A Stolen Jeep, 6 Teens And a Freight Train...

In todays world one can just tell from those words that this story isn't going to be good. In todays world one can also tell if it's not good that it must be that the kids driving the car got hit by the freight train, right?

No, in this case this is a freight train hit by stolen car with 6 teens joyriding in it in the absolute middle of the night, and to boot it's the parked freight trains fault, not the kids in the stolen car this according to the lawyer of the teen who was driving the stolen vehicle at 4 in the morning.

Four of whom are now sadly dead who were, it appears, willingly riding in the stolen car, and among the dead is including the younger 14 year old brother of the 15 year old driver.

Only in todays America of no personal responsibility can a parked freight train become responsible for a deadly car accident.

Joyriding teen faces murder charges

Dallas Morning News "HOUSTON – A 15-year-old boy who slammed a stolen car into a freight train parked at a railroad crossing has been charged with murder in the deaths of four passengers."

Bobby Davis of Baytown was booked into a juvenile detention center Thursday and is scheduled for a Friday detention hearing. His family's attorney, Richard "Racehorse" Haynes, couldn't be reached for comment Thursday, but previously pointed to the train as the problem.

"The stolen vehicle didn't contribute to the crash, collision and the deaths. What contributed was the fact there was an unmarked, unlighted crossing with a train parked there for 34 minutes," Mr. Haynes said.

Police said the teens were joyriding about 4 a.m. June 14 in a Jeep Cherokee that Mr. Davis had stolen. The one boy to survive along with Mr. Davis reported that Mr. Davis was trying to "catch some air" by speeding over the crossing, investigators said.

Killed were Mr. Davis' 14-year-old brother, Austin; Loral Moyers, 12; her cousin Macy Moyers, 14; and Colette Windham, 14. Investigators said the teens had sneaked out of their families' homes.

Harris County sheriff's Lt. Darryl Coleman said authorities don't believe the teen was drunk.

Mr. Coleman said several factors contributed to the charges.

"This kid killed four other kids in one act, which occurred after he had stolen two cars that night," Lt. Coleman said. "He actually stole one and it broke down, and then he went down the street and stole another."
