heard nationally before, filling in for Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity on their radio programs
