Big Brother Gone Wild In Cali Smoking Ban

Adults can no longer choose whether or not to smoke in their own residences for the first time in American history and the country slides down the slippery slope of government running the individuals lives like never envisioned by the founding fathers.

This in a state that embraces same sex marriages, homosexuality, rampant anti Americanism and anti military, all in all a complete embarrassment to the country and itself most of the time not to mention an illegal alien hellhole infested with gangs and criminal illegals that are a drain on the state's normal citizenry and subsequently a threat to the entire nation.

It's Official -- Belmont Bans Smoking In Some Homes
News Story - KNTV San Francisco: "The Belmont City Council on Tuesday night adopted a landmark ordinance regulating secondhand smoke in the city. The ordinance passed on a 3-2 vote and will go into effect in 30 days, according to City Manager Jack Crist. The ordinance was introduced by the City Council on Sept. 11, and then approved with a few wording changes at its Sept. 25 meeting.

Thought to be the first of its kind in California, the ordinance declares secondhand smoke a public nuisance and extends the city's current smoking ban to include multi-unit, multi-story residences. Though Belmont and some other California cities already restrict smoking in multi-unit common areas, Belmont is the first city to extend secondhand smoke regulation to the inside of individual apartment units." continued

And another little ban goes along with this one apparently, one that is a bit more understandable, but yet quite an intrusion on personal privacy rights that liberals so often talk about losing from the present administration in Washington as well:

Calif. bans smoking in cars with kids

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - California motorists will risk fines of up to $100 next year if they are caught smoking in cars with minors, making their state the third to protect children in vehicles from secondhand smoke.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday signed a bill that will make it an infraction to smoke in a vehicle if someone under age 18 is present. But the traffic stop would have to be made for another offense, such as speeding or an illegal turn, before the driver could be cited for smoking. continued

Those liberals always seem to know what's better or best for you and I than you and I do, don't they?

Well they sure think they do don't they? Remember that they also want to tell us when and where we have to go to the doctor as well, should they get elected to the white house that is..
