Rep. Peter King: There are "too many mosques in this country”There is a heated debated in the comment section regarding these remarks and interview over there worth reading.
The Crypt's Blog - Politico.com: "New York Rep. Peter King, a prominent House Republican, said there are “too many mosques in this country” in a recent interview with Politico. “There are too many people sympathetic to radical Islam,” King said. “We should be looking at them more carefully and finding out how we can infiltrate them.” King is the ranking Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee. And as an outspoken advocate of strong anti-terror measures, he has been unafraid to ruffle some feathers in his drive to protect the homeland." continued
I am an avid supporter of Congressman King (despite being a Chicagoan who's own representatives are liberals including my local republican veteran congressman Mark Kirk in many votes he's notched over the years adn during this war against terror) and his stalwart stand against radical Islam and jihadists since 9-11, even though his words and efforts are ridiculed in many circles, mostly liberal and Islamic ones, surprise surprise not.
In spite of the guarantee in the constitution of freedom to practice one's religion I think a mosque in every city is a stretch and dangerous myself, and the building of mosques at an accelerated pace is a problem around the world, not just America as far as I'm concerned. And considering that they tend to be meeting places in most countries for the radical elements within that religion which itself is nothing more than a radical cult in many peoples eyes including mine a watchful eye in their direction is only prudent if not a must
I too agree that they should be monitored and limited as does the congressman despite the inevitable protests that will follow such a move to do so from the usual America hating Islamic support groups like CAIR that have their best interests at heart, not America's and our citizens.
This is America not Saudi Arabia and Pakistan after all. And Peter King is right, the enemy is building bases tight in our midst and we stand around wringing our hands about their civil liberties which is what these terrorists do best, use those liberties to attack us with our own weaknesses. Here's the interview itself.
